Yes.
Maybe not the worst game, but that’s the worst physical edition I’ve seen. LRG went super low effort with it.
Bloody Tomba got more love than Hitman
I completed on Android Phone (touch screen).
Honestly, I have mixed feelings for the game.
Good part is the game was portable in an android device without any issue on graphics, lags or bugs.
Not Good part is the controls were not that good as sometimes I try to walk past a bar area and 47 vaults over and spoils the SA rating - maybe I am not used to touch screen play. Also I see NPC staring at 47 like a 360 owl as if 47 is an alien or something.
Here are some screenshots taken:
I still miss the W2000 Sniper Rifle - the packing/unpacking animation.
And my favourite mission:
Overall it is ok, I see Feral Interactive is remaking/porting other PC games to Mobile device.
I know that 99.9% of the time I’ll play this game on PC but I still bought it physically for Switch just because it’s that important a game to me.
I played the switch version on an emulator on my pc (Ryujinx) cuz i wanted to see all the differences. It’s alright but i prefer the OG PC version. I like some of the new features tho like the minimap cuz it lets u be aware of your surroundings without having to open up the map. I also like the instinct cuz it highlights usable objects. This is a really trivial thing, i know, but one thing I always wished they would update if they ever remastered Blood Money is the ragdoll physics. I think Blood Money has by far the worst ragdoll physics out of the whole series. Contracts, on the other hand, had the best imo.
I got this today since I had been thinking about getting it, and noticed it was some % off.
Even though I have the remaster(?) on PS3, I have no idea when I’ll ever fire up my PS3 again.
Maybe I can play each mission/contract multiple times before I go to the next one instead of burning through each one and not exploring alternate… methods of getting the jobs done. Or maybe I did… It’s been sooo long since I played.
I can say with certainty that I played ‘Curtains Down’ and ‘A Murder of Crows’ multiple times, but ‘Dance with the Devil’ up to when Eve cutscene cartwheel killed me… It had me confused as to what was happening, then I was like “WTF?! Well, screw this!” and got real discouraged from playing the game and then I moved onto Absolution.
While playing this, I can say I have a better appreciation for it. It does seem a bit clunky when picking up some items. You need to have them highlighted, and getting that highlight can be finicky. You sometimes have to move a body just a bit. I am using the ‘New Controls’…
I know I couldn’t be saying anything new here. I can’t remember how I played some 10+ years ago on the PS3. I definitely know more now… Or maybe it’s just (fake) confidence after being spoiled by the current Hitman games. I just recently got a ‘Professional’ ranking on House of Cards. I do kinda dislike it with how I’m getting the (American?) guy by making sure he sees me holding a gun while standing in the doorway to the (I presume) women’s restroom. I’ve watched speedruns and know that they throw something in the bathroom for him to go after (your silverballer, I assume). But I couldn’t seem to get him to hear me throw it… Maybe I need him to just see it somehow.
Buying hints on what to do seems like a cool idea. One hint mentioned the fire alarms.
Dance with a Devil is next (I believe). I’ll have my revenge this time!
I’m fairly sure NPCs won’t hear any throws aside from coins. That’s the point of coins in this game and all items making noises is something that was introduced in Absolution as it didn’t have designated throw distraction items.
Anyway, you’re right, you just let him see it! NPCs in BM turn their heads toward you as they pass – just stand next to the open doorway so he looks in your direction and notices the Silverballer… And then
I picked this up on Switch with the last of my Gold Points. I’m still going through it, taking breaks at the missions that annoy me. The features that are just copying WoA are funny to see retrofitted.
Instinct helps if you’re unfamiliar with the levels interactables, but you can’t see a targets silhouette through walls so it’s a little pointless in my opinion.
The Mini Map is cool, but some of the icons added to it are too big and cover part of the map too much.
I don’t think there is a method to shoulder swap with the modern control scheme, but there should be seeing as you can only first person with classic controls.
I also got hung up on how to stop dragging a body of all things. The modern controls are close enough to WoA to cause muscle memory confusion in parts.
Otherwise, seems solid enough so far. They should bring it to other platforms, but I get why it’s only on the platforms it is.
Also, they should bring back throwing weapons.
After replaying Amendment XXV multiple times until I finally got Silent Assassin I moved onto…
Requiem
Having learned that I could wait for the Priest to get next to 47 in order to take him as a human shield… Which I can’t seem to get to work most of the time. I know what to press, it’s just praying to RNJesus for the prompt to pop-up, only to find out I’m forsaken!
Anyway, I had to restart maybe up to 10 times (give or take a couple). I only tried waiting for the priest 2 or 3 times before realizing that was too long to wait, especially if I’m going to keep getting killed and have to start over again anyway.
Eventually, I got it. Imagine having 1 guard left to shoot and then dying. Yeah. That happened once.
Now…
The ending. There’s crazy ideas about what 47 was doing, or why he was there. Was he there for a ‘Hit’?
Well, listening to the music, and the curtains closing… I have a strong inclination it was to fulfill a human desire. …and I’ll just leave it at that.
I suppose I’ll try some level again on a higher difficulty, and hopefully get a feel for what you can do and how to (if possible) better manipulate the targets or even some of the other NPCs.
I can imagine killing the (female) crow member, but leaving a weapon in one of the alleyways to the open areas to stop any cops so I can better hide her body. Things like that.
