Well even though Travis said that IOI isn’t able to help with it, I still think this is a really good idea, and one I’m sure there’s plenty of people who will participate in.
The only problem I see with a like based system is the different platforms will have different amounts of players. While making the maps on different platforms might sort this out, some challenges do rarely get overlooked.
As is I am more than happy to create a contract with pride as a theme, in fact I might do that after I tackle the new ET tomorrow. But I think the curators should be chosen by the community and they should pick the contracts for that month. Although that might also lead to the problem of very “bizarre or specialised” contracts being chosen, but then it will add variety and I don’t see that as a bad thing. We all have our own styles and ways of tackling missions so having ones that allow people to learn tricks from each other is a good idea.
I think a mix of it all would be appropriate. A panel of 3 or-so people who can curate a handful of contracts, and where obviously the one with the most likes should be the ones that is most enjoyable or interesting to add for the community.
It’s weird because everyone complained about Clemens picks and now we want him back. I remember CJ said he thought the themed Contracts ideas were stupid. Eh I liked it. Made sense to me.
Shouldn’t we just start with this? See how it goes and adjust the system where needed? Since @TheContractor had the idea, I think they should decide how we determine the first batch of community FCs.

Well it seems people are fond of the curator-based system, so I think (at least for the first batch) we should try that out
I always wondered how Clemens picked them tbh. In the end there is no objective way to pick contracts, so someone is bound to end up unhappy
It’s definitely gimmicky, but I think prompts work well to direct people’s imagination and the end result is a bunch of contracts with at least the vaguest connection. I also really like seeing how people interpret the prompt

)Not that weird. You can always make things worse, then the previous thing is better. The contracts now are not better (for many here) and they are not related to users anymore.
Since we run a little out of time we might want to go for the curators thing and rethink about it next month.
How would it work? Do the curators check the contracts of their system and then talk in private which should be picked to recreate the others? While sending the original IDs to Clemens.

Yeah, that’s probably the way I’d approach the curator/judge method. Might need fine tuning depending on the volume of contracts submitted
