Freelancer - Pre-Release Discussion

I feel hollow now that the technical test is over. :frowning:

Almost three months to go then. Looking forward to the full version.

Well that is what it is, the purpose of the CTT is to test how people deal with the game being suddenly stripped off something fun in respect of the demand for a proper offline mode in case everything goes offline some day. :smirk:

TV. Physical newspapers. Movie theatres.

Are these still a thing?

A laptop. That is it.

It is a TV, a movie theatre, a streaming device, a newspaper, to watch YouTube videos, comment on web forums like this one.

1 merces could not be worth 1 million usd, a dealer in the game sold me an epic silenced pistol for 145 merces, and no handgun is worth 145 million. but f a real blackmarket high-risk dealer is selling a gun to me at an ouragious mark-up price lets say $16,250.oo - so, this could mean a merces might be like a “dark-ops” bit coin - valued at $250usd. So, a =M=300 legendary weapon might be equivalent to $75,000.oo But so what anyway, its only a silly game,. I am enjoying the technical preview and the game play is painfully delisious.

I have enough Hope (or Cope) left to believe before H3 ever goes offline forever theyll release a smal patch enabling everything offline.
(small patch because most things are already moddable to be always offline even the fanmade percursor to ET Arcade)

Yeah. Not to play games.

That was just a guess I had way back when we had no further info. Clearly it cannot be representative of that much. As it is, that was when we were under the impression that missions had a base payout. That’s not happening either.

I share the same hope. And if IOI let us down on an eventual fully featured Offline mode…

Now I’m just imagining 47 being so monumentally impressed with the handicraft of a pistol he seriously agrees to pay $145,000,000 for it

Well done my friend!! :grin::clap:t2:

Now that’s interesting, good question? Has this been confirmed whether Diana is present or not in Mendoza?

Would be weird having her there when she’s giving a briefing out to 47 about eliminating syndicate leaders/targets etc prior to arriving in Mendoza, but then she suddenly appears there as well? :joy:

It might be a case of she’s removed from the mission, very much like Elusive Targets. After all, Freelancer is more or less themed after H3 so her removal makes sense if that’s the case.

I didn’t see her on the couple of Freelancer Mendoza attempts I played.

Suppose that makes sense given Freelancer seems to be themed after H3’s events. Removing Diana makes total sense :slightly_smiling_face:

Both her and Tamara were gone from Mendoza. Don was still wandering about, but that’s it.

How many hours did it take to beat Freelancer beta test?

The Freelancer released in Jan 2023 will have all the maps and I assume is at least 4x as big.

Very interesting, thanks for letting me know.

Like I’ve mentioned in another thread, I suppose it’s very much like Holiday Hoarders and the Special Assignment missions when there is in fact new targets, but we ignore the presence of the campaign targets walking around.

I’ll be honestly im hopped up on hopium because this seems like the perfect mode to finally introduce proper offline functionality for

Also for the people discussing the Mendoza changes - Tamara and Diana being gone were ET changes. The hitman 3 maps seem to use a mix of master mode and ET layouts and I hope that means Dubai will get those extra NPCs it had in its ET. Another thing from ETs is Berlin doesnt have any agents for example

According to Steam when I finished the campaign, I had played for 24.7 hours. And that was me marathoning it at about 6 hours a night over the beta time.

Wow, then Freelancer is likely to take more than 100 hours if the beta is just 1/4 of the size of the final version. How many target kills did you complete in Hokkaido? I ask this because one of the Freelancer achievements listed are 100 target kills in Hokkaido.

I had about 350 targets killed with 47.9 hours of playtime, so about 7.3 targets killed per hour of playtime. So for me to stick with that speed, the GOAT challenge which requires 10,000 kills would take about 1370 hours of playing just this mode (and during that time presumably most/all of the other challenges would get completed too in this time).

They clearly want us to invest a lot of time into playing this…

I think I only did 4 targets in Hokkaido. Because that map was really hard, and resulted in 2 of my 3 campaign failures. Due to spawning in the morgue, along with it being alerted and there being like ten people wandering around the spawn point half of which were guards and assassins. Thus getting out of there alive was damn near impossible.
