HITMAN 3: Seven Deadly Sins (NEW DLC)

All i need is a neon pink suit with a white shirt, pink tye. To match the pink granny gun.

If they rework Miami to be at night-time with a Flamingo Hotel roof party in one of these ‘Sins’ things to purchase - they will have secured my funds. But in the meantime…

Oh my god it’s time to work guys!!!

They have specifically talked about doing bonus missions in the existing trilogy maps. And this is clearly not that. Of course people would be disappointed.

It was probably a mistake to understand this:

“We’re more looking at using existing locations and reimagining them, twisting them. And this time around, we can use the whole trilogy. We can look back at Hitman 2016 maps, Hitman 2 maps - we have all the locations.”

as bonus missions like Landslide, Icon, AHBOS.

Exactly. People misinterpret what developers said (just like with “features from the old games”) and then get disappointed.

But it could be the case

To avoid this the wording have to be less ambiguous

To be fair, that’s an easy mistake to make, considering that all previous paid DLCs outside of the pre-order bonuses were either new missions on existing maps or completely new maps.

I was expecting something more I’m so disappointed there’s no way this time that IOI can be defended… let’s open all our eyes this is definitely a fast and easy cash grab without doing too much work for making money to use one project 007.

They don’t think anymore at Hitman like they used to do.

just a reminder that for instance in 2016:
4 Bonus Missions
3 Themed Escalations
3 New Weapons (rather 2 since the bat is a re-skin) + Suits

all of this for 20$

meanwhile people are excited and okay to pay 30$ for some themed escalations
yes sir let’s support this

So we just bought an 80 $ game with additional content but we will still have to pay to have more content ?
If I understood correctly this pack will include more elusive targets to which we will not have access even though we have paid $ 80?

I love IOI and have been a fan since the first one but my wallet says no.

Must admit as much as I love the Hitman end game of Fashioning Agent 47 with all the unlockable suits (Baring Winter Sports suit, pretty much use them all). Think they might be going bit overboard between the Deluxe, Standard unlocks and now this…

Like how many more suits can they make for the game? Especially without adding 2001 Agent 47 (low poly count and all.)

Also the new blog jumping between contract and escalation naming was little on the confusing side. Perhaps if they more clear in what each packed contained if all escalations or can be different each time.

I believe new ET’s will still be free. Wouldn’t hurt if IO did the same sort Long road map, marking what is free and what isn’t

You’ve misunderstood this part, for info. The ETs will be available to all players, not exclusively to people who purchase the Sins DLC.

Having some more time to process yesterday’s announcement, I have some thoughts on the way that IOI are choosing to sell this content, irrespective of its pricing (which I personally think seems way too high from what we know at this stage, but is its own separate issue). But just focusing on the buying options we have available for this new content, I think it’s a mis-judged move from IOI to sell this DLC both piecemeal as purchaseable individual Sin Seasons, and also as a whole package.

Surely one of the big takeaways from over 5 years of the WoA is that both industry voices (journalists, commentators etc) and players alike did not respond well to the multitude of options to purchase different parts of HITMAN, which were confusing both in terms of the sheer number of options and the less-than-crystal-clear comms describing them. IOI themselves clearly recognised that people weren’t a fan of the huge array of purchasing options leading up to the release of HITMAN 3, as they bent over backwards to explain how they were trying to reduce potential buyer confusion around the Standard and Deluxe Editions of H3 - their Pre-Order blog even went as far as saying, “Again, nice and simple.” They know that that’s something that people value.

So after seemingly course-correcting with H3 and trying to simplify the options available to players, they’ve now fallen down the rabbit hole again and are offering 8 new potential purchase options (7x individual Sin packs, plus the collected All Of It option) to add to the >100 SKUs (which they already admitted was a huge challenge to manage prior to this) that they’ve already clocked up in making the WoA to date, which will surely only add to the perception amongst the gaming public that IOI make great games, but they sure do make it more complicated than it needs to be for people to buy the damn things.

Hopefully the content itself will be great, but I think that the way they’re selling it is another unnecessary own goal for a studio that has a habit of scoring unnecessary own goals.

What other way would you understand it? Because I don’t think a single piece of content of this paid DLC will have anything on the legacy maps as that would make it even more ridiculous by forcing Hitman 3 purchasers that bought a 30$ DLC pack in March to fork over even more money for a legacy pack to be able to access the content in the mentioned 30$ dlc pack. It would be completely insane.

I am glad to have the option to buy them individually, and at a price thats roughly similar to what you’d pay for the bundle. but I’m not sure we’d need the option had they just told us what the whole bundle would contain in advance, because as it is now there’s really no reason to buy the bundle with the risk it brings
