Sometimes I like to do acacia trapdoors in a box running along a ceiling like it’s a duct, with lighting rods inside and they’re waterlogged. Like some kind of water pipe, I used that on a bilge system for a ship once, where flipping a lever would cause dispensers with empty buckets to suck the water out the bottom of a ship (and you’d flip it back to simulate run-off). It also linked to the ballast system, which isn’t accurate naval engineering but don’t tell anyone
Do you do much redstone in the game, or are you more of a builds kinda player?
We need insurance on the server everyone pays an emerald each time they log on and if they get burned or creepered, they get to deduct a small amount to pay for villager trading to get the goods back haha though in my case, I don’t think avalanches are covered!
I am absolutely awful at redstone. I could never get the hang of it and hardly ever use it in builds unless it’s easy to build. I also forget all the different crafting recipes and have to look them up whenever I do, so getting the resources is a pain. Definitely a builder for sure.
I try to incorporate redstone into builds to make them interactive for visitors, but it’s very easy to accidentally turn a humble countryside build into a fully automated factory devoid of charm. It also kills any medieval or oldy worldy vibe you might be going for when you’ve basically got circuitry behind the walls
I’m a builder too and we seem to have similar ways of building. I’m trying to curb my ambitions on this server because I have a habit of committing to mega builds that take me months to build and dwarf everything in sight
OMG YESSSSSSS!!! We have needed different laterns and chains since they were introduced (what was that like 6 years ago??l and bars for even longer!!! A lot of my past builds will be upgraded from these for sure! I haven’t read the link Blossom sent yet, but I wonder how many icons there are for signs and if you can the size of them?? They look kinda small so Idk how useful they’ll be.
That’s not a bad idea. I usually start amall or do something I’ve got a general idea on what its going to look like once its done and then I stick to more builds with quality, slowly building up a much larger project or slowly building up to a larger project, I usually have a visual shift because that’s about when I really go caving and get diamond tools and such. Your cabin is so cozy and warm! I love it!
I also got a pet parrot (no name, but I’m thinking for a name for him), funny story, it was getting to night and he snuck up on me whilst I was constructing a small villager worker accommodation building by the outskirts of the jungle, and he mimicked the hiss of a creeper and scared the living daylight out of me. I tamed him and ran to bed!
I am so pumped, these copper items (especially the golem and armory) are going to be extremely helpful in building my creative world, which is my only world, but getting better every day.
Oh by the way, before I forget to ask, has anyone know where a good badlands/mesa biome is? I’m in the market for some of the blocks there, but agter searching I couldn’t find one
Thanks! I loaded up my Minecraft to see if anyone stumbled upon one on the Realm stories tab and it turns out somebody did at 1200, 70, 900sih which isn’t the worst distance away, I might make a nether portal there BUT idk really how to do those because its been so long so it might be more hassle than it’s worth
I’ve also just realized I started making a world map and forgot after 1 map I need a bunch of compasses to make the empty maps though because without seeing myself on the map, I can’t orient which is the right one
