March Roadmap - Moral Ambiguity (2021)

Probably a good time to replay the old games :stuck_out_tongue:

I guess it could be reference to those straight jacket belts that are attached to the beds in the Asylum?

Contracts is my favourite Hitman Game, but I haven’t played it in a long time

I’m very very convinced that one day there will be an escalation where the reward is Pablo Ochoa outfit.
You’ll be happy @MrOchoa

Why not a Franz-outfit :innocent:
The game is already rated for Mature audiences so I don’t see the harm in it.

It also reminds me of the Entertainer outfit in Sgail.
I’m guessing this will be the target.

Alright, wow. Some pretty surprising things here.

  • The Elusive for this month is once again a Legacy target. It’s a bit dissapointing, but I’m still holding out hope that there’s some new H3 ETs coming soon… At least it’s one from Hitman 2 this month, and that game only had 6 to choose from!
  • The Lesley Celebration being the only Escalation this month – and released today is also a bit disappointing. And there’s no Rave Starting Suit unlock? I checked Level 1 and it forces you to start in the default location without changing disguises, so… the escalation is literally themed after using that suit! I wonder why they held back on releasing it… Maybe the ā€˜Raver Suit’ is their preferred choice?
  • Seeing the Satu Mare Delirium is pretty surprising given the leaks on that butcher outfit. Maybe that’ll get added later, then? The two items related to it were both Melee items, and DX escalations have usually been giving us a variety of tools. So, it not being DX rewards checks out.
I’m excited to see what makes this one unique! I also like the idea of a belt as a fibre wire item.
  • Finally, the Seasonal Event. I (and many others) called it that the random posters in Berlin were teasing something (I wonder if they’ll be removed after April?) But the fact that the Suit included is basically the Smart Casual with a yellow shirt, and not even with the bunny mask in the trailer…? Awww.
Also [sigh] Once again, this content will be ripped away from us, until such time as when IOI graciously gives us back the content permanently one year later. I guess the Hokkaido event was successful enough to bring in some new players, so that’s probably why they’re doing it again…

  • The Escalation was nothing special. No frustrating complications like mines or stalkers but nothing special either. That you would unlock new starting locations with each level was interesting but otherwise it felt like something one could easily create in Contract Mode.

  • The Stowaway was one of the better ETs, so I’m looking forward to playing that one again. Also can’t help but think this is a smart move to encourage people buying Hitman 2 after the last ET was from HITMAN 1.

  • Looks like there’s going to be no Absolution disguise, which is a shame. There have been some really great disguisesin that game. A suit that’s a direct reference to Ort-Meyer’s Asylum, however, is a nice touch. Feels more special and unique than the supposedly leaked outfit.

  • The egg hunt looks like fun. Hunting eggs and killed almost-naked people wearing rabbit masks is a step up compared to the Hokkaido Winter Festival. Hopefully we’re getting more stuff like this. Looking forward to Halloween. I just wish we would’ve gotten the bank robber outfit because it fits the Eastern theme.

Judging from the quality of the items and suits I’d say we will get them within time, but as of now no. I think it’s gonna be released around October, but that’s just me.

Also I want to point out the wording of the Roadmap Videos. Clemens has been emphasizing on the Free content. I don’t want to call it since it’s early, but if this ends up being consistent within the coming months we might have additional paid for content.

You bring up a good point. I don’t know if paying for more Deluxe Escalations is a good idea, but if that gets bundled with whatever the extra DLC missions they’re making, it might justify it.
Though we’d have to see whatever it is before any decides on buying it.

I’d much rather they up and announce ā€œhey we’re gonna include more free Deluxe escalations because this game is so successfulā€ rather than have people fork out more money. A lot of people are saying how the Deluxe pack isn’t worth the base 30$, so adding more surprise content to that would incentivize it a bit more, I think. Seems unlikely, unfortunately.

well and again… i see revolver on preview roadmap and happy! finally IOI add revolver! But then i read ā€œdart gunā€ and again angry! wtf with you IO? your Glacier not support revolver mechabics? for 2021 it very hard? why in 2002-204 it was possible!?

I don’t think it’s would be just Deluxe Escalation’s, it’s hard to put value/pricing towards that type of content so it would have to be more than just that.

If anything we should put into perspective of what would make good Paid For DLC judging from prior DLC’s. I’m fine with seeing Item Packs that feed off of our nostalgia for the series and additional bonus campaigns.

At least someone had to model a new-looking revolver-type item?

Making a new animation for reloading and firing would have probably taken a lot more work than what we’ve seen featured so far in the Deluxe escalations.
Maybe we’ll get lucky and they can make a Revolver for some future DLC pack or mission.

Or they could reuse Absolutions Animation :man_shrugging:

Personally I wouldn’t do that. That will create some confusion - when you start at the specific rave starting point, guards let you in, but if you choose the same suit with radio tower starting point, they won’t let you in. And trying to justify this by some kind of invitation at the rave start would be even more stupid - why not let us choose the suit then?

oh yeah this is the same engine, isnt it?

Welp, I guess we’ll see if they include that as a fan-favourite addition.

It is, Glacier 2 ran Absolution and this current trilogy of games. Some of Absolutions Animations have been used for HITMAN 3 cause they were (Alpha) Animations for HITMAN 2016. If you look at how 47 holds his pistols when in cover in HITMAN 3 they are a little awkward and kinda float :joy:

Yeah, I’m still wondering what things they added to HITMAN 3 that people wanted since 2016.
Do we have a list somewhere? Because I can’t see those things in the game, maybe I’m watching badly

Like I’ve mentioned above, I really hope so!! :crossed_fingers:

The butcher suit is too much of a cool disguise to not add it to the game. Again, it’s a nice throwback to Hitman: Contracts so I’m hoping it comes eventually.

Well like I’ve just mentioned to @TheChicken, we still may get that supposed leaked disguise. Although the disguises we are getting are exclusive to Deluxe players, it would be a bit strange to give the supposed leaked disguise to every player when they haven’t had access to all the nostalgia disguises so far ? who knows? IOI may come out and say there will be another Escalation for Deluxe players in the April roadmap?

I don’t think it’s unlikely that at least one extra deluxe content might be added to test how much it translates in player upgrades from the standard to the deluxe version. I’m hoping for a scenario like this!
