Hitman World of Assassination - Signature Edition for Switch 2

But on the other hand, we have the Stadia items. And they’ve historically also sold everything that was pre-order DLC for WoA (Requiem Pack for H1 and Trinity Pack for H3). The other platform suits were just a bonus they shoved into the game, so are an entirely different situation.

So seems to be way more likely to happen than not.

I’m happy to pre-order but I can only find that option for the digital edition.
Where can I pre-order the physical edition?

Amazon has it.

Also why is this just a game key card and doesn’t actually contain the game? It says the download is 61GB, even though apparently the game cards can hold up to 64GB. Why bother having a “physical” edition release with exclusive DLC then? :person_shrugging:

Gah, I didn’t realise the physical edition was just for show. I don’t understand this game card concept at all. What’s the point if you just have to download it all anyway? Just to have a plastic box with a pretty picture?

The point is to condition the customer to going fully digital so you can take their shit away whenever you like, you don’t have to give a cut to the manufacturer and merchants, you can get all for yourself if you just can make “physical” as unattractive as possible.

yea, still not buying this.

still need to be online even when the Switch 2 is still fundamentally a system meant to be taking these big games on the go.

IO missed the mark.

Buy a Steam Deck.

I would like to get a Nintendo Switch 2 console, but currently I can’t pre-order it at all.
I’m afraid I’m going to miss out on some of the elusive targets that will come after the release of HITMAN WoA SE.
Especially, there is no re-distribution of the real person’s Elusive Target (it was the case in Year 4 Galore).
So, if you miss the distribution period once, it is unlikely that you will be able to play the real person’s Elusive Targets after that.
I find the “one time only challenge” and “limited time only” for elusive targets to be a hindrance in these situations.
Also, how will Weapon be handled in Freelancer mode for The Disruptor DLC, which has been discontinued?
I am wondering if Nintendo Switch2 users will be able to keep it locked all the time and the shelves will be empty.
How will IOI resolve these situations of “elusive targets” for new users coming in from Nintendo Switch 2?

Probably the same way as the Steam release - “tough luck”.

They never activated the Y1 ETs for Steam players.

That’s certainly true.
I too am very sorry to hear that about the Steam version.
It’s probably best not to get your hopes up too much.

That’s what we’ve all been saying since 2016 but IO still thinks ETs are are a good idea.

Again, don’t get your hopes up for this. It’s been about 6 months since that DLC got canned and all we’ve got is a very vulgar radio silence. Most likely, switch players will have to deal with a permament missing item on their wall.

Given the way IOI has handled this so far, I guess that is very likely.
I know that if I expect too much, I will be disappointed, but if possible, I hope that in the future Elusive targets will be “playable anytime, any number of times for an unlimited period of time”.
For me personally, I don’t mind if that is paid DLC.
I hope some good compromise can be found for both IOI and the users.

Reservations for the physical version of HITMAN WoA SE in Japan opened today.
Thank you very much for the procedure to start selling the physical version in Japan.
The only question left for me seems to be whether I’ll be able to buy a Switch 2 on release day.

HITMAN World of Assassination - Signature Edition features all the globetrotting missions of Agent 47 from the original World of Assassination game, including the endlessly remixable side content such as the Contracts and Freelancer modes, as well as timed live content that tasks players with hunting down iconic, elusive targets from pop culture. The new Signature Edition adds to the existing 100+ hours of content in the base game by bundling in all of the HITMAN 2 Expansion Pack, the HITMAN 3 Deluxe Pack content and the Seven Deadly Sins Pack, offering near-limitless deadly action.

confirmation it’ll include at the very least all the Deluxe Edition content in one easy purchase, you love to see it

Finally, the Signature Edition is being released at the same time as the Switch2 console.
I am not able to buy the Switch 2 console yet, so I can’t confirm, but I am curious about something.
There is a HITMAN 3 Cloud version on Switch. Is it possible to transfer the game progress from that version?
Have there been any announcements about this to date?

So is it time yet to talk about how this game has a large price discrepancy exclusive to the Switch 2 version? (It’s cheaper.)

(I’ve also noticed this with the “Star Wars Outlaws - Gold Edition” for Switch 2 coming in September – priced at 80$CAD standard which is a big difference from the 145$ ver. on other consoles, but thats besides the point…)

The Signature Edition comes with HITMAN, HITMAN 2 and HITMAN 3 including the main campaign, Contracts mode, Escalation, Elusive Target arcades, featured live content, Freelancer game mode plus all HITMAN 2 Expansion Pack & HITMAN 3 Deluxe Pack content.

Now, it doesn’t say, but considering it’s absent from the DLC lineup on the store page, I think the Signature Edition also comes with the Seven Deadly Sins pack which would mean it’s the same content included in both the current Deluxe Edition on all storefronts vs the new Switch 2 version.
(133$CAD vs 78$ CAD / your region varies)

Like, this is a bargain for Sw2 owners. I’m happy for you, really. Now give some of that financial relief over here, IOI, please… :folded_hands:

Not sure how many people on the forum are planning on getting it but I am curious how well this version plays now that it’s out

What the heck do they mean 25 locations? Let’s break it down:

Hitman 2016 has 7, Hitman 2 has 9 (counting Ambrose), Hitman 3 has 6

By my math that’s only 22. I guess they’re counting the three Sniper Assassin missions too? But that’s still misleading, and the game’s already so massive they didn’t need to pump up the numbers to make it seem bigger. And Freelancer’s technically its own location too but left out of the count despite being such a big addition.

Technically, Hitman 2016 has 8, because the ICA facility has two different maps, even though it’s the “same” location. Still doesn’t help with the total numbers, but there it is.

Probably counted Sapienza Filmset and Sapienza Political Rally as two separate Locations, just to pump up the number
