The package of Elusive target H1 five in 4 locations was amazing the most i enjoyed. The escalation of ET H3 didnt like. The fact that you cant shoot with pistol make me confuse cuz i use it usually, and suddenly i see that i faild and need to wait
,but finished it in 2nd try was very carefuly . i wish the next one of H3 be better.
i was the same on the apprasier when i used the sieker 1 the emetic tranq and i failed cause thats counts as shot aswell rip
This mode + complications =
It’s lazy of course, like many other content drops for this trilogy recently, but it’s also yet another kick in the balls for anyone that likes to play this game fast.
I don’t know what triggered it or who is responsible for the transition since H2, but it’s like certain people with influence really strongly dislike speedrunning (or aren’t aware how integral it used to be).
Plus, hey, it’s easy peasy to do! Just make the tracker bug work exactly like syringes and recycle the animation. Just don’t make it a “crime” if spotted, instead make the target react the same way as if you would have just bumped into them.
Maybe they are just sick of it?
youre thinking of this game and the company like they’re human beings. theyre not. they exist for profit and creating bad content does not create profit. a company doesnt “get tired” of a franchise.
But please explain to me how else 7DS and the Arcade could have happened.
because game designers and creative directors can make stupid decisions. 7DS was a bad decision fueled by limited resources, so it’s a little more understandable. but ET Arcade just seems like a purely bad decision. it happens a lot in the game industry, unfortunately

That would be everyone at ioi who made Absolution before Square Enix forced them to make it more “Hitman” like i.e. 99% of their current employees according to that NoClip documentary.
Every single gameplay change they’ve made over the course of the WOA trilogy only applies to preventing speedrunning. When you eliminate that playstyle from the equation, none of those changes make any sense.
You’ve seen that video of them reacting to speedrunning clips right? Did they seem happy about it to you?
So yeah, ioi hates speedrunning. ![]()
Apologies as presumably this has been covered. If you fail day level 3 of the contract does it reset back down to 1 and you have to start all over again? Or do you start from the level you previously failed?

You start back at level one.
Brilliant……

Speaking of recycling ETs, I’d really like a tracker bug: a 100% non-suspicious item you can tag anyone with so they glow, I dunno, green in instinct mode and on the map. It’s a worthy sacrifice of one item slot if you hate losing sight of an ET and also could be useful for tracking certain NPCs for challenges.
Could be implemented as a needle. Like a dye you inject an npc with.
Things I’m dissatisfied with Elusive Target Arcade:
- Mission description videos are deleted. got no idea why io decided to remove them.
- New players have literally no access to the neckname of target, like “the fixer” “the revolutionary” ,etc.
I suppose memorizing a neckname is much easier than remembering the real name of the target (at least for a non-English native) , so when communicating with other fans we usually use the neckname instead of the real name. Imaging that a new player who has never played the ETs before, when (s)he joins in a discoud cannel / reddit topic, etc, how could (s)he know what the old players are talking about?
My suggestion:
add the description video, and write the neckname of a target at the preparing stage,
maybe like: The Ellipse- Level 2- The Liberaty
Went back to the arcade just to see how it’s going. It magically thought I failed the first two sets but remembered that I took out the Prince. So I booted up the ID theft? I can’t remember his name but the guy with the sweet orange slacks and blue blazer, white slicked back hair, and wears a cravat? You know the total blow hard with the escort in Paris. Anyway I took him out SA and then the game wouldn’t let me try the next one bc it said I failed the 3rd set too
I’m thinking tomorrow I’ll be able to get one more down. From what I have read successfully finishing just 1 set will unlock the new 22 even though that’s not how it’s supposed to work. Hoping to get there eventually. Sorry for rambling. I really liked that ET. It was genuinely fun to play it again. Actually the Prince and this one are both top 5 for me. Glad they are back even it’s it’s all wonky right now.
Came back about 40 min later and it was “working” again. I got past the Angel of Death and the Hokkaido random bandage guy pretty quick. Thankfully throwing bandage man over the outdoor railing counted as body hidden bc I had read some places like in water or over a cliff don’t always register as body hidden even though no one will find it. Anyway I was rolling along pretty fast here and getting confident but then I saw the extra rules for black hat. 1 pacification and all bodies hidden and the camera timer?? I knew it would be tough. First I disabled all security cameras and then I went back by where Helmut makes his phone call to get a CICADA costume. Up the drain pipe and sneak along the attic till I get into the hacking room. I’m finally there but sadly can’t remember which hacker is black hat so I have to sneak a look at at walkthrough. It’s white shirt dude. I decide to try and neck snap him and then hide him as he pees in the bucket even though I generally hate stuff like that bc then my 47 would have piss all over him (drowning puking targets skeeves me out too. So grody). Anyway I go for it but of course I get seen by the other guard and so I try to whip out my silenced pistol and put him down before he can fire his not at all silenced rifle and alert the whole palace. I had planned for this and knew I could only hide two bodies so I was gonna leave the other hacker alive if this happened and jsut try to run out of there. I didn’t make any of it. The guard got a shot off before I put him down. I hid his body but the other hacker was too quick to run to other guards and at this point I thought even though the rifle went off that no one heard by a stroke of luck. So like an idiot I shot the other hacker. Now I have a dead hacker to hide and guards coming at me (bc they did hear) and I’m trying to drag this guy to a locker in the attic before I die. It was super comical and obviously I didn’t make it but I got pretty close. I got the 2nd hacker to within 2 body lengths of a box. If only I could have dumped him in I could have sprinted and hid and waited till 47 magic healed from all the gun fire he took
Or if I had only stuck to my back up plan as written and let 2nd hacker go. I am sure I could have gotten out. Follow the plan dummy!!!
Oh well. Total failure and I’m dead. Gotta redo all of it tomorrow I guess.
I know some (many) don’t like the complications and I’m with you all in thinking a free to play mode would also be super great, but when ET Arcade wasn’t telling me I failed when I didn’t, the mode was awesome with the complications.
Here’s to hoping they can debug it and maybe give us a secondary pick any one and play jsut for fun since it’s so wanted.
I played the all 3 AET and it was very funny bacause in this game mode (and I think is the right choice) there isn’t any specific reward for SA, so you can unlock all the specific XP without tilting or frustrating
But you can get frustrated, as me, when in the last level od “Codices” you made a right headshot but CPU said NO

I think I know why they called it Arcade, cuz when you pass one level, it boots you out then when you get back it shows you failed. Then the “arcade” aspect begins…. You exit and enter, exit and enter, exit and enter until it’s open again to continue. Now that’s arcade fun!!
I admit that I’ve found this mode entertaining. I dislike complications and escalations, but can see that some of these ETs would have limited replayability in them should they be freely available. I see exactly why IOI wanted them to remain elusive: many are, frankly, underpolished compared to main missions. The Stowaway, the Appraiser and the Collector all shone for me in this mode despite their restrictions. I replayed them all.
Some of the complications, however, are almost too much. The Angel of Death is difficult enough on her own, but with a 'Hide All Bodies complication is borderline impossible to work out. The target starts her routine after a couple of minutes, and her gang of heavies are enforcers to the one disguise which grants access to the Headmaster’s terrace. There’s nothing to do, perhaps short of killing both the target and her entire entourage with a sniper rifle.
I think everybody knows by now that the Arcade is hella bugged when it comes to “Failing”, so while I was Modding Miami today and booted up the Game a few Times, also because a new Edit sometimes crashes, even though it works and during that, I apparently failed all three Levels seperatly, then all at once and then none, without even opening the Mode once.
It does operate in a systematic way though. Just not as Intended I suppose.
Video game developers have to budget six months to a year ahead of time, planning on where to invest their time.
IOI had decided that Hitman3 was the end of the Trilogy, and they moved most of their resources onto new IP, especially Project 007 right after Hitman3 was released. And it all makes sense, given that IOI has been synonymous with the Hitman franchise mostly, and they now want to move on and build on their new IPs.
IOI has invested heavily in hiring new talent and building up new subsidiaries in Malmo and Barcelona.
IOI have obviously staked much of the next few years of the company on the James Bond deal which they eye as the bigger cash cow than Hitman, given that James Bond is an established IP which has a broad public appeal.
It took IOI years of planning to convince the Wilson/Broccoli family who owns the rights to James Bond to set up the Project 007 deal.
So, it has not been a surprise that Year 1 post-launch content was mostly a re-jigging or re-release of content on existing maps with a relatively small team. IOI had another Year 1 team dedicated to improving visuals and VR for the Steam release on PC for the start of Year 2.
The Hitman community has been spoiled a bit by the complete package… IOI have created an amazing platform for Hitman with existing missions and tons of other content, including contracts made by the Hitman community. It is a real steal for number of hours of playable content for anyone new in joining Hitman with new content released over five years from 2016.
IOI do want to continue to please their existing Hitman fanbase, but they do have changing priorities for a growing company wanting to expand outside of their Hitman franchise.
Hakan Abrak hinted that new maps and content for Hitman was on the way, and this was likely a decision made more recently, in an effort to sustain interest in Hitman for the community.
Expect at least one cool new map and mission for the summer and Fall 2022.
The Hitman community has been spoiled a bit by the complete package…
Nope We’re jaded because that “complete package” is stuffed full of unfixed bugs, broken mechanics, anti-speedrunning elements, recycled content and flat out dumb, WTF decisions.
The criticism this franchise and ioi gets is 100% deserved.
IOI deserves so much flack for what they did with hitman 3. hell, i’d go as far back as hitman 2 when they immediately cut support for the game despite it still being unpolished and having lots of bugs
but this rant makes no sense. if IOI wanted people to forget about hitman, they’d stop making content for it, and stop supporting it altogether.
