Featured Contracts

It’s what Urben said, I remember this contract, it’s probably the guard near Block that trigger the panic and closed the exit if you bombed him with a propane or something.
Or you know, maybe you just, shot the constant or something…

But yeah, it’s a fun contract.

You’re right. I’ve shot the constant in the leg as a distraction to kill another guy there.

It’s really a great contract with a lot of possibilities. I’m still not sure if I’d be faster with the Keep or the Chapel start.

I have no idea how Chapel works but it’s very linear from the keep

What is the current system of submitting for featured contracts?

Used to be that Clemens started a topic for it, but I see none of that now. How do curators get selected? Is this selection communicated in advance? How can you run for curator? How do the curators select missions? Do they select people to make contracts according to the theme? Or do they select contracts that already exist and fit the theme? Where does this take place? Is it open to anyone or just for a closed circle every time?

Not complaining about the quality of featured contracts, but would appreciate a chance to submit ideas again.

There are no Featured Contracts any more, only Curated, and occasionally IO contracts. Every curator can pick how the contracts are decided, some chose to take submissions.

It seems this year if you reach out and impress the community manager enough they will consider you for curator but I can’t speak for other methods

Basically, it depends. But I think, as far as I know anyway, most if not all curators these days have just asked Samir if they can do a batch, with an idea in mind.

Some have had submissions still though, like Elite Institute’s Future Tech batch recently which was half submitted and half reaching out to specific creators to make a new contract. Some curators select older contracts that fit the theme or they just think are good - I think crewdy’s and quartz’s were mostly like this? The Combatglue picks have just been selected from the Fan Made Contracts thread. For the Starducks batch we had the theme, created contracts, prepared the images and sent it all to Samir saying ‘this is a batch that’s ready to go if you like it’.

I suspect there might be some more submission based batches in Year 5 as obviously a lot of people would like to see that, myself included.

I got asked by @Quartz_tan to create a contract for their batch. But I would love to curate some contracts with submissions open. Already have some ideas for the theme.

I dm combatglue to ask can I get a batch, then he say OK.I select 10 different missions in my batch.Actually contract itself not need to very close to theme because you can decide thumbnails titles or briefing to make it close to theme.Yes you can pick already exist contracts, but you can’t pick a contract include glitches sence last time combatglue pick some…

Actually with both they just asked for a cool contract to have in their batch, doesn’t matter if it’s a new you just made or an older one that at most you changed a little bit.

But @Franz as everyone else said, yeah just ask Samir, be nice and actually have an idea in mind.

You should dm CombatGlue, I bet it’ll be a great batch!

Thank you for all your replies.
As a curator, you test all submissions? How do you go about it when the contract was created on another platform?

When I was a curator and hosted a submissions thread (without HCCE), I asked submittors to submit Targets Locations with every submission if they were not on my platform (which back then was the PS, but now I got the game on Steam too).

But, of course some contracts do not appeal straight up from the conditions/kill methods/disguises themselves, so, whatever I did not want by looking at the conditions wasn’t recreated at all.

I recreated those that seemed interesting both from the menu and targets locations, seeing how they play out and if I actually want these in my batch.

I know it may sound cocky like “why won’t you give a real chance to every single contract?” I can sometimes tell when a contract is tedius or even bad just by looking at the menu, I won’t waste my time on contracts I wouldn’t pick anyway.

btw I actually only picked 6 from submissions, 1 was mine, 1 was Starducks, and I requested both Zubin and Deimatic to recreate their own contracts as I really liked those. So yeah, 6. I also recreated like 15 contracts so I guess that’s good enough.

TL;DR
Ask for Targets Locations and recreate whatever seems fun.

Very elegant solution with the Trip Wire!

Thanks! Proximity explosives tend to blow up too late if they are triggered by running guards, the trip wire works better.

Probably can’t finish every Featured Contract with 5 stars SA. There’s one (really annoying) contract: It’s easy but there’s a mandatory exit. As you have to get into the underground facility in Chongqing and going out of there as well, I can’t finish this contract. My game always crashes whenever I exit the facility and get to street level. Always has (at least as long as I remember). Don’t know why, did several re-installs and checked the files. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Are you in the Facility Analyst disguise? That disguise will crash when it gets wet, for some players.

In any disguise. It always crashes. Anyway I’ll try a different tactic.

Which contract are you refrencing?

The Night the Duck Cried
It’s not even a good contract. The kills are really easy and it’s just loaded with unnecessary complications.
