HITMAN 3 announcements

If they do add one, I’m hoping they give it a tongue-in-cheek name. Something like “Now you can stop asking” or “We finally added one”.

I mean is it really? Most reactionaries I know (and I’m from a rural area I grew up around that) have a clean income and a wife and kids. Most lefties Im friends with have to live with their parents to get by because rent is so darn high now. Seems like a classist insult if anything.

Oh god I hope so. Three platinums please!

The problem with handing them to members of the Hitman fandom is that the audience for videos would be the same audience that is going to buy the game anyway. It would be preaching to the choir basically.

Not that IGN’s audience never ceases to prove this but isn’t that a broad sweeping generalisation of those people who do use major outlets? Assuming they are idiots who will never get it and there for aren’t worth it is terrible. If you spent time giving it to people who are both A) unfamiliar with the series, B) able to grasp what the game is trying to do and C) have a large or dedicated audience.

But then by saying that you’re making me bring the game press thing i was talking about.

No one lost the job because of giving 10/10 to messy games. A lot of journalists rate with 8 or 9 the annual Fifa release even if the games have absolutely horrible bugs like FIFA 20 last year. I’ve found more honesty in YouTube long-analysis of games than in game press journalists.

Maybe i’m missing your point again, if that’s the case, i’m sorry

There is still one Unannounced Project in job hiring section of IOI’s Website
It could be that sci-fi space game from the NoClip videos

Tbh I don’t expect this new game to be announced until a year or so. IOI announced two games after one that is two years old and one of them doesn’t even have a proper title.

It would be that space game they accidentally showed in their NoClip doco.

I remember the time Gamespot fired a guy for giving a game a six. I don’t even remember the game I just remember they fired a critic for being critical.

It’s all fine.

You missed my point again…
What I try to tell is, review copies should give to people who are working with it outside of the private area. An Influencer who is paying taxes, is registered as “corporation/firm” (doesn’t know the verb for a company running by one person at the moment) should get a review copy while an Influencer who doesn’t pay taxes, isn’t registered as “corporation/firm” shouldn’t get a review copy. That’s what I mean by “Game press / Company”. Sorry for the confusion.

B2T I can’t wait to receive the new upcoming informations… I hope we get news this week.

No no you misunderstand. I’m not saying that they won’t like Hitman, they might do. They just won’t engage with it the way we do. The IGN crowd wont replay games much I would guess as they like playing every new game that comes out. This isn’t an epithet, just what I’ve picked up. So appealing to a channel like Caddicarus who is followed by Dark Souls fans for example might prove more fruitful as Dark Souls is cut from the same cloth as Hitman. Constantly improving through repeatedly playing the same obstacle. It appeals to the same brand of autism we wear with pride (this is a compliment).

Another problem will be for players who buy the game close or after the servers shutdown: Not playing contracts is a thing, but it leads to issues with in-game challenges (like Hokkaido) or with items unlock (like Masamune or Hammer) that are tied with contracts challenge. They won’t be able to unlock them again?
Additional small issue is trophies (that’s not related to gameplay but it was the same with Hitman Absolution and PS3-related contracts trophies where you can read forum with people annoyed with that).

Meaning that they are not facing this potential issue for the first time. Currently, we get no sign of any improvement with this issue. When Hitman Absolution was released on PS4, every contracts trophies were removed, “clearing” this issue. Difficult to be optimistic.

we will be temporarily closing the Hitman Absolution Contracts Mode server before the end of May 2018

Well, servers were functioning six years before being shut down. But they were shut because IOI isn’t the owner of Contract Mode servers. Hitman 1 is published by Square Enix but servers are still available. Hitman 2 is published by Warner Bros. So, servers closures are potentially issues for that games (not now, but what about in 2030?).
Hitman 3 is self-published by IOI, meaning that we can be optimistic for H3. IOI have normally the ownership of servers and will find a good solution for long-term continuity of IOI games (playing and challenges)

And still one day they’ll turn off those servers as well, stuff like that happens all the time. And when theres no real offline mode, you’ll end up with a half-assed Game.

And i personally want to be able to replay this Game to the fullest in 20 years from now, just like i can with all Hitman of before.

why does contracts mode require being online at all? i think it should be theoretically possible to create your own contracts and play them without that, no?

The nuclear option after the final shutdown, if you don’t have an offline profile on your computer, would be to download the offline pirated version of the game with a 100% save game (all items, suits, starting locations, hidden stash…etc). It will be a real shame to get to that point and I hope IO is realizing this right now.

But still no rating system, no feeling of progress because all is already unlocked. The community could create an unofficial server to log on to it (like the ghost mode revival unofficial server project on PC), at least for the most critical parts. But it’s far from simple (mostly the rating system which must be a hell to emulate), and even almost impossible if they shut down the servers abruptly without any warning, because to emulate such thing, it’s wayyy easier with real network traffic.

And on console, not sure if this can work at all.

I really hope they have a fallback planned at some point.

To everyone talking about contracts: IO included the mission scripts of about 100 featured contracts from 2016 and H2 into the game’s files, they just chose not to properly implement them so far. So Featured Contracts are quite easily possible (Only thing they’d need to do different is include the target pictures of every single NPC in the game, currently those are stored online)
