Hitman World of Assassination - Signature Edition for Switch 2

At this rate, Project 007 might turn out to be IOI’s Skull and Bones. And if the next Hitman game is waiting on the release of Project 007 before being greenlit, Hitman might turn into IOI’s Duke Nukem Forever. :grimacing:

Remember, IO is also working on project fantasy, so it will probably be even longer than that.

I stand by it, they announced it as the ink was drying. They should have just went quiet and reveal the game when they had something to show.

As if he’d say if it wasn’t.

Was that back in 2020? It’s getting ridiculous that we’ve not seen anything so far.

Pre-orders for Switch 2 game software began today in Japan.
However, we could not find “HITMAN WoA SE” in the Japanese retailers’ lineup.
Are there any plans to release a packaged version of the game in Japan in the future?
And will we be able to get the bonus red/green clothes, mushrooms and green duck bombs?
Also, do you plan to sell the six bonus items, such as the red outfit and green outfit, as paid DLC after the release date?

Is this not it @Tom-Kannaduki?

EDIT: Ah, you’re talking about the physical edition, my apologies.

Will the Signature Edition also release on the Soulja Game Console? Would probably run smoother than on Switch 2 :eyes:

They mention retailer exclusion for the physical edition but don’t provide any information on who the retailers are unless I’m missing something?

I have to say it’s very out of character for IOI not to be completely on point when it comes to clarity of comms.

Yes, I wanted a “physical edition”.
Sorry, it may have been difficult to convey this to you, because in Japan, “physical edition” is expressed as “packaged version”.

The following is from an IOI email. I’m a little annoyed that there are these platform-exclusive suits and items. I want 47 with a mustache. I also have wanted a green proximity emetic duck for a long time and this Nintendo green duck will preclude that from happening.

Pre-order now to get two exclusive elegant suits, a beautiful gold-plated wrench and a tasty looking mushroom—although some believe they can make you grow, it would be ill advised to eat this one…

You will be certain to dazzle with this Signature Pack, but don’t worry. Your identity will be well hidden, with a handsome moustache as an added bonus.

Retail exclusive Quack Pack - You don’t need to own a mansion to carry off this stylish green suit, white tie and elegant white hat to match—moustache included. Bring your Dino Duck along and be sure to brighten up any location!

But handle with care—if activated, it’s sure to give an explosive performance that no one will forget.

I am so fucking tired of platform exclusivity. Between that, microtransactions, and live service gaming, I’m not sure which is the most annoying habit of the gaming industry right now.

Live services are the worst for me. It can work with games like Helldivers 2, but Hitman has no business being a live service.

I’d rather get every 4 years a new Hitman Game instead of the same shit recycled for 5 years - and looking at HITMAN 3, probably for another 5 years.

Wow I just realized that green “Dino Duck” is supposed to be a reference to Yoshi :o

Anyway it’s just a lazy recolor of the base explosive duck, so even if it’s an exclusive there’s nothing preventing IOI from making a green emetic duck with a slightly more inspired design (like the devil / detective ducks).

Probably only exclusive for a period of time. IO loves their $5 DLCs so much that I can’t imagine that they won’t sell it on all platforms at some point to squeeze every last cent they can out of their players to bridge the gap until their next title releases.

Will they really? The other platform exclusive suits are still exclusive.
