“FInally completed that stupid silent assassin prestige objective on Bangkok, now I’ll just need to get to the exi-”

Guys, I poured oil cannister for fire kill & tried to activate it using taser, it doesn’t work :upside_down_face:

Edit: OK, Breaching Charge work but be careful you might kill the target by explosion & not fire accident. Or you can shoot it but I just saying in case you have “no firearms” objective activated.

Had the exact same thing happening to me. Followed everyone around and when I found someone who checked all the boxes I put a round through their head. As it turns out the actual target was a dude without a tattoo while the description said he should have one. Kinda dumb tbh.

Why isn’t this available offline? There aren’t any leaderboards, so there isn’t a reason to keep this from offline mode! Please make at least a second reason to play this game offline. Escalations, Contracts, Elusive Targets all require an internet connection, but Some stuff needs to be available offline; Just in case people lose the internet.

17 more guns and the wall is complete (minus the mastery-required ones).

1 more sniper
4 pistols
3 sub-machine guns
3 shotguns
6 assault rifles

One thing that really irks me in freelancer is that once you get compromised, you don’t care anymore about being compromised again. It just makes gameplay kinda contradictory to what 47 (the myth) is.

how do you resolve that though?

Nothing in this game other than the base gameplay maps is available offline and never has been, likely won’t be until about ten years from now, if ever. It’s aggravating, but should not be surprising.

Holy crap, is that you… sounding like me?!

I thought I’d try Ansel to better study a potential suspect. He was the first one I encountered for the Showdown. Then I Hit F4 instead of F2. :joy:

An anguished “Noooo!” is what I said.

Maybe it’s Ctrl+F2? Well, I’ll be certain to make a note of it when I get back into the game.

Edit: It IS Alt+F2, but I’m going to pop out the F4 button. Now the only way I’ll be able to press it is with the end of a chopstick I have nearby.

Well, I haven’t followed the entire topic, but I like Freelancer quite a lot, better than I expected. It solves so many of the issues I’ve had with the base game, like most items being useless (especially heavy weapons), the only playstyle “officially” being recognized by the game was all-or-nothing Silent Assassin and nothing else, etc.

Brilliant.

The safehouse is also cooler and more interesting than I expected it to be. I want a house with a tree growing inside the living room.

Kudos to IOI!

Agreed! I didn’t have high expectations but this game mode is like a breath of fresh air into the series. The main thing is indeed that it rewards different playstyles.
When I look back on previous games now (not counting H:C47 which already had the balance exactly right) I can almost only remember sneaking through the game, being silent, avoiding loud weapons, avoid explosions.
I feel like the hulk finally ripping through the fabric of silent assassin that was constraining him for too long.
And at the same time I can find the comforting warmth of that mode too, through prestige challenges.
Win win.

Spoiler question: What does the office do? Does it give you anything you can take into missions?

Mrw I die on the last showdown mission in my campaign

There were plenty of instances that allowed explosives and still allowed SA gameplay. Very specify ones, but they’re there.

Ofc, explosives can be used to trigger an evacuation in the embassy and drop the ceiling in Paris and that’s just like the first 3 missions

BUG:

I equipped the antique curved knife for a prestige objective, then deployed to Paris. When the mission started, the knife was missing from my inventory. I shut off the console and tried again. Same problem.

Edit:
Same problem with the burial dagger. I’m tired of shutting off the console, so I’m just going to take the loss.

Double edit:
I KO’d a guard, took his disguise, and now I have the dagger.

Sometimes you get lucky with the objectives.
I got a showdown on Whittleton Creek with “Silenced Pistol Kill”, “Kill Guards with SMG” and “Kill Guards with Sniper”.

I just sedative gassed Nolans house and proceeded to SMG/snipe the knocked out guards.

A few suspects were in there as well, so I grabbed a burner phone to draw more in.

A few moments later Diana informed me that “The leader is on to you” as one of the suspects walked through the front door and was knocked out by the gas.

Shot that suspect in the head and fucked off. Easiest objectives / showdown ever.

I don’t have everything unlocked, but so far, I found a letter opener in there.

Also, some of the cheevo trophies are showcased in the office bookshelf.

There is improvement for this but overall Freelancer is a solid 8/10 for me. It simply captures exactly the atmosphere of being 47 within the Agency and travelling the world. But at the moment, you don’t even need to focus on any side objective, even on Hardcore Mode. That means you can blitz your way through maps with little punishment (very fun though).

IO needs to reexamine the Alerted Territories as a way of not punishing the player “just cause difficulty” but have these as a punishment for the player failing to do well on your previous missions. The campaign feature wants to be a enclosed connected series of events - yet nothing really gels together as if they are still individual worlds/timelines.

This can be improved using the notoriety feature from Blood Money enticing players to not just blast their way through the map as that would increase the danger of the next level of the campaign. All while rewarding players who complete the objectives with Silent Assassin. There is little reason to do any objectives other than money (which is super easy to collect and nothing long term substanial to buy with) or forced through Hardcore.

Notoriety would entice players to actually combine the tasks while staying stealthy as possible as 47 is supposed to be. Otherwise, people start getting alerted in the upcoming levels. At the current moment, the guards and target are alerted because their mate died - no matter how, must have been an assassin…right…
