It’s also gonna be bad if the coup succeeds since Prigozhin seems like a more capable tactician than Putin’s generals so if he will want to continue the war, it’s gonna be bad for Ukraine.
Well, that’s assuming he’d want to continue the war. He’s a mercenary, and since he’s turned against the guy who told him to send his people to war in the first place, it might not be his priority anymore. Plus, the whole war was about Putin’s ego. If this guy is more together, the whole reason for the invasion is gone. Besides, if it succeeds, he’s probably gonna have more local issues to deal with. Guess we’re gonna see one way or another.

What he wants makes no sense. He wants to take over the military but staying loyal to Putin. That is a contradiction.
He wants to return to the Ukraine to fight after his dealings in Russia despite saying that war is a mistake.

Wagner composed a very large portion of Russia’s invasion force, so it’s not as simple as just ‘continue the war’ after this ends somehow.

What’s the real reason the Chef is revolting against Putin? Sure, it sucks (for him) that his boys got taken down by friendly fire, but that isn’t really treason-provoking. Did Putin really harshly reject reparations for them and he’s going General Hummel over it?
I guess he either has political ambitions or he sees no perspective to win or at least to profit in/from the war.

We have the first claims/report of Wagner units in Moscow Oblast, other at 100k from the city. It’s not fully confirmed, but it’s clear that the claims are made by some of the Kremlin loyalist.
The next two days are going to be interesting.

He’s been in Soviet prison before, has had anti-government sentiments and has had issues with authority, and he has been upset at what he perceived as incompetent decisions made during the war by military command. So the guy has had some mental issues and anger bubbling beneath the surface for a while. The missile hit was just the last straw. He wasn’t even after Putin originally, he just wanted to overthrow the military command because he felt they were idiots causing more damage than making sound decisions, but once Putin labeled him a traitor for it, he put Putin on his list too and decided to go for broke.

I read also that he was upset at attempts to place Wagner under full military command.
Wagner agreed to stop the march and retreats to bases. No civil war. Seems like talks are about to happen. Wtf.
