BIG mistake in my opinion, this won’t end well :grimacing:

Prestige Objective Picks

We’ve tweaked the logic of Prestige Objectives to ensure that you cannot get more than one from the same category (Silent Assassin, Timed, Multikill).

This will help with hardcore runs. Now they did exactly what some of us have requested. Each computer having its own objective style…somewhat.

That’s awesome.

Was this in the patch notes?

Doesn’t look like it, but if it works as expected, then it is certainly a nice new prestige objective to have.

Awesome!! Are there any more new prestige objectives?

Looks the coin has not been added. I’ve collected all missing tools, and I have yet to find it. It was not in crate, nor at supplier. I don’t know how they’ve missed it, it seems like most requested bug fix in freelancer.

I know a friend who is literally waiting to come back just for the missing coin. I haven’t found it, but I haven’t had much time to look yet.

You won’t be able to find it, it’s literally impossible to obtain without some undiscovered tin foil hat theory

I think they just forgor :skull:
Btw, did you notice they have updated the Freelancer background to view of 47’s safehouse? I remember I downloaded mod to replace it, but I guess it became obsolete now.

It is in the patch notes, I think it should of been there from launch, it looks amazing!

After playing Prestige for a few hours, I can say it isn’t too bad honestly! It will be a big grind for the Prestige V challenge as you have to collect your entire Freelancer weapon arsenal and tools 10 times each by that point but the merces payout increases are already becoming noticeable even on the first Prestige level. So to those thinking of trying it, just be aware of the grind and see whether you’re up for the challenge!

I’m going to attack these new challenges in boosts I think whenever I have free time. I’ve still got Top Dog and Employee of the Year to go so still a long way until the coveted 100%!

I discovered the hard way that if you Kalmer someone while they’re in the process of dying from lethal poison, the sedative overrides it. All in the name of trying to get an extra objective at the end of a campaign.

Made it out alive but this was the epitome of a hairy situation. For some reason the timestamp field is ignored so you might need to manually go to 07:45:45 to see the action.

I’ve done it! Thanks to that scarlet suit I bet! Never took it off once since I started Hardcore.

Hardcore isn’t near-impossible as I’d initially thought on paper.

Focusing only on the Prestige objective per mission and working your basic objectives around that makes for very careful and sometimes great missions.
(I still don’t see myself ever doing Silent Assassin on a Prestige for HC. One person spots me, and everything is over. Now that’s awful.)

I do still have issues with it that I’ll gladly swap back to Normal Mode for – everything being on Master mode for once is jarring – even less key items on the map, small changes in routes, NPCs spotting ultra-quick, audible footsteps were really tough to work with.

And the Showdowns being stuffed with targets right out the gate made it really really tough to finish… I’ll admit I used a Close Game on some of them given how fast I’d get spotted by a Lookout that causes a chain reaction of Evacuations.

I’m gonna continue until I die then swap back to Normal.
Nearly finished my weapon wall, but there’s definitely something wrong with how it’s selling me weapons. Because it isn’t. At all. 3 missions in a row, I’ve had no pistols appear in the shop even though there’s 3 unfilled Rare spaces & one Legendary.
Is this a Hardcore bug, because I don’t think I’ve seen this happen when I was playing the game on normal. That pistol slot was always available.

Well, at least Alt+f4 still has functional (albeit tedious) alternatives, unlike the other two…

Still works on consoles I believe. Either disable exploits there as well or if they can’t then just restore Alt-F4.

Too impatient to finish my hardcore campaign before hitting the shiny new prestige button so I went into alerted Hokkaido with a banana, a grape knife, and an improvised explosive.

Didn’t even have to use the banana :triumph:

I switched to Hardcore just to finally try it!

30 minutes into Miami, 3 targets, final target. Lured them into the underpass and stabbed them with a kitchen knife. As I was doing this, they turned and saw me stab them. This ruined Silent Assassin, which failed the campaign…

My final target, after 30 minutes, saw me killing them and failed the campaign…

Silent Assassin in a story mission is fun! Story Targets have so much “life” put into them, and the game’s “eat the rich” attitude oozes irony and “justice” for their inevitable demise. Hell, even in Master Mode, you can save once.

Freelancer Hardcore Silent Assassin takes all the frustrating elements of Hitman and amplifies them. It doesn’t make it unplayable, it just forces you to play in a very specific way. The safest way.

Yeah, this is why I avoid SA Prestige Obj. nearly every mission unless I’m absolutely sure its doable.

Even then, I’ve mostly failed it on the slightest mess-up.

I’ve only finished 6/10 SA objectives required for the challenge trophy, and its been many months since launch :joy:

Marvellous for you, I suppose.
