I think everyone is in agreement elusive targets have come to there end and moving forward it would make sense to make these missions along with all the other celebrity missions into special assignments. Let them have a slot on there destination menu like the special assignments and Sarajevo six missions
however saying that I think all elusive targets should now have there own slot too we’ve had many many reruns of each target now and in arcade mode there’s restrictions for some particularly the deceivers who you can’t play with a loadout at all!!
For me, a big part is the fact that if I reset the Arcade contract to be able to replay it, then I have to complete it (twice) to get back that 2/2 completion indicator. If I’m not going to have time to do all that (or what I want to try isn’t worth spending the extra time on), I find myself not wanting to reset it. Worse, if I screw up and die, I’ll have to remember to come back in 30 minutes to get the 2/2 back. It’s silly, but completionism works against replayability for me.
Then, also, this is a very long mission with no ability to save. If what I want to try is 15 minutes in, then if it doesn’t work out I have to do the whole setup again. At least they did things fairly well in this mission: you can go straight to the lab part in a minute or two, or the post-lab part with the “12 minutes later” start.
When the penalty time was reduced to 30 minutes due to a specification change, the starting point for the penalty timer was changed from the mission failure point to the mission start point.
Therefore, if a mission takes more than 30 minutes to complete, you can restart immediately even if the mission fails.
Note that if you advance to Stage 2, the start of Stage 2 becomes the new starting point for the penalty timer.
I’ll add on that I think we should still keep elusive target arcade for people who want to have a challenge and do things differently with the complications but they need to be treated as their own contracts now. Imagine paying for the special assignment missions or worse Sarajevo six missions and having a restricted load out complication on the mercenary we’d be in up roar so these should be the same
I liked this mission so much. But I want to say a thing. After 10 years of Elusive Targets, I’m getting bored. One of the nicest things of Hitman is the possibility to play a mission more times, with different ways. At the beginning ETs were beautiful news. But now I’m tired of this formula. I want play and replay those beautiful missions
PS I think that Patient Zero Requiem could get another nice chapter with a remake for pc and consolle of the mobile sniper mission Death Valley
Does anyone know if we could get a possible continuation with patient zero with the next three targets coming this year or do we think they’ll be different. I feel like nothing was said about there being more to it once we eliminate Lilith
This may be a little controversial given the high degree of satisfaction with this Elusive Target, but I found the basement/lab to be a bit of a missed opportunity. There is quite a bit of space down there and it’s certainly an eerie environment with the Dictaphone tapes, bodies, and overall atmosphere but it’s so empty. There only one non-player character down there and she isn’t really interact-able outside of a conversation.
It’s too late to do anything about now, but I would have enjoyed (especially given the Resident Evil connection with Mila) for the dead people to rise up as zombies, or have the Ether team show up down there and 47 has to get out (stealth or shoot, up to the player). As is, it’s cool, but feels a little wasted with nothing more than a “get out of the gas” mechanic.
One thing I forgot to mention earlier that I also appreciated - the use of H2´s main menu theme in the briefing video. I miss hearing it in the game and would love it back on a permanent basis…
Has anyone found anything that could be done with the couple on the top floor in Alexa’s office? The cinematic trailer has Lillith snapping the guys neck and I feel like there’s a reason they’re there.
Overall, very enjoyable ET with a few rough edges that seem to need ironing out. The lab and elevator is a nice touch but I’m glad IOI never made this a fixture in other levels - the novelty would wear off real fast.
As everyone else has said, this really shouldn’t be an ET - it should join the Patient Zero special assignment section.
The target’s likeness to their IRL counterpart is the weakest I’ve seen - I’m almost inclined to think they didn’t buy the rights to use her face and went with this knock-off uncanny valley model.
Happy to hear it’s been given attention from IO’s end this doesn’t mean we want less elaborate missions just to make them elusive targets
I think the team has done amazingly well with the elusive targets recently if they are just given extra thought for things that have been mentioned I’m sure everyone will be over the moon thank you IO
With over 540 comments in this thread already, it’s possible this is already known, but if you start the level and bee-line straight to Alexa’s grave site, grab the ring, and immediately go down into the lab, Lilith just appears in the lab, teleporting through the door she eventually leaves through. You don’t have to wait for her to go down the elevator herself.
Been testing a hell of a lot of things with this one - Bruce Lee’s mission felt very air-tight in the sense of however you stretched the level, something logical would happen. This does the same in some ways, but for some reason nobody accounted for what would happen once the response team has tested everyone (as negative). They just stand there calling up the next person every 30 seconds, and if 47 walks up there in an unmasked disguise, you can’t take the test. Perhaps even worse, the photographer walked back into the building (stupid guy) and one of the remaining civilians stands there smoking in the testing room, in full view of the Ether team… think they might want her to take the test at some point lmao… Both feel like a missed opportunity!!
I think I’ve also become a softie because I couldn’t bring myself to infect everyone, or even just one person, only seeing what happens when someone tests positive by vaccinating everyone the first infectee has a chance to come into contact with. I’ll have to do it anyway because I’m curious about all the new names the added guest npcs have
