I find it funny that Freelancer is supposed – or isn’t it? – to be this hardcore game mode where you can fail big time when you slip up BUT the game allows you to use all mechanics that make the game easier (NPC icons, instinct,…).
It feels contradictory, although I definitely understand why they’re not disabled by default.
I am looking forward to playing the full game mode next year – without those “aids”.
And I will definitely curse myself for even writing this come January.
I also play without the NPC circles, the minimap and I use instinct very sparingly, because it removes the suspense of not knowing if an enemy is around the corner. From the videos I saw I think it would be much more difficult to play with this style, if not impossible.
I also don’t like much the appearance of the new suspects, in some locations like Hokkaido they seem completely out of place. The less emphasis on SA could be good but killing non targets should remain an exception. The conflicting optional objectives should be fixed because they make no sense at all.
That might just be added because it’s a Common sniper, and they needed it to feel less-useful than the Sieger 300 Viper (Epic) that doesn’t have an animation.
Ah, I see… Well I´d still prefer if they just added that animation to all the Sieger rifles throughout the whole game. It just looks cooler, even if it takes longer to (un)pack.
Well that is what it is, the purpose of the CTT is to test how people deal with the game being suddenly stripped off something fun in respect of the demand for a proper offline mode in case everything goes offline some day.
1 merces could not be worth 1 million usd, a dealer in the game sold me an epic silenced pistol for 145 merces, and no handgun is worth 145 million. but f a real blackmarket high-risk dealer is selling a gun to me at an ouragious mark-up price lets say $16,250.oo - so, this could mean a merces might be like a “dark-ops” bit coin - valued at $250usd. So, a =M=300 legendary weapon might be equivalent to $75,000.oo But so what anyway, its only a silly game,. I am enjoying the technical preview and the game play is painfully delisious.
I have enough Hope (or Cope) left to believe before H3 ever goes offline forever theyll release a smal patch enabling everything offline.
(small patch because most things are already moddable to be always offline even the fanmade percursor to ET Arcade)
That was just a guess I had way back when we had no further info. Clearly it cannot be representative of that much. As it is, that was when we were under the impression that missions had a base payout. That’s not happening either.
Now that’s interesting, good question? Has this been confirmed whether Diana is present or not in Mendoza?
Would be weird having her there when she’s giving a briefing out to 47 about eliminating syndicate leaders/targets etc prior to arriving in Mendoza, but then she suddenly appears there as well?
It might be a case of she’s removed from the mission, very much like Elusive Targets. After all, Freelancer is more or less themed after H3 so her removal makes sense if that’s the case.
