MENDOZA, Argentina (Mission #5) - Location Discussion

I’ve definitely put the grapes on the table after Yates died, I followed the tour group around in a guard uniform & they did some wine tasting at the end instead of meeting with him. I took one of the glasses & they started talking as if I was disguised as Corvo.

Usually I’d agree, though imagine Portman starting a Fight with the real Helmut Krüger, because he “stole his idea” aswell. Would be hella funny .

It would have been great to see Portman finally meet Kruger and then have Kruger tell him go away because he creeped him out. :stuck_out_tongue:

Has anybody actually managed to do the Estates Wine challenge or is it completely bugged?

I’ve done that, but it seems to be bugged for many other people as well.

Seemed to be working on my first run, got to 2/3 then it didn’t count any further.

That would be great. It would complete Portman’s arc and give him one last utter humiliation.

I´m gonna repeat my and @MissMorbid ´s question and ask, where exactly is Kruger in the level?? I know he has a seat with his name, but I haven´t noticed him anywhere so far…

Just tried to search for him, even in contracts mode if he had suddenly grown hair but I can’t find him. This is probably a thing that someone claimed incorrectly after seeing the nameplate and people took it as a fact. Lies!
I found some interesting names though, probably new James Bond characters to Project 007 lol.

I’ll try again. It may be that I missed some Intel, or even picked the wrong grapes. Or it’s a bug.

SPOILER ALERT (SPOILER TAGS NOT WORKING.)

I’ve also been [spoiler] trying to get multiple mission stories going at once, to see if anything interesting happens. Not much does, although the results can be comic nonetheless. For Don Yates, his beloved meeting takes centre stage. :joy: Even once the asado has been served and his wife is sitting waiting, he remains in that meeting-room. An NPC even said something about “things getting tense now”, which I hope wasn’t just accidentally relevant.

[details=“Summary”]

Oh, and the bodyguard disguise is allowed into Casa Yates, or whatever his house is called, once the Providence people enter. I suppose that’s logical.
In short, once that meeting has been triggered, that’s it. It’s the fall-back end to the mission.

More wine facts.

So as it turns out the Grand Paladin 1945 is a near exact match to the real life 1945 Romanee-Conti and at 558,000USD (up from the 33,000 value it expected to go for) is our most expensive bottle of wine in real life and at 496,000 is also the second most expensive. That is 113 bottle of Chateau Petrus or 400 ounces of gold at the same value for the first bottle.

In fact Bloomberg’s report on the wine is written almost exactly like 47’s presentation speech: “The year was hot overall, the wines super-concentrated, and thanks to hail and frost, production was small. Only 600 bottles of Domaine Romanee-Conti were ever produced…” The rest is made up solely for the game to make it rarer and it is a burgundy (I can’t remember what type of wine the GP is), a real one from the actual Burgundy as well.

I did estate wines on my 1st playthrough on 21st january and it unlocked the challenge.

Right?? Pretty sure the only two notable baldies there aside from 47 are Ford and Black. It´s weird though that IO would put in Helmut´s nameplate and not Helmut himself. Intention, oversight, or is he hidden as an easter egg?

Lol, that along with The Doctor in Romania and all those female npcs with male names makes me thing that IO didn´t really do a thorough check of npc names.

Yep lol. I also found one female NPC who in the contracts mode is shown as her friend right next to her so you can kill that person twice. They are near Corvo Black and Cortazar.

Just did my first playthrough of this location last night and it is by far my favourite in the game. Classic Hitman from start to finish.

Apparently, according to some posts in the bug page, this challenge must be done in a single playthrough. The three bottles must be collected during the same run, otherwise the challenge seems glitched. Hope it will be fixed in the next patch.

Yeah I assumed it would have to be, the problem is I think for some reason the challenge hasn’t reset since my first run (which i didn’t find the 3rd bottle on) so now it’s not registering anything when I pick up any bottle of the wine.

It’s not a massive issue this one, more concerned with the mission story trophy not completed :slightly_frowning_face: Would of been my first ever platinum too.

If you log into the ps4 version, you get another platinum aswell
