I bought the deluxe edition just for the outfits

Seriously, I enjoyed the locations, but the gameplay in the first was terrible, and so it was in Blood Money. Im sorry, but other than Hitman 2 and Contracts, I did not enjoy playing these old games.

I have to admit that I enjoyed playing them at the time they came out, but trying to go back and play them now, they just don’t hold up graphics and play-ability speaking. Probably a pretty unpopular opinion, but I think that of most games, even going back to the days of Atari and C64.

I respect the opinion, was meant to be tongue in cheek so no actual offence meant :+1:

are you saying Blood Money’s Gameplay was bad?
Basically Every Things Fans want now, was in Blood Money

  • Elevators and Fiber Wire Elevator Kills
  • Dual Wielding for Silverballer
  • Human Shields
  • AI noticing blood pools and having blood trails for dragging bodies
  • Money Reward system after each mission
  • Weapon Customization
  • Plate Carrying for delivering poisoned food to your target directly

surely, it didn’t have modern stealth mechanics like using covers or being able to use anything in the level for knocking out people. but that’s because it was made in 2006
after Absolution, most fans were hoping to see modern Stealth with Blood Money features and ā€œWorld of Assassinationā€ Trilogy is the closest to that experience
but, I personally had hoped that we get those in HITMAN 3. but, it looks like they decided to focus on the level design and atmosphere. that also makes me very excited for the game.

Most of these points can be traced back to earlier games. Other than human shields that made BM extremely easy, most of them been there since C47.

Maybe you are the chosen One that can open their eyes to the truth.

My personal opinion is that hitman games, up until Absolution, had a unique stealth system that suited the series perfectly. The emphasize was made on learning NPC’s routs rather then moving behind cover. While in stealth mode 47 moved more like a ninja not a commando.

Should I take it as an insult?

ā€œMost people are blinded and can’t see the truth!ā€

I’d never insult anyone over a Videogame, we’re on HMF here, not Reddit. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

These things sound nice, but other than half of it wasnt first in Blood Money, Im mostly refering to the controls and gameplay that way. I know thats part of it being so old, but the trail and error part of the game doesnt shine in my eyes if half of it is determined by the luck if I try to perform a certain action, that made it frustrating alot.

yes, I know that. but Blood Money had them all
for example, weapon customization and having briefcase was in C47. but it wasn’t in Silent Assassin and Contracts
I’m not saying blood money is the best Hitman game ever made. but it’s gameplay was complete for its time

I personally loved Blood Money when it came out and it was my first hitman game.
but I tried to play it again after HITMAN 2 and I didn’t enjoy it that much. I was pissed that I can’t subdue people with my own hands and I was forced to kill them with Fiber Wire
I couldn’t wear disguises when I put bodies in the container
and some other things that are possible in HITMAN 2

I guess I can understand what you mean. because I can enjoy Contracts even now. but playing Blood Money in 2021 feels weird

Exactly, somehow Blood Money does hold up worse than 2 and Contracts. Thats why I still enjoy Absolution, because it ā€œfeelsā€ more modern and closer to the new trilogy than the older ones.

i wanted a cover system a while before absolution came along, even if it was just to peak around door frames without 47 looking like a numpty.

Some may pour scorn on me for this, but I like Absolution, and i do acknowledge the fact that it is the game which deviated most from the classic Hitman ā€˜recipe’ in some ways and as a result alienated many fans (not me)
But to me it is the transitional game of the series, bridging between the classic era and the new WOA era.

Same here. It was my first game, so I dont had the backstory of knowing 47 or Diana. It had a terrible story and some of the locations have been trash, but the gameplay was actually pretty good and solid, and modes like contract mode, and the new, modern controls made it a great prequel for what 2016 made so great.

Really? I mean, I haven’t pre-ordered before, I always wait for sale, so I’m happy they returned it to original price and I could buy it without overpaying. But I feel bad for people from countries where it didn’t return…
