I just lost my Druzihna Arctic, ancestral pistol and scrap smg in the very first level of a campaign.
The fact that the campaign itself is not lost makes it somehow even more painful.
What was a playful trick with a radio somehow ended up in a mass shooting on the Mendoza parking lot. I took a great many with me, but they took my precious weapons
Just got him as a target too and didn’t see him do that at all. Normal mission, no alert.
Dumb question but how do you ignite the oil canister after spilling it? I thought shooting at the spill would work but nothing’s happening. Neither did a taser work.
You can ignite it by shooting an object (the cannister works) that is sitting on the oil.
Okay so I closed the game and tested the oil canister again and this time it worked by shooting the spill…
Looks like since both the targets were on a carpet, it didn’t work somehow. Kinda annoying.
Also, shooting the canister directly creates a loud explosion, where as shooting the spill is silent.
It works pretty reliably if I drop a crowbar, a wrench, or a pistol I took from an incapacitated guard in the oil spill and shoot that object.
It didn’t work when I tried it with non-metal objects, but that could be a coincidence.
Shooting the oil spill itself sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t.
Is this mentioned anywhere in the tips inside the game? I would’ve never thought of placing a random object in the spill and then shooting it lol.
No, I picked that up when someone either on here or on Reddit shared the tip. Never would’ve tried that otherwise, honestly. I’d given up on oil canister accidents.
Alright, thanks. Also wondering whether if it counts as an explosion accident or fire accident if I directly shoot the canister, which causes a fire-y explosion.
Pretty sure the description of the Fire Accident - Oil Canister objective says shooting the canister doesn’t count.
I waited about 10 minutes before giving up.
I believe it wasn’t alerted, but I went and checked the mission on master and he has the same route and doesn’t drink. So maybe it was?
Oh yeah, start me on top of the stupid high rise thing in alerted paris, with guards everywhere.
Of course I died. Stupid game.
Just let the guards escort you to the garden and there’s no need to die
Although yeah that start is pretty useless in Freelancer since it’s only useful for sniping contracts, and you can’t really plan that beforehand if you don’t know where the targets are.
Got a few questions for you all:
- Every mission I can
- Most of the time
- Not very often
- None of the time/not anymore

Haha I wasn’t afraid to admit I’m terrified of Hardcore mode
On that subject, does anyone know if you loose all your tools on the weapon wall if you start Hardcore mode? I understand the loot crates, but I’m just curious about the weapon wall?
You keep your weapons on the walls, thank God.
But you reset your tool boxes basically.
Yes - I’m afraid of it (and I like that).
I’m also in the “not very often” camp for the objectives/perfect run stuff, but I do have an interest in doing challenge runs involving doing them all in the future.
Sort of like how there’s still a bunch of main missions I haven’t done Sniper Assassin on yet, because I still have doing them in a stylish SA/SO way in mind for the future. Sometimes I appreciate things being in the game even if I’m not playing with them yet.
Now that I’m grinding out specific challenges, Objectives and Merces are on the sideline. I often don’t even grab a Prestige Objective either.
Currently whittling away at 100 Headshots with a Druzhina 34.
