MENDOZA, Argentina (Mission #5) - Location Discussion

I rarely do mission stories on my first playthrough, which I usually use to learn the layout of the map. But for some reason on this mission, my instinct if you will told me to do mission stories straight out the gate and that’s the combo I ended up doing… spectacular is right

Not to be political, but Don Yates is a rich, balding, ruthlessly ambitious New Yorker named Don with a wife with a foreign accent. Sound familiar?

The Don is not a name tho, it’s like “Sir” in Argentina, like a position of respect, a way of adressing the person, like some kind of “boss” or “patron”. It’s also used by the italian in the mafia and things like that, tho in Argentina it’s more common and it has no relations to the mafia. A lot of elder men and respected bosses are called “Don” in Argentina, specially in places like Mendoza. Name is plainly Archibald Yates

His wife Valentina and Diana both call him Don. I’m pretty sure Don (or Donald or Donovan) is his first name.

Yeah but he’s a lawyer, not a quadruple bankrupt failed reality TV star. I think the similarities are what we choose to see in them

The name Don and him being from New York was what stood out to me. If he was just Archibald Yates from Wyoming he probably wouldn’t have stood out.

I would like to point out I am pretty sure he is sextuple bankrupt. At least I am pretty sure it was six times.

Don here in Latin American countries is like saying Señor/Mr. That’s why he is refered as Don Cojones, wich could be translated as Mr. Big Balls.

Sure, but his wife calls him “Don” in conversations. It seems like it’s his actual name in this. A bit confusing given the setting, but…

it isn’t uncommon for wifes to refer to their husbands as Don. Even here in Mexico is commonplace. I don’t see why not in Argentina.

OK. Didn’t know that was a thing. Seens strange to me, but I guess it’s just a cultural thing. You wouldn’t see english speaking wives calling their husbands “Sir/Mr”

Also applies to other relations. Like, for example, my dad has a friend to wich everyone (even myself) refer to as Don Rubén.

For other examples, you might find people who refer to their parents as Don/Doña, like in Don Ignacio or Doña Carmela.

Why must we always have a bugged challenge at launch? “Priceless” bugged me in H2 when it was glitched and couldn’t be done and now we have “Grapes of Wrath” in H3.

LET ME GET MY 100%!

I´m curious, have you tried unlocking the lasers for him, see if that triggers him to deliver it? I know he doesn´t wanna serve it, but he also seems to have forgotten the security code. (obviously, I haven´t tried myself yet)

Carlisle refers to him as Don Yates, meaning Don is definitely his name (as I doubt she would refer to him in that particular manner). I agree the setting makes it confusing though, especially with the added Archibald.

I have. It does nothing.

Ah, shame…

For some reason I’m actually fine with this map’s unlockable suit having driving gloves even though it’s a tuxedo. Like I hate that the Ark society tuxedo has driving gloves, I love the Paris one with full gloves but I really like this map’s tuxedo with driving gloves.

Maybe it’s something to do with the white jacket it just makes the driving gloves look really appropriate with it.

John Doe is apparently a Providence herald now according to the pieces on the meeting table, and that Mikhail guy the Constant called on the Isle of Sgail is in there too I guess.

Was he the guy with his picture up at Milton Fitzpatrick?

You guess? He is the same Mikhail Edwards calls, his name is Mikhail Kadir. You’ll find he sits next to Yates when he comes down to his retirement party.
