So even if the mission is successful and you leave a weapon on the ground before going out you will still lose it?! Is it correct?

Yes. Correct. You have to leave the mission with it in your inventory.

Haha, if you use the “fish” prompt, there is chance that 47 will fish… driftwood.

And damn is it fun to run around the safehouse for selected items from time to time. In this case I have both “eliminate 3 guards shotguns” and “eliminate 3 guards assault rifle” in whittleton creek.
So, fishing a fish, then use one of the knife on the wall to have some sedative, for the fumigation.
It runs well.

Do kitchen knives appear in the kitchen eventually, or do you have to use one of your weapon knives?

Wait, its possible to get fish? I’ve tried fishing five times straight and all I got was driftwoods. I once bring one to mission & it will stored in a briefcase.

Used one of mine. I suspect that the second kitchen upgrade at higher mastery will have one. Currently there are none.

I only got driftwood and a fishing line so far… We did catch fish in the CTT, so hopefully the RNG will be merciful next time.

Well, that’s crap. Not only are they not cut (no pun) out for that task, but 47 wouldn’t use a weapon meant for killing on cutting up fish. I guess maybe the tanto or folding knife, but it seems so undignified to treat his work tools that way.

When I went fishing for the first time, I got five pieces of driftwood, a starfish, more driftwood, Jarl‘s pirate saber and then finally the first fish. My luck improved a bit the next times I went fishing, but getting driftwood is still fairly common.

I always grab the one from the dartboard outside

That’s a grape knife, though. Doesn’t really help the whole “immersion” angle IOI was going for. 47 needs a kitchen knife and a meat cleaver on that counter.

Something interesting:
The regular objective “Poison target - with poisonous dart” is unlocked with the regular sedative Kalmer. No need to use the Sieker.

Well yeah because its a sedative (poison) dart ain’t it?

You know, I now wish IOI would release just a few more brand new Elusive Targets for the game. Not only would it now make sense because of the transition to WoA as a unified game to make ETs for Mumbai, New York, Haven and Ambrose Island, as well as make new ETs for Miami, Santa Fortuna, Whittleton Creek, Dubai, Berlin and Chongqing, but the showdown mechanic in Freelancer I think would give some of us (like me) a new appreciation for the hunt for the target, now that we have to actively hunt for our primary targets in a manner that we’ve never had before. I’ve always studied up on the methods others used before ever tackling an ET, but now with having to absolutely wing it in the way Freelancer has introduced us to, I think I might actually enjoy that challenge.

There seems to be ONE, count it: One unmodded map “variation” in Freelancer @Kevin_Rudd
(on PS5)

And that’s Haven Island.
I just experienced this during a showdown mission there, so I don’t know if it’s exclusive to it or not.

I spawned in while the storm was looming overhead, and as far as I could tell, I didn’t see Tyson or Ljudmila or Bradley at all while running around the map.
The storm and the grey filter made it a bit difficult to see the suspects details out in the open, but the higher winds and rumbling thunder made it a cool “finale” type event.
So, there ya go. One map out of 18 with targets actually out of the picture, courtesy of IOI themselves haha

Someone had solve for “easteregg”?

To the left of the bridge on the way to the helicopter (chest and shovel glows with instinct)

New York is some kind of variant as well, the map I usually get has tons on new NPCs everywhere (even in the vault and Savalas’ office, which doesn’t make much sense), and the security room near the vault is locked with the black box put where most of the guards are. But I think I also got the “normal” NY map once?

And of course Berlin is the superior agent-less version.

Not able to find “Destroy Evidence” in Dartmoor, got caught by security camera and not able to find the cctv recorder to destroy evidence. Lost my 3k mercs …

Finished Hardcore mode…never again!

A few things I’ve learned doing it:

The normal objectives for each map don’t matter at all. If one pops up you can reasonably do, fine, but don’t even try to go further than a single extra inch for them. The Prestige objectives are the only ones that matter for that mode.

Don’t bother trying to purchase tools unless you actually need them. Trying to fill the toolbox during hardcore mode is pointless since you’ll lose them all and have to start over often, and when you go back to normal mode at the end anyway.

Timed objectives are HORRIBLE in this mode. I wouldn’t even consider trying one during the showdowns.

Objective management, and keeping the number of targets and safes is critical. You can re-select both the map and the prestige objectives as much as you want before you start the mission so make sure you can do the objective before you get onto the map. It’s easy to select a “Open Safe with Explosive” objective and then wind up in a map that doesn’t have a safe.

Make sure you have a sufficient arsenal built up before you start Hardcore Mode! There are a lot of objectives for using Epic weapons to kill targets and if you don’t have one, you’re in trouble. Don’t jump into hardcore until you’re ready!

Lastly, take you time doing it. There is absolutely no need to rush though the map and if suspects start to flee, you’re probably going to be in trouble unless you get really lucky. Go slow and steady instead of trying to run through the whole mode.

I am so glad that is over, yet so glad I managed it!

Honestly your description sounds like hardcore mode has A LOT of balance issues, which doesn’t fill me with confidence. I already spent just under 18 hours completing one campaign, I think that’s my limit, and even that is already pushing the boat out. As I said during the CTT, the levels should be shorter, not longer (there’s a reason Roguelikes like Hades and Crypt of the Necrodancer are short games that have short dungeons/ levels; sure a run may be a 2-3 hours long, but not anywhere close to what Freelancer is asking, making a defeat much more palatable). It feels really aggravating and punishing spending so much time in a game for it to be wiped away so easily, and it just demotivated me. I only continued for wiki editing purposes essentially. I’m in no rush to spend 5 hours a day doing a run again anytime soon. Hitman burnout is real, yo.

Timed objectives on Professional are also quite, and I dislike using the term but it’s accurate, bitchy. One of my early runs had me try and kill a soldier in the abandoned school sleeping on the top floor…while I was in the car park…in two minutes. I was three seconds out and lost the objectives’ payout. >:/

That felt insanely unfair, and it’s put me off taking any timed challenges because of how ludicrously precise the timed requirement was. I knew from playing Marrakesh in the base game prior that I wasn’t going to make it, but I’m glad the game itself made sure my hunch was right.
