HITMAN World of Assassination unveils digital entertainment icon Jacksepticeye as its new Elusive Target, playable on October 29th
The Host mission starring Jacksepticeye is playable as part of the Free Demo for new players and in the game for players who already own HITMAN World of Assassination for a limited time
"I’ve been playing HITMAN with my community for years, so getting to actually step into the World of Assassination is unreal. Finn is loud, paranoid, and completely obsessed with content, and playing him was an absolute blast. I can’t wait to see all the creative ways you take him down, so make sure you’re recording it!” Jacksepticeye
For every player completing the level Silent Assassin, IOI will donate 1 US dollar to Thankmas, up to 25.000 usd. (a fundraising effort from Jackspeticeye to the Make-A-Wish Foundation)
It’s nowhere near as big of an issue as you make it out to be. It’s more a flaw with how Elusive Targets are intentionally designed for players to take the easiest route possible to complete them or risk permanent failure, and like all Celeb ETs I’m sure there’s a smorgasbord of incredibly easy ways to take out The Host anyway so it’s not like the balloon is making a difficult mission easy. If someone does enjoy taking out a target with the balloon taser combo, a video like yours comes across as a “Quit Having Fun!” meme.
I can easily eliminate every target in the trilogy with the Remote Explosive Classic Rubber Duck. That means it needs a nerf!
The mission is a bit like the Harbringer: very straightforward if you want.
With ways to finish it with minimal objectives revealed, and safely.
But if you let some of its story run, it becomes more complex.
With new locations, new objectives…
Which is good, it means the Elusive Target is not stressful for completionist.
While giving some more complex fun if you want.
Even more so with the challenges in SpecAss. I presume (servers are still in maintenance as of writing)
It’s still rather simple, it’s visibly a mission meant to be explored by first time players.
Bunch of setpieces.
I always like this.
Also I got it right after the classified files teaser:
This video was done on main mission targets. The video explicity did not showcase elusives being killed. But sure, I’m making a mountain out of a molehill. Tell me you haven’t seen the video without telling me.
So tell me again how main mission targets are intentionally designed for players to take the easiest route possible to complete them.
No it is a badly designed item that breaks the game’s latent puzzle design and IO shouild not have released it in its current state. It needs nerfing.
That is blatant projection.
Me advocating for balancing an OP item is not the same thing as saying to someone “You can’t use this because I say so”. There’s a doifference between criticism and toxicity.
If you dislike the video, fine, be my guest. You have every right to disagree with me. But at least gfve me the courtesy of viewing it first, before coming to the conclusion that you did.
Which never gets updated or discussed. That is part of the problem.
There’s a reason your comment (as well as Luke’s) has four likes and none of my posts on the subject have any. Nobody wants to discuss anything about balance or new items causing issues, letalone acknowledge problems with it in a dedicated thread.
I think the issue for what constitutes as OP is items that grant easy non detectable eliminations in a public and open area with no necessary planning, manipulation, or consequence with the only one being accidental player death
The video shown is no different to the ICA Phone, arguably worse since the results are pretty immediate.
run into target
drop balloons
drop briefcase with armed taser
back away and execute.
ICA Phone you atleast ran the risk of some NPC accidentally picking it up.
Do you wanna know the average time to kill someone in that video?
About 20 25 seconds. it was frequently much less time than that (Mattheiu Mendola was the quickest, Tamara was a close second).
No item should be killing people that quickly. If you can open a level, run to the target, drop a balloon at their feet, drop a taser, and wait five seconds to activate it for a clean accident kill, then that strikes me as OP, and not balanced for the games’ consistent puzzle design.
the issue honestly is them implementing mundane non detectable eliminations items allowed for starting equipment.
I get the game having them as rare location specific items that’s fine since that would require someone searching for the items. But balance has been thrown out the window the moment we could weaponize briefcases for our benefit.
if anything the previous discussion surround the ICA Phone meant nothing since it just took new form and the item at this point should be reimplemented.
Getting this back on topic of the ET instead of the usual nonsense that nobody wants to hear about the items (although I’d like to see this new electric phone), I’d like to point out that this is the second ET that shares a name with a Freelancer Syndicate, the Psy Ops contract The Host. The first was The Gunrunner for Arms Trafficking, which we all know was the 5th ET from H1.
Fuck it just rebalance the water balloon to make one of those New York style slippy puddles that cant make electricity. I dont even care but Im sick of this discussion already
