i agree that the price for 7DS is steep, but this isnt really a fair comparison. at the time, IOI was still spending Squenix money and the only games they were developing were 2016 + Season 2 (H2)
now theyre working on H3 + project 007 + their new IP (that may or may not flop). all without a publisher, only deals with external companies
Yea I was underwhelmed to learn they are escalations. I would happily cough up coin for some levels, but Iām really considering skipping this add on which is something I never thought Iād think.
As a lot of you said, itās too soon to talk about the price with a definite position. But considering what people said in here, I think @IOI mustāve done a more detailed announcement than this. Look what happened here, 400 posts in 14 hours and a majority of them are about the price, not speculations about the content itself. As @Danger_dog_guy_7 said, not angry, just disappointed.
Iād only assume IOās next meeting be like this Wanted to post this on the memes thread, but for now this a better place for it.
the first sin- Greed- is focused on an escalation. they used the vague term ācontractsā for what the rest could be, so maybe theyre not all escalations
Bought the deluxe edition. Was happy with it, even if it felt a little overpriced.
Wonāt be buying this. Ā£30 is too much in my mind, feel like it should be Ā£15 at most.
Not much else to say. Hope the money this makes will help make the bonus mission DLC as good as it can be.
I might be missing something here but where is it stated that the dlc will be escalations? For all we know this might be something else different.
I really hope that we do get actual bonus missions in the pack. The wording here makes it seem like every part will have a different type of content, and the first one starts with an escalation.
This feels like this is the DLC since its going to remix the locations like what was previously revealed. Unless this sells extremely well and IO decide to sell more escalations in future DLCs of course.
To be fair, it doesnāt really help that IO essentially summarized the blog post at the end as pack 1 being āa escalation, a suit, a coin and a caneā. Doesnāt exactly make it sound like its worth it.
I think expecting 7 escalations is the way to go, to avoid disappointment. If some of them are bonus missions though, that would obviously be awesome. Either way if the images so far are anything to go by it seems like the escalation changes the level a good bit, and is not just a normal one.
For now, Iām keeping my expectations in check, only going to be thinking of potential escalations from this slate of content.
Regardless, we donāt really know why theyāre doing what theyāre doing. Also, it probably is unfair to compare this slate of content to previous DLC Missions/Locations. As cake said, in the past they had the backing and funding of Square Enix and Warner Bros. on their side, which must have helped them put in a good deal of work past the base game portion of content.
Maybe the extra revenue couldnāt cover a full-scale bonus mission. Maybe this is indeed to fund future projects. Maybe this is to fund the rest of the Season of Sin. Whoever planned the financials of selling this type of content though seems to have bitten off more than they can chew. Thatās one pricey meatball.
Still hurts to see that theyāre not even letting a second pass between the end of Deluxe Content and this. It might have softened the blow had they waited a few months and released the first 3 or 4 at once. The mystery of it isnāt worth that, IMO.
Iāve seen plenty of people ask for new locations etc, so technically that would be a continuation of the story no?
I commented in my post that they could do some special assignment type DLC also.
My main point was IO had already confirmed in a number of articles that there was nothing āmajorā in the pipeline in regards to DLC yet plenty of people still seem massively disappointed that this is all weāve got.
