Challenge packs were for the most part something meh. It was cool when they had tuff like the Jaeger 7 Covert, the ICA Titanium Crowbar or the Red Tie Kiwi but for the most part, many unlocks were quite underwhelming, specially the ones in H2016.
? Itās not hard to see how at all lol, just look at the bonus missions or patient zero. Literally nobody here is asking for a continuation of the mian story lol
im so worried about this news, hitman 2 i buyed gold edition day 1 and we was buying all the game plus expansions new maps and such now we buy deluxe day one and what we get? a game that after 2 months finished all of the content? and they ask us for another 30 bucks for 7 escalations? Are you serious this time IOI?
Iāve always buyed everything hitman related day one but this time seems a really shady move worst than even publishers greedy like ubisoft or ea.
I surely will wait this time and i want to see how much content is this 7 sins thing but even with a discounted price in future i still think that they just want too much money from us with hitman 3.
And what about if they then will do another set of dlcs or bonus maps? Another extra 30 bucks? cmon.
Just mocked up a rough timeline for the seasons
Edit: also my guess is the seasons will follow the colour scheme of the seven sins
- Greed: yellow
- Pride: purple
- Sloth: light blue
- Lust: dark blue
- Gluttony: orange
- Wrath: red
- Envy: green
Also just noticed a typo on the end, Iāll fix it tomorrow
I give HITMAN 3ās content cycle two years. This is only year one.
I just canāt get behind this after buying the deluxe and feeling like Hitman 3 was just more of the same and all about wrapping up a story. I want to and itās not the money as much as it offers nothing ānewā and unique. Itās a bit uninteresting actually.
Bought All WOA 3 Games plus All content gold deluxe etc. Now have to pay more. Nah!
As much as Iām happy to see Hitman getting more content, the value proposition is just terrible here. I wasnāt expecting bonus missions so soon after release and on a personal note, I donāt need them yet since Iām still playing this game episodically and havenāt even gotten to Berlin yet.
But ā¬30 for 7 escalations and some reskins is kinda ridiculous. Maybe thereās more to it but I donāt know why they wouldnāt tell us if thereās more if theyāre trying to sell it to us. Theyāve given us tons of free escalations over the years and even free themed content like the Halloween escalation and Holiday Hoarders so putting that price on 7 escalations seems incredibly lopsided. And I love escalations.
The Deluxe Edition was already over priced for what we got. We got exactly what they said it would be so Iām not saying IO conned us but it really wasnāt worth the asking price on top of the main game not having the six level 20 mastery maps they told us about before launch. Adding some value to the DE would have been nice.
Iām willing to pay for more content but this aināt it.
Waiting for details. After being screwed over with the deluxe upgrade pricing, Iām not surprised that this appears scummy.
Hitman is a beautiful cake that IO insists on covering with scummy icing.
Iāll be waiting to purchase it once Iāve seen some gameplay after itās released and some player reviews.
Normally Iād just throw my money at IO, but I feel like Iāve been burned just one too many times now.
I kinda think having all your games under one DRM system is a bad idea honestly, because if something happens to that store (like Direct2Drive years ago) then who knows what can happen. Valve is solid as a rock today, but one Gabe Newell car accident and who knows what happens.
Possibility:
The team barely started making the DLC and most of it is still speculative plans that could change a lot before itās finally released so itās better not to make promises that could end up not being delivered.
Persuasion-wise itās better to set expectations low and positively surprise later than to set expectations too high and negatively surprise (plenty of time for people to be convinced by the DLC and purchase later, even individually, if content proves to be better than just escalations in the future)
If they announced a bonus mission (for e.g Greed) fans could be expecting 7 bonus missions and feel cheated when an escalation (for e.g Sloth) is announced.
Starting with a simple escalation also makes sense as March 30 is already pretty busy with deluxe and free contents.
Sure, the advertisement was bad and itās nowhere clear whether itās 7 escalations or 7 varied missions of all sorts. Just saying that such constraints could explain the poor communication.
Iāll be honest seeing the thumbnail of the trailer the first time got me thinking thisāll be like a epic bonus mission pack for H3, which in turn reminded me there has been no proper bonus mission for Mumbai yet (not counting the half assed āspecial assignmentā that is)
Well, another topic on here was showing how a known female voice actress got āin the boothā and was posting about āresortā. Luau at Haven?
Imagine if it was a katana reskin
This is exactly the reason why I (almost definitely) wonĀ“t buy it until H3 comes out on Steam. Already caved in to the Epic extortion, even got the Deluxe edition, and thereĀ“s no way IĀ“m gonna pay twice for what appears to be a 7-escalation DLCā¦
I will join you!
I donāt think comparing to EA or any other AAA publisher makes IO not greedy.
Hereās an idea of IOI: How about telling us what weāre paying for before we actually pay for it.
Is it going to be like the deluxe escalations?
Is it going to be more than that?
Is it going to be like the special assignment from hitman 2?
Is it going to be like patient zero campaign?
Please be transparent and tell us what weāre paying 30$ for before we pay.
Itās not enough that the deluxe pack was overpriced.
Itās not enough that the 6th map was, in my opinion, a joke that I will probably never visit again (even worst than special assignment that I only played for one day)
Now 2 months after the release, which was successful and recouped all development cost, youāre expecting us to pay 30$ for something we know nothing about. So far Dubai is a 3 stage escalation so we can only assume that the rest will follow the same format, in which case 30$ is just too much for it, and I might wait until the price drops. If itās more than 7 three stage escalations, then please inform us because in that case I might consider buying it.
Even the patient zero campaign which offered new targets, and new remixing of maps, cost less than this.
I just donāt understand IOI. In my opinion, Hitman 2016 was the peak of the trilogy in terms of everything, and it got worse and worse and now we reached the point where they charge 30$ for cosmetics.
At least IO is actually giving content, like stuff to do. Itās easy to do a shortcut and do what EA has done recently.
It seems reasonable to be disappointed with this DLC when you compare it to what we had in season 1 and 2, but this is still playable. And it is a lot. Just in a different way. Thatās my 2 cents anyhow
If the DLC is really just seven escalations and reskins, why on earth is the price set 50% higher than what Patient Zero was for H1 when it launched?
This just reeks of a cashgrab and its going to be the first content for the WoA trilogy that Iām going to be waiting to get on special I think.
I really donāt get why the pricing isnāt adjusted by region.
Other than that, I feel like I wonāt be buying the greed one just because one of the 2 paid unlocks is a cane instead of anything else. Still hopeful for the rest though, and curious what ET rewards there will be for the new ones.
Are these guys aware that they make a lot of people mad by making them pay 55$ for skins when we would galdly pay 1000$ only for the dual silverballers we have been asking since Paris launch in 2016 lol. Oh and also they were in every hitman except this one, even absolution XD
