Just got the word today, and I’m incredibly stoked!
It’ll be a longform interview, and if there’s any questions the community has that I haven’t thought of yet, I’d love to hear them. We’ll be hosting it live on Composer Club if you want to tune in and ask questions through the chat!
There’s only one real interview of him I could find, and as a composer myself, I have a million and one questions for him. WOA is my favorite game of all time and his music has had a huge influence on how I write.
I also grew up with Ratchet & Clank so I’ll be interested to hear his experience with that series as well.
Official date/time is coming soon, but here’s a link to the server if you’re interested!
Fab news, really happy that you’re getting the chance to do this, @davidrobsonmusic.
I don’t have any particular questions for Nils, but for this Hitman fan “Invitation To Dance” is my favourite bit of music associated with the entire franchise so I hope you pass our gratitude on to him for how much he’s contributed to the games we all love.
I understand there may be contracts with the manufacturer, so asking this question only to the composer might not be very meaningful, but I do have one question.
HITMAN WoA has many BGM tracks beyond those available in the Deluxe Pack soundtrack.
Examples include the Sniper Assassin Mode tracks and, more recently, the Bruce Lee tracks.
Are there any plans to release these unreleased BGM tracks as an additional HITMAN soundtrack so users can obtain them in the future?
I can definitely ask this. The “Himmelstein” music is a constant reference track for me. The full score for those tracks is available on Youtube, but hopefully we get a proper release!
One thing I would really like to ask about him is his returning to certain games to compose more. Like Patient Zero, the Expansion Pass and The Infiltrator. Is he always on hand to compose more? Do these get composed during production of other titles?
Not sure if this is too late but a question on the process on making the music. #
How much does you know before composing, does he get to see the levels during production? Do you get told the general themes and go from there? I’d be interested to know his process!
