Hitman 3 DLC in the Works

As much as I would love new DLC locations, I imagine nearly all of the Hitman development team is now working on the James Bond game. IO simply may not have the resources for new Hitnan maps, which is a shame.

Imagine if they added a couple of new maps a year until Hitman 9? Ah, a man can dream!

I think they can work on 2 additional maps in fast production like The Bank and Haven.

They can release first map of the DLC in 12 months when the game release on Steam and release the final map 6 months after.

I hope so. However, I don’t know enough about game development or IO’s size to know if it’s possible.

They could work on maps for 007 and anything they don’t end up using could be recycled into a Hitman map.

I know they said that won’t do this but I really really hope that IOI could add some additional maps like New York or haven because H3 maps feels a lot smaller in replayability compared to previous games (not talking about contracts) and having a new map or 2 would be the best thing of the entire Hitman trilogy. But I’ll keep my hopes low.

I’m not optimistic about new maps, especially because they said like a week ago there would not be any, but if the game is a bigger hit than they expected then things can always change, sure.

An interesting rework of Chongqing might have the rooftops as the restricted area where the targets are, and then have more going on in the apartments that’s easier to get into.

Chinese parade with the cliche dragon thing, daytime, one target on the roof overseeing the parade, one target in the restaurant holding a press conference or crime boss meeting or something. A bit of Godfather 2 vibes with the parade kill.

The one location i feel mostly needs a Bonus Mission is Dartmoor, the 1 target lets it down to me, yeah i know for story reasons it had to be only 1, so a good bonus mission with 2 targets would be great. It’s all well and good doing the Detective Mission Story but you only want to do that once :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

That’s it! Quick, everybody: cancel your pre-order of HITMAN III!

The game has already sold and I don’t see a huge shitstorm ala Cyberpunk on the Internet because of the lack of DLCs maps. So, there’s isn’t’ any pressure to make new maps. Most people would love them but are perfectly content with Bonus Episodes because that’s already more than expected.

Yes the game sold very well, but maybe that’s the reason why we’re getting new missions at all. Maybe the initial plan was to add a bunch of Escalations and a Holiday episode and be done with it.

I don’t think they could have predicted that they’d recoup their budget in the first week.

To be fair i’m wondering how much of that return of investment came from selling out to Epic exclusive deal.

I’m at the state of mind that either new locations or reimaginations will be equally nice, so I’ll win either way
That said, I don’t know if it became more likely that new locations would be added. It certainly has not been denied, so who knows.

To be fair, we don’t need new maps. The part where Lucas Grey talks about how all these actions influence the world, all the conversations at the winery party, like Hector Delgado messing up that area even more than before and various other aspects we could very well look at follow up missions ‘what were the consequences of our actions’ and cleaning up after ourselves.

Or a sgail mission where you target that adventurer that’s going to take over Ark society and think-tank Washington daddy sends in a squad to take you out, turning out to be a trap.

Throughout the entire series we’ve left a trail of interactions with the world, it’s time to see the results.

I don’t find it a necessity either. In fact, at this point I think that new maps have the potential to be smaller and have less opportunities since everything has to be made from scratch. Reusing maps with all the base resources already made would feel fresh enough while having a better potential for a much richer experience overall.

Very little/none of it did. The financial statement says the money from deals with specific platforms went towards opening Malmo and starting Project 007. The money was spent well ahead of H3’s launch.

Give me money and shut up.

Yeah that’s true, but I remember IOI have said we’re getting some already existing maps but with changes.

For example it could be Whittleton Creek but covered in snow. Or maybe Dartmoor in snow? Think it’s still going to be cool either way. Like you’ve quite rightly pointed out, with Hitman 3 been released to very positive reviews IOI might decide to give us new maps like they did in H2.

If we’re being cynical though, that could just mean a year of escalations and things like that. I do hope for a Patient Zero style thing though, and I think it’s possible.
