An even more obscure fact is that Suzume (the one with the flute) has her headband red instead of green; this was most likely to reflect the 2015 animated series where they wore one:

No.
We just learned that the non-active/greyed out weapon parts interaction in the shed is not part of it. It was a bug resolved in a recent patch.
So instead of a potential, yet faulty, theory of what the Easter Egg could go toward, we are now with a certain, but unfortunate, amount of no idea whatsoever. Progress!

I did not found any mention of it, so here it is
I just installed a freecam mode and found, how shall I put it… A giant duck behind the cliff in freelancer.
Considering its position, it should swim out like in Himmelstein: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WunRjtpjxCI&t=350s when facing from the bridge where the boat start is.
Any insights on it?

There’s even a badge/award/achievement linked to this one if I recall correctly, so it’s not the most obscure one of the bunch.

No challenge for it directly. There is the Ave Maria challenge that demands to “find tranquility”/use the meditation blend for five minutes, but using this particular cosmetic is not required.
This easter egg was found pretty quickly though, in the first days of Freelancer.
I should know, I’m the one who posted it in the Safehouse thread.

Thinking again about the Freelancer Easter Egg starting in the range.
So reviving the topic a bit.
Has anyone found anything more about it, or is it DoA since 2023?
Because I’m still a bit intrigued by it.
I don’t even know if there is truly one, or it’s an orphaned first step with nothing else to find.

I don’t think any progress has been made since then. It might just be a dead end easter egg that never was…
(Because by now someone would have undoubtedly dug through the files and found some sort of hint as to what the steps are…)

Hi everyone! Just found an easter egg in Mendoza, regarding chef who goes to grab torches. I tried stealing them and well… I find the result quite funny)

He goes to the shrine and prays for the… torch. It appears then and he grabs it to light the pit.

But it’s in reference to Frote?? And it’s a recent additions because of it?
Wow, that’s a really neat little easter egg and very nice of some of the devs to celebrate probably their most popular speedrunner fan.

Unfortunately, IO didn’t consider Freelancer when placing the cake.
It spawns on top of where intel to crack a safe can appear, which makes in unable to be scanned. So the cake may make the next patch notes.
