Last 10 minutes, Egypt vs Argentina was uncomfortable.
I am an Argentine supporter, but Egypt played a better game.
Next is Argentina vs Switzerland, let’s see who’s side does the FIFA Officials support FIFA is from Switzerland but they are inclined towards Argentina
I’m really hoping for England (and I will be in London for the final). But I guess France is just too strong at the moment. Had a late night/early morning watching Switzerland. Sad my national team is out now, but they had a great run without any big stars in their squad.
I am British so probably should be voting for England but from the very little I’ve actually heard about the World Cup yeeeeeeah France seem to be doing really good
Yes, twist of fate. I am not convinced on the penalty - the defender was clearing the ball, it was an accident, he didnot do it on purpose. Ofcourse nobody will do that fowl in that area on purpose. I tried to see replays, the ball first hit the Striker’s shoulder and so the defender was on air clearing it.
Emotional rollercoaster ride game again. England was up 1-0 and soenthow thought they could drop back and play defence for about an hour. Argentina scored twice in the last 10 min to win 2-1. Super fun to watch but I was pulling for England.
Spain showed a beautiful football game to the world . I can console myself saying Belgium was defeated by the tough team. Spain conceded the only 1 goal in the entire worldcup by the Belgians
Spain was the most boring-ass team to me in this tournament. Part of the reason I didn’t vote for them, as I simply didn’t expect them to score their way to the title. I can’t deny their tactical prowess, synchronisation, and ability to maintain ball possession, but Jesus, crossing and shooting seem to be forgotten skills for them (goes for other teams as well). Either that or I just have a different idea of what football is supposed to look like… Argentina didn’t play jack shit until they started losing again, and I would’ve been pissed off to oblivion had they won after that (lack of) performance.
Also, I got soured by the individual awards. Cubarsí as best young player I can get behind, but Rodri winning Golden Ball was debatable, and Unai Simón winning Golden Glove was just a fucking joke..
Now, the 3rd-place game between England and France? That was an absolute blast. Utter fun wild ride that felt more like an exhibition match. Shame Deschamps couldn’t finish off his national-team streak with a medal, but he had an amazing run nonetheless.
I was for France but I’m glad Spain beat Argentina in the final. One team deserved to win that trophy, and one team deserved cards and criticisms. Boring game, but the better team ultimately won.
