Eh, I don’t know if that logic is sound. The same could’ve been said about ol’ Murillo. That he needs to be a proper ET during a free Santa Fortuna period to get non-import players their location suit. However, we still assassinate him every time the Arcade gets a “new” batch.

The only thing I can think of is there’s some bug with the mission and that’s why they haven’t ran The Serial Killer yet. Does anyone know if it works properly with the offline ETs mod?

We’ve gotten the Liability and the Ascensionist twice now, and they’re set to come back. I don’t think the presence of an ET in Arcade is impacting the release schedule of, she all we call it, Elusive Target Classic.

It seems like it does to me. I’ve played through it a few times and never noticed any major glitches or problems.

Politician was Hut only

The reason Boat is unavailable (despite being selectable) is because default entrances don’t have mastery programmed in for them, so the only way they can be available is if they’re set as the default for that map; they instead set Hut as default, so Boat is now no longer default and doesn’t have a way to be unlocked

This is also why the Hokkaido default spawn shows as unavailable for things like the Hokkaido Snow Festival. It could be remedied by them setting it to ‘unlock’ at Mastery level 0, but oh well

I always have a chuckle (at IOI’s expense, not yours) when you and other members of the modding community seem to understand some ‘broken’ parts of the game better than the dev team at IOI do.

I’m not sure if it was ever proposed something like this before, but I have an idea how Devs can (@Travis_IOI) resolve the problems of some unlocks in the game and fulfill people requests.

Elusive Target Ultimate (Elusive Target Marathon, Endurance… call it, as you want)

-All Elusive Targets (counting Guru and Congressman as The Deceivers, without Undying and Wild Card for obvious reasons)
-in random order,
-without any complications,
-no auto or manual saves in missions
-when failed, you need to start from beginning, with 12 hour ban just like in Arcade,
Where:

  1. Completing all targets, unlocking - ICA Commendable Performance Coin
  2. Completing all targets with Silent Assassin - unlocking ICA Superior Performance Coin
  3. And hardest, completing all targets with Silent Assassin Suit Only - unlocking ICA Outstanding Performance Coin.

In addition, Silent Assassin Suit Only should unlock Black Winter Suit (this one with ET logo badge)
This should be hard enough to pleased everyone who want to keep some kind of exclusiveness of these unlocks.

In addition, some targets, only in this mode, can unlock special things attached to them, like:
-The Revolutionary - Shashka A33 Gold from Santa Fortuna,
-The Gunrunner - Fusil rifle… old or maybe special new variant with silencer
-The Iconoclast - ICA Druzhina 34 (seen only in Hantu Port)
-The Surgeons new “reskin” ICA Stethoscope
Also, there can be included unlocks as Explosive Pen and Lil’ Flashy

The biggest problem I see with that is the re-starting aspect. If there are close to 40 elusive targets in total without the undying or the wildcard, and I manage to do the first 30 perfectly, and then some random NPC notices me on level 31 and I have to start all over, I’m gonna be really unhappy.

There are people complaining about having to restart the current Elusive Target Arcade contracts and those are only 3 (or 5) maps each). Restarting a string of nearly 40 from scratch is going to make a lot of people simply uninterested.

Another thing that’s needed is a way to unlock the suits that are tied to these levels without waiting for IOI to rerelease the levels as real Elusive Targets. If they made it so that a Silent Assassin rating earned the unlockable suit for that map, I’d be for it.

I think I posted this here, the idea of the player choosing complications. A ‘Risk vs Reward’ aspect. But it’d rely on the as of now - unimplemented in-game monetary system to “purchase” (unlock) items. No restrictions and playing the ETs however (even some had a type of restriction) = a lower reward. Add more restrictions for more rewards. :man_shrugging:

Or would the stakes be higher if you make a wager?

When you play the Bookkeeper Elusive Target and forgot during a silent take down with the SilverBaller that if you miss a head shot you’ll fail :joy::joy:

Still strongly against the idea of making the Performance Coins obtainable after their initial distribution. They were given out for a reason and I doubt IO will go back on that decision.

The description for the Outstanding Performance Coin is that they are reserved for a selected few. :man_shrugging:

IO should never have put anything in any game in this trilogy that every single player could not eventually have access to, regardless of platform or version.

Well that ship has certainly sailed - H3 introduced the platform specific suits and Stadia not only got its own suit but also a briefcase and a duck as well.

Hitman 2016 was also a very different structure and the FOMO of the first game was always prevalent, but IO handed out these coins to the early adopters of HITMAN 2016 when it was episodic for trusting the initial concept.

This trilogy is unfortunately a live service title that is expanded upon post launch so regardless people will miss out on items even when they are the most mundane like a coin.

I understand peoples sentiment that they want to own every item possible, but these coins were a sort of thank you for the people who adopted HITMAN 2016 during its first year and the trials and tribulations that it faced.

The limitations of the mode force me to find ways to challenge myself. This wasn’t too hard; the other escalations from this and previous batches may be significantly more difficult to pull off.

No loadout, no knockouts, no disguise changes, fast-ish but not speedy, ninja style.

Gameplay starts at 0:28.

Gameplay starts at 0:20 and it’s only waiting from 2:15 - 4:20, man.

That’s 100% wrong, sorry. They were given out for the GOTY edition upgrade. I didn’t play Hitman 2016 when it was episodic. I didn’t purchase it until a physical disc (steelbox case) was released for retail. It was originally called “The Complete First Season”.

EVERYONE who owned Hitman (whether the original episodic players or the CFS physical/digital release players like me) that upgraded to the GOTY edition got 1 set of those special coins.

Commemorative Elusive Target Unlock
If you played any of the Elusive Targets we released during Season One, we have created a small in-game reward that will only be available to a limited number of players. You’ll be awarded one of three coins, depending on your progress with Elusive Targets during their first activation. Progress is measured against simply playing an Elusive Target contract, successfully completing any Elusive Target contract and earning the Silent Assassin rating on an ET contract. The item will be granted when launching the game for the first time with the GOTY Update/Patch.
