Freelancer - General Discussion

Huh, apparently I missed something, that’s quite useful. The shed seems to require level 32 so I have to do quite a lot before I get it.

Yeah not on normal mode, hardcore is a different case.

I personally like the objectives (they provide some tasks to focus on during the mission) but I wouldn’t mind seeing a more freeform, “easy” mode (just like there’s a “hardcore” mode) whithout objectives. It probably wouldn’t be too hard to implement, and could attract more casual players to Freelancer.

Lol you can invest in stocks, though the only gameplay involved is “push a button and you will either gain or lose money” I think. CEO mindset.

I have reached mastery level 31 with bedroom unlocked, and there is a “hide” interaction next to the bed. Guess there would be something similar to the 7DS Dartmoor mission happening in the safehouse?

Hi there, got a quick question - is there a place in game where I can review the hints I’ve been given while playing Freelancer mode? There’s some things I missed through a mispress and I’d like to go over them again!

Since its probably the only hiding space in the entire safehouse, I highly doubt it. They probs just wanted a closet to have in 47’s room, and it just so happens to be one of the hide-able ones

I’m pretty sure all or most of the hints you get can be reviewed in the Intel menu when at the safehouse.

Aha, found it, thanks!

Last night I saw an obvious suspect/assassin duo in Miami and I took them out swiftly, I’m glad I did I found it’s an easy way to get a silenced weapon!

It’s more of a “put all your money into stocks and watch everything go into the red” type thing.

Feel like a member of r/WallStreetBets, over here.

After getting very frustrated yesterday, I’ve calmed things down and have reached the kitchen. Progress.

So far the freelancer mode is pretty decent imo. The right amount of challenge mixed with a good amount of fun. My experience had it ups and downs. Today I failed my first campaign at 80% in after I got barraged in NY while exiting the map. The last fatal bullet went through me as I held the exit button. Its been a while since I was this frustrated. So as you normally do I started from scratch in NY and killed everyone on the map. (Nothing to lose after all). Currently Im 40% into my second attempt.

The safehouse aesthetics are off the charts too btw

One question Im left with: how do I change the decoration in the safehouse after I chose it? Cant figure that one out

I’m not a fan of the fact that you can’t hide unconscious suspects anymore. I understand why they wanted to remove the exploit of trying to hide suspects so the game tells you if they’re a target or not, but I think that was the wrong way to do it.

In case any IOI people are checking this thread, I’m just gonna throw out my suggestion for a better solution.

Remember how in Hitman 2016 there was an annoying issue where if you dumped a body in a container without first taking their disguise you would lose access to that disguise? Hitman 2 solved this by adding the “change disguise” button prompt for bodies that are inside containers.

Let’s get a similar solution here. Allow players to hide all suspects, including the target. Then add a “snap neck” button prompt to unconscious suspects in containers. There doesn’t even need to be an animation or anything for it, just have them die when the button is pressed.

This would have no downsides, as it would remove the exploit without punishing players that aren’t trying to use the exploit. And as far as immersion is concerned, it makes logical sense that 47 would still be able to kill someone that’s in a container, (just as he can still take the disguise of someone in a container.)

A prompt appears in Instinct (triangle on PS) when you’re standing next to it.

If you are tired of collecting clues for the showdown missions and just want to get it over with, I am sharing a simple quick guide where you don’t lose any merces

It’s probably been discussed before, but New York is super good to collect Merces. The vault has 3 freestanding Merces coins on a pedestal, and the data core is replaced with a “extract money” interaction that gives loads of Merces as well. Got around 12k just from the vault.
