“Please note that Steam keys cannot be sold on other sites unless the product is also available for purchase on Steam at no higher a price than is offered on any other service or website.”
What’s going on here, then? Back in February 2019, Epic’s Tim Sweeney tweeted to suggest private agreements between Steam and developers is not usually known." Then, later from Sweeney on Twitter
Of course Sweeney would also take shots on the matter only to make an ass of himself.
The lawsuit is worth a read, it’s wildly hilarious on just about everything. From randomly accusing Valve of favoring games made by friends and relatives in the algorithm(with zero evidence or even one single example cited), claiming that Uplay was able to undercut the Epic store by a few bucks on sale because they were no longer on Steam (despite the fact anybody could see in 5 minutes on Google that Ubisoft literally did this all the time while on Steam too), or trying to claim that the steam store and the steam platform are different things and that they should be allowed to sell steam keys for a game without releasing the game on the steam store, or using random forum posts or Tim Sweeney Twitter posts as evidence.
i don’t know what i’m looking at here. how is a json file supposed to prove that it’s THAT easy?
there could be other reasons why IOI does not allow people to sync hitman 3 across all platforms (switch, epic, PSN, etc). maybe some of these companies like sony or steam will not let them, or maybe they are worried that it will corrupt the user’s data. we just don’t know
Yes. It is a bit disappointing that this “free upgrade” promotion seems to give something to everyone who bought or will buy the game on Steam, except those who ended up paying the most.
Like you, I bought the Deluxe Edition, and the whole Seven Deadly Sins package on the launch day of the Steam version, and the promotion doesn’t apply to us, while applying to everyone else (on Steam).
I can’t even ask for a refund for the Seven Deadly Sins DLCs, because I bought the whole thing on the same transaction (Deluxe Edition + DLCs), and I’m only getting the option of refunding the whole transaction, which would be sure to cause problems with my account unlocks (plus I have more than 2h played, so Steam denies refund attempts).
Sorry for tagging you, @Travis_IOI / @Clemens_IOI, but since it’s a bit hard to reach IO (I’ve been trying for more than a week to make you aware that there is a problem with owners of the Deluxe Edition on Steam, where most or all of us are missing the soundtrack and book on our IOI accounts), and since you do check here occasionally, may I ask that you please take into consideration those who bought everything (Deluxe Edition + Seven Deadly Sins DLCs) on Steam just before this promotion was announced, and try to considering an alternative for us (for example, since there’s surely paid DLC coming later this year, ownership of that DLC, or a discount on its purchase, would be an awesome gesture)?
Because as it stands, those who bought the “regular” edition, or just the Deluxe Edition, get a 30€ freebie, and people who bought the whole thing get… nothing.
There were hundreds of thousands of accounts that were able to use an “open door” between Steam and the Free Starter Pack to unlock Trading Cards, badges, wallpapers without paying anything.
Maybe they made a mistake and were afraid to do the same thing again + one week later the drop is still in review.
Very unlikely as it’s a extremely easy fix, and they already used said fix in Hitman 2 as well. It’s a simple toggle ( https://steamdb.info/sub/272196/info/ )
Currently literally everyone except those that paid the most get benefits. So give benefits to those people that paid the most and that’s everyone. That’s the end.
With the insane amount of variability that comes with having all these different editions of all three games, it wouldn’t be long before everyone was making a case for why they specifically deserved something free as well.
Again, literally everyone who bought Hitman 3 on Steam (the whole reason for the freebies) are covered except the ones who had already bought everything. They’re the only ones left out.
IOI should upgrade everyone to Deluxe + 7DS for free, effectively making those part of the standard HITMAN III package. Then give people who previously paid for Deluxe + 7DS a new bundle of skins and escalations—the Loyal Supporter’s Pack. People who received Deluxe + 7DS for free then have the option of buying the Loyal Supporter’s Pack for whatever arbitrary number IOI decides.
I’m confused, the Steam Demo once had a a queue of 62 000, but SteamCharts says its never had more than 98 players at the same time. Surely the act of just being in the demo launcher counts right? Cos It sure as hell counted being in the queue as ‘playtime’ for me
They should give everyone who buys Standard the Deluxe Pack and 7DS. For the people who bought everything, they should give them a Supreme Pack. However, since the people who bought Standard can’t get the Supreme Pack, they’d be rightfully upset. In that case IO should provide them the Supreme Pack for free. But what about the people who got the Supreme Pack because they purchased the Deluxe Edition and 7DS? Those people will surely be disappointed in the unfair treatment they’re receiving from IO. To satisfy these needs, IO will have to offer an Ultimate Pack for free. But what about people that bought the game on Epic, and didn’t receive any of this? They’d have to get the Transcendent Pack for free. But what about Playstation users, who didn’t receive any of this? They should receive the Superlative Pack. What about Xbox use-
