Freelancer - General Discussion

Yes. When you start hardcore mode (or exit it and go back to normal mode) all Tools are lost, but weapons are not. You will lose all of your Merces if you fail a mission in hardcore mode. All maps are alerted in that mode.

There is an Alt-F4 option on the Playstation. @Diana47 wrote a description of how to do it. If you search her posts, you should be able to find it.

You turn off your network in settings. The game will notify you that it’s disconnected and prompt you to Retry or Return to Menu. Return to menu, go back to PlayStation settings and reconnect to network, go back to game and connect to server.

I think you can hard quit the game too and it’ll function like the above method, but don’t quote me on that.

Sadly the broadsword’s not part of the weapons you can keep, it’s one of the first things I tried to take back from Sgail

For what it’s worth, you can also just close the Hitman app from the PS5 homescreen and restart it. I found that simpler than having to dig around all the settings menus.

Thx for both of you for your quick responses!

Definitely will try HC mode after I recover all weapons from missions. HC mode will be a huge step beyond Hitman 2016 Pro mode difficulty :fearful:

I just poisoned a leader with poisonous frog in Ambrose but it didn’t count towards “Natural Selection” challenge. Is that supposed to happen or is it a bug??

I’m now assuming you completed the regular missions throughout the series on the first go, with a silent assassin rating when applicable?

I already screwed up when escaping the asylum, when I thought that friendly looking orderly wanted to strike up a conversation with me.

Luckily I was not demoralised!

Is is just me, or did freelancer and this update absolutely break the “combat” state? Sometimes I’ll get into combat or compromised when there is absolutely no way that guards could know I did something. Additionally, when a civilian reports something to a guard, you’ll briefly enter the combat state, even when you can be like halfway across the map from the incident and the guard should have no idea where you are.

I don’t want to definitely say yes, but there have been plenty of moments (in Freelancer) where I’d run by a totally non-suspicious guard, who immediately gets clued into me having done something wrong and opens fire on me (while not being near said event, and not in searching mode). It feels very weird and unearned. (Though I know guards have some logic that if you’re close enough to an illegal event, they can very quickly tie you to the crime and go right into combat
)

I had eliminated the final leader in my 2nd campaign, in Santa Fortuna, but got gunned down while completing the side objectives. Trying to gain 1000 Mercers led to me losing 50k and all my tools including Sieker and Kalmer. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Going after couriers without bananas is the easiest way to turn a successful run into a complete disaster :x

As I work my way through the freelancer mode, I can’t help but have a surplus of money.
I think, can we implement a customized weapon for each category that can be enhanced with money like in “HITMAN BLOOD MONEY”?
Someone may have already suggested this

My idea is this.

∙ Custom baller, custom SMG, custom shotgun, custom assault rifle, custom sniper rifle, each weapon is initially obtained as just a firearm with nothing attached.

・The firearms will have a “firearm level” and the options will have a “cost”.
The maximum “cost” can be increased by paying money to increase the “firearm level”.

・Options can be given by paying a high amount of money within the “cost” range.
Options can include suppressor, subsonic, extended magazine, full auto, penetrating ammo, ammo, damage, sight stabilization, variable scope, extended scope, high performance scope, and Ave Maria.

・Weapons that have been modified will be lost if they are died in a mission, and if they are reacquired, the modification must be redone from the beginning.

TIL the Colorado merchant counts as a guard for the “kill 3 guards with weapon x” objectives

Can’t beat those Silent Assassin prestige objectives!

I killed the supplier in Sgail once because he was dressed as a guard. He dropped a gun which I picked up and got for free. Haha.

Sure. But I was mostly thinking about that fact that if I wanna complete all the challenges and the prestige it will have to be Silent Assassin - No Fire Arms - Suit Only, no matter which way i slice it.
