Everything Star Wars v2

I absolutely did not mind the detour to Coruscant this episode!

Thrawn is officially back. And a direct reference to Heir to the Empire!

Thrawn have been officially back since the Rebels season 2 from 2017. But it’s a cool trailer though.

I’m left wondering if these dark side users are Inqusitors. They should be dead long before A New Hope, they could easily be another dark side clan like The Knights of Ren.

Oh, I know, despite never having seen Rebels. I know the character from the books.

I loved those books. They were pretty much the only new Star Wars that came out when I was a teenager.

Of course, then they flooded the market with a bunch of other crappy books until I got sick of it all. Except Thrawn. I still love it when he pops up.

Yeah, they were in that middle period between the original and prequel trilogies. We really had no idea that a second set of movies was even on the horizon yet. What a time!

Lizzo and Jack Black in mando is the biggest joke I’ve seen in years and I’m getting tired of the Mando-verse now.

It was not. They were ā€œfineā€. Not great, not terrible, just ā€œfineā€. Was this more of a filler episode than not? Yes. It still advanced the storyline. It still moved the plot along. It introduced some additional world-building and provided some additional background on the state of the galaxy.

To each their own, but I personally don’t like it when big celebrities make one off appearances. It’s random and in my opinion doesn’t reflect well on projects since it takes you out of the experience.

I think they were just really big fans who wanted gigs on the show. Did it come over well? Clearly not to some people.

I’ve never understood the concept of being taken out of an experience. I don’t think that’s ever happened to me.

As much as I like The Mandalorian, I never found it to be a top quality show. The format feels dated and more like a show from the 90’s like Hercules: Legendary Journey and Xena: Warrior Princess. To be brutally honest, quality wise it’s not much better than Rise of Skywalker, full of fan service and memberberries. Don’t get me wrong I love everything Star Wars, even when it’s bad. There is always something I love.

Yet the Mandalorian and especially season 3 doesn’t seem to have clear story arcs. We are already over halfway into the season and I’m not quite sure what the main focus of the story is. I didn’t like the Jack Black and Lizzo cameos, it felt stilted and nothing like Star Wars. I rather seen the Vespa gang from Book of Boba Fett again and that took me out of the Experience.

Andor is what I always expected from a Star Wars tv series. HBO quality. It’s easily in my top three of Star Wars media. 1) The Empire Strikes Back, The Last Jedi and Andor.

I didn’t hate the cameos but the story was terrible. The planet can’t have an army… fine. The planet can hire mercenaries to keep them safe… fine. The planet can’t use those mercenaries as a pseudo police force to stop robots from killing people but the planet can find two incredibly similar mercenaries to stop the robots… not buying it. Jack + Lizzo would have sent the mandalorians living on their planet in to fix the problem instead of just hoping someday someone else with a weapon would pop on by.

just been announced that Star Wars Visions Season 2 comes out on May 4th!

Another 9 new shorts reimagining Star Wars in unique ways from 9 new animation studios. This season has much less of a focus on Japanese animation, but a lot more diversity between 2D and 3D design.
Aardman Animations (Wallace and Gromit) have created an episode for this season!

Sometimes I really wish I could stomach animation… :frowning:

Like, animation in general? Why’s that?

I don’t know. I just can’t watch it. I wasn’t a fun kid.
I’ll watch the crappiest computer graphics without a problem. I’ll sit through the most boring movie… Animate it though? I immediately just can’t watch it. I lose interest and tune out.

Ep.7

Didn’t expect that much action and emotion without counting the bridges with the postlogy.
Ready for the finale!

With Season 3 being all over the place for Mando, the most recent episode was pretty solid.

I am finding (not sure if this is a good thing or not) that I’m really enjoying when ā€œfan theoriesā€ are proven wrong. Just this season I’ve seen articles in various places that were absolutely positive that:

  • Thrawn will definitely be in the show (wrong - although he was mentioned)
  • Ahsoka will show up (wrong)
  • The Armorer is a spy (wrong)
  • Axe is a spy (wrong)
  • Din will lead Mandalore (wrong)
  • Grogu will get his helmet (wrong)
  • Luke will re-appear (wrong)
  • Din will be killed (wrong)
  • Bo will be killed (wrong)

I know why headlines are what they are but it’s annoying when they continuously use words like ā€œmustā€, ā€œneedā€, ā€œhave toā€, etc. No…they don’t have to, need to or must do anything!

I liked the final episode of the season. It wrapped up the major storyline of the season. Few open threads left for later seasons or the movie that’s been announced.

I do wonder why jet pack fuel is suddenly not a problem. They jetted themselves all over the place this episode and no one had any problems with fuel. I thought they established that fuel was fairly limited when that kid was taken by the giant bird creature. Not a huge deal, just curious to me.
