If they don’t update freelancer this month, or announce something about it in the upcoming roadmap, I’d say they are done with the mode. Sadly.
I think you’re right, but there’s no way IOI are closing off without further updates to Freelancer.
What is the best way for the Cold Feet challenge in Freelancer? I have completed most of the Freelancer challenges but this one is still a mystery to me.
It just doesn’t work. I exit the mission without eliminating all targets and nothing happens. The progress counter is stuck at 3/20. It’s been like that for months now.
Did a patch change anything? First time I made this challenge work was in Mumbai. But when I try to replicate it with the same steps, it doesn’t work anymore.
Sounds like a bug to me, I was able to complete it quite some time ago without any issues. I assume it doesn’t make a difference if the territory is alerted or not?
No, it does not. The “result” is always the same.
I seem to remember there was a challenge that only registered progress when you do not skip the exit cutscene and also wait during the result screens. Could’ve been this one but it’s been too long since I did it.
I got it by repeatedly exiting the first two levels of a campaign until the challenge unlocked (it’s 10 campaigns failed if you start from nothing, so it’s better to do this while already low on merces).
Could be it’s only the display that’s bugged and it will still unlock for you eventually?
There’s been nothing but prestige added. They didn’t even add new gear or items to get like Christmas and Halloween stuff. They could have even reused items that are already in the game, especially from holiday hoarders. It’s not like they had to create it.
I have now officially hit Prestige Level 9! After 58 more campaigns I will have Top Dog done and have 100% in Freelancer. To reach my goal of completing it by Jan 26, I’ll need to do over 3 campaigns a day. It’ll be tough but I think I can do it since if I ignore objectives I can get a campaign done in under 2 hours. Doing all the objectives I can prestige in 4 or 5 campaigns, without doing the objectives I’m sure I’ll still be able to have everything collected in 58 campaigns for Prestige Level 10.
Now you might be thinking I messed up when I said I’ll be finished when I get Top Dog done. After all, Employee of the Year expects the player to kill 125 Campaigns’ worth of Leaders. Well, a few days ago I had a really easy target I could snipe in Miami so I decided to spend the next 3 or so hours alt-F4ing the mission over and over until I had enough progression so the final Leader I kill in Campaign 100 will be the 500th Leader killed. I found it really funny how fast I levelled up when I finally finished the mission. Fittingly, the XP got me to level 2024!
Yeah, but…. why?
Respect.
What kind of time do you have on your hands?!
I almost reached prestige level 4 with 20 completed campaigns, 1360 killled members, 139 killed leaders and 19/25 poisoned targets (the other challenges are completed)
Just failed a mission in a way I never knew existed in my 75 days playing Hitman 3.
Was playing in Mendoza, and went into the underground bit (the big room near the wetsuit exit with the stairs up to the mansion basement).
In that room, there is a fire alarm button, and if you activate it, it will bring down water from sprinklers on the ceiling that creates a large puddle in the center of the room. ALSO in the center of that room, is a faulty hose pipe/wire thing which starts off in the activated state meaning the newly created puddle is automatically electrocuted.
I accidentally pressed the fire alarm instead of opening the door to the changing room corridor, and went to run the other way back to the wine barrel room to retreat, and ran straight into this newly electrified puddle I never knew existed! Was so confused as to what had happened…
How do we know the Christmas and Halloween decorations won’t get added this year? I’m not part of the leaks section, but there was loads of suits seen in there that have only just been added to the game, despite being seen in the files for some time. It’s clear that IOI have the Easter, Halloween and Christmas decorations in the game files somewhere as they have been seen in the Freelancer launch trailer, so we’ll just have to see what content we get. What you suggested though around adding the holiday hoarders Christmas items with potential Safehouse Christmas decorations definitely makes sense and is a great idea. IOI could do something similar for Easter and Halloween items as well.
I just feel like why skip those items after the first Halloween and Christmas especially after freelancer didn’t get much for updates throughout the year.
Only IOI have those answers, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what the next few months bring. I’m still hoping we get them.
Plus, we still have the missing coin saga ongoing, so that will no doubt be fixed this year
But, but, I thought that was no doubt going to be fixed last year!
Gotta say, I now think the ideal way to level up in Freelancer is to not worry about completing all the objectives and go very quickly through the mode!
Playing carefully and doing all the objectives, it would take about 5 days and 5 campaigns to reach another Prestige level. However, since I’m on the grind now, I mainly used explosive Ducks/phones on targets that would take some time to isolate and I only fulfilled objectives if they didn’t take up any extra time. I also tried to choose Prestige Objectives that would be easy to do (Headshot - Legendary, Collateral Explosion, all the Timed ones, etc.) and every Leader got a duck as a present. Through this strategy, it took 7.5 Campaigns to get all the weapons but I was able to do it in only 2 days!
(By the way, big thanks to @thrison for pointing out that you can alt-f4 after reaching Prestige level 10 to get the challenge ticked off but still keep all of the weapons and not need to recollect them.)
We don’t know what has been delayed or put on the back burner temporarily since Clemens has left IOI? After all, he was the Community manager for Hitman taking things back to the Devs, but I don’t believe his position has been replaced yet? I also remember there was a post on here (not that long ago actually) where IOI acknowledged the issue and even gave some hints of it being fixed in the future.
And even then, his communications to us were iffy at best. Not blaming him, his bosses limited what he was allowed to say, they just sort of used him to placate us with slightly more info now and then that didn’t really tell us anything so that we’d stop bugging them for a while. And then all we did was whine to him when something he was told to tell us didn’t pan out, including myself. His was a truly thankless job, God bless him.
