will do i check it out

I guess I can buy that explanation given the kinds of items we’ve gotten from arcade so far. Weird, playful items to fit the playful nature of Arcade – ETs with a slight twist.
Still doesn’t totally solve the issue of some of the suits included with it so far. They’re pretty out there in terms of 47’s style.

Although… I remember seeing there were a few serious things in the files to look forward to, that I can’t talk about for obvious reasons.

I don´t think they´re made for any particular level (unless the neon ninja suit gives like a 100% camo index in Chongqing, but this isn´t MGS3). They´re just thrown in to complement the garbage-themed weapons…

I meant fitting more in terms of the game´s nature and style. We´re playing a professional assassin dealing with scum of the Earth in a stealth/puzzle game, not a bloody comedian in a battle royale. And if we´re talking in terms of complementing the weaponry, well then the regular ninja suit complements the katana, Masamune, shurikens, tanto, tonfa, and being an all-black infiltration suit, it fits perfectly with every nighttime level in the trilogy. But hey, here´s a light bulb disguise instead!

 MY - THOUGHTS - EXACTLY. I mean did the Epic deal include a provision to tacitly promote Fortnite or what? (“Oh sure, we´ll give you the money for your game. Just make sure to dress your protagonist up in the cringiest way possible with equally atrocious gun paint jobs to boot!”)

Yet with the likes of the Santa, mascot or pirate suits, while they are ridiculous, they at least still fit with the locations/themes one way or another and actually work for comedic purposes, while at the same time not feeling like they got lost there from a completely different game. These new(er) abominations on the other hand - that´s just embarassing, like you say.

This may surprise you but the idea of Hitman to begin with is pants on head embrassingly stupid

Or, you know, to look good? What garbage themed weapons? All of the currently released reskins for the weapons in H3 look genuinely quite good (the sniper one especially, which I think looks better than the Ghost).

The. Clown. Suit. You can’t use that card when the game has plenty of stupid suit disguises already. This isn’t a new trend, the games have always had this kind of dark humor and Bathos.

Completely disagree. The more variety the better. And the santa suit only fits into the Hoiliday Hoarders map; it looks stupid everywhere else. The neon ninja and iridescent katana still look good, and I like how more experimental they’re becoming with their designs.

Which was the first and the best joke outfit in the franchise. It was so impactful IOI have been trying to (unsuccessfully) make something at least as memorable for more than a decade now.

It is a great nostalgic callback to one of the franchise’s greatest entries where it was used for a purpose, not (just) for laughs.

It is ridiculous and amusing as the cheap-looking clown persona is the opposite of 47’s character, and yet it still retains one of his professional attributes - gloves (got ya, @Heisenberg).

It works greatly not the least to due to the fact that clowns are commonly associated with violence in pop culture.

It is a great identity to embrace for players who are literally clowning around in the game.

It has been widespreadly used by players or content creators on YouTube, Twitch etc and has become one of the franchise’s most recognisable images for all the reasons stated above.

So yes, the Clown suit. It is no match for a shiny ninja suit whose only value is… being shiny and being a ninja suit (and a bad one at that).

I don’t know, as a joke, the neon ninja suit is pretty funny… Especially in a game that is well known for having lighting issues. I can’t help but think that IOI did that very intentionally. The joke may have fallen flat for a lot of players, but it’s still a joke (and not a bad one, I think).

I don’t think people want actual buggy items though. If it’s supposed to be a joke, I don’t get it. I’d rather have the lighting overall fixed instead of having an annoyingly bright suit, just for the sake of having it annoyingly bright.

Consider that the among the biggest complaints that IOI probably hears are useless reskins, outfits that don’t fit into locations and lighting issues. The humor in a lit up ninja suit (completely impractical and doesn’t fit in anywhere) that is so outrageously bright that it leans heavily into the lighting problems is obvious!

Yeah, but those are complaints! It would feel extremely tone-deaf as a joke to double-down on that
