Hitman wishlist

This but with golf too. give me madagascar ps2 style minigolf in hitman!

  1. Challenges for amassing 10 million, 50 million 100 million, 500 million and a billion merces in Freelancer where the items could be used in the regular missions.
    10 million: a second Seiker
    50 million: a green egg
    100 million: proximity concussion duck
    500 million: a third Seiker
    1 billion: a red egg
I’ve suggested things like this on the forum before, and many people say that’s OP, but I contend that if you can tough it out to get a billion merces, you kinda deserve some OP. Of course, I would hope that the amassing would be a cumulative thing

  2. More prestige leveling challenges. I did it to level 10, but what about some XP incentive for every 5 after that … and perhaps at level 25, 50, 75, and 100 (and possibly beyond), some rewards that (again) are a bit OP …
Prestige 25: a BACKPACK that’s basically a briefcase, but can be worn while on a ledge or even where you can carry another briefcase with it.
Prestige 50: sniffing salts that could be used to awaken pacified targets/NPCs. This way you could pacify someone, take their disguise, then awaken them and kill them while wearing their disguise.
Prestige 75: wall piercing sniper rifle?!?!?!
    Prestige 100: the electrocution phone?!?!?!

  3. Preloaded briefcases/toolboxes for specific disguises. For example, a toolbox preloaded with a crowbar, hammer, screwdriver, and wrench for any handyman, gardener, technician, etc. Or a medical bag preloaded with a vial and syringe of each sedative, emetic, and lethal poisons for a doctor or surgeon disguise. And a case for a cook with a kitchen knife, meat fork, cleaver, and meaty bone.

  4. In Freelancer, crates or suppliers could have disguises.

  5. In Freelancer, the suppliers could sell stuff even if you have it at the safehouse already. It’s frustrating to have a supplier with nothing to offer.

One question: why do you hate us?

i don’t hate anybody … just want some challenges to keep my interest in the game alive … i’ve done every challenge there is in the game …

Those Merces ideas are “challenges” in the same way Pinhead from Hellraiser brings “pleasures.”

I think for me the issue with these kinds of challenge idea is that they are more grinding than actually challenging. If you can prestige once, you can prestige a hundred times - the only difference is time. Same thing for getting a vast amount of merces. That’s nothing against any particular person’s idea - just the nature of grinding as a challenge. For me it’s not so much a challenge as it is just tedious to keep doing the same thing over and over and over some arbitrary number of times for a reward. I wasn’t a fan when IOI did it either.

i agree with you there … it’s more of a grind than a challenge … but for those kinds of rewards, it should be tedious as hell and take a lot of dedication to playing a shit ton … i certainly don’t need a throwable shoe

I would go for some “big” challenges like:

  • kill every campaign target with the CX Demo block
  • complete every campaign map without any starting loadouts
  • play through the entire campaign from the default starting location without ever changing outfits (except for game-forced changes)
  • complete all campaign maps without performing any illegal actions

that sort of thing. Not that any of those are exceptionally difficult for well-seasoned players, but they would reward going back and replaying the entire campaign (or even specific levels) using kill methods that some players may not necessarily gravitate to or forcing different playstyles.

A few thoughts.

First on having a long play incentive to Freelancer. And adding to it.
They already exist. It’s the Prestige Level V, Top Dogs, Employee of the Year and GOAT.
From the surge of posts about them a few months back, it takes approximately two years for a reasonably dedicated player to do. Which is fair and fine to have.

You can still create your own objectives. Some go up the Prestige Ladder. I went to 10 millions merces (it took me half a year)…

Second. Even if we look at your proposal, you numbers are nonsensical. 1.000.000.000 Merces?

  • For reference, optimized with all safes, couriers, all payouts perfect runs, that is 3000-4000 campaigns.
  • In a row. any failed campaign would send you back, up to thousands campaigns back.
  • For further reference: maxing out the Player Profile Level to 12501 takes less than 500 campaigns.

I will be blunt, and in a way I am sincerely sorry. But I cannot take your proposal seriously with this.
I actually wouldn’t mind something like a 1.000.000 Merecs one (I proposed it to unlock the coin back when).

Compounding the two.

I’m of the opinion that if new “long play” challenges are added to Freelancer, they should be feasible in parallel to the old ones by new players. That is feasible under 100 full campaigns.

To us, it would be an addition. to them it’s fair and inclusive.

Also I know I’m amusingly a broken record on the forum for it.
But if we have new reasons to play Freelancer besides its current self, I would much prefer gameplay variety and not “do the same but more for arbitrary goals”.

Again: Lessons Learned. main mission targets campaign, best of both worlds, please.

i totally get all that … i’m playing the hell out of freelancer because it’s just fun … i would like for there to be a few more rewards to earn along the way, and i’m not married to amassing merces to get there … it was just a mechanism for it … honestly, i’d love to have another seiker variant … maybe a challenge in santa fortuna or NY where you have to kill 5 targets with a lethal poison and finish SA

I wish they’d add the electrocution phone back but make it like any other electrocution item where the target has to be on water or oil spill. They should also add the water canister to the campaign.

Other electrocution items also kill NPCs when they’re activated while in the NPC’s inventory. The proximity taser will kill the guard picking it up, for example, and you can activate the remote taser while the guard is carrying it for a kill. Putting the micro remote taser in Cassidy’s mailbox is good for an easy target kill, since that gets it into his inventory.

The phone is unique not in that it differs in behavior in this respect, but in that any NPC will pick it up and keep it in their inventory.

I wish they’d add more stuff to the safehouse like a way to craft extra ammo, darts, guns, and suppressors. There’s tons of stuff on the table in the safehouse bunker that could be used for that. At the very least loud pistol you can build with the parts you see on the table that 47 plays with and you can craft a suppressor for it with a spray can found in the safehouse.

Many have suggested IOI add revolvers to the game and the usual response is it isn’t feasible to animate them. So here’s my suggestion to IOI. Make the revolver with the following in mind:

-Hammerless (aka DAO). This means they would not have to animate a hammer moving forward and backward that doesn’t have a reciprocating slide. The hammer is shrouded instead.

-Unfluted Cylinder. These have no grooves on the cylinder, so since they look rather smooth and cylindrical, they would not have to animate a revolving action.

-Use the dart gun reload mechanics. This makes them slower than the other pistols but not comically (and unrealistically) slow either. The dart gun reload is believable enough in duration to imagine 47 is using a full moon clip reload.

-Give it the accuracy, range, power, and recoil of the striker pistols. This is believable enough and doesn’t make them entirely useless.

Or just reskin a regular pistol to look like a revolver and don’t have it behave like one. They already have the NPC heads not turning if you snap the neck of an unconscious one, so why not?
