MENDOZA, Argentina (Mission #5) - Location Discussion

Try placing the poison vial where the smashed glasses used to be. It was possible in H2 to make Franchesca drink from the vial lmao… might work here https://youtu.be/ehmAo-zYn-8?t=200

I shot and destroyed grand paladin today, but somehow it magically reappeared as someone delivered it to the meeting.

I couldn’t find a way to make him myself… but I found the fastest way to start the meeting (skipping the tour) is to start the mission story for assuming the role as the sommelier and the meeting starts right after you put on the disguise and grab the wine.

I’ll try the vial trick tomorrow, and see if they drink it!

If you go with Vidal for a private meeting as Tobias Rieper (suit) and, instead of killing her, hide from the guards and then escape back up to the party, Vidal will confront Diana and blow her cover. Diana will argue that she only brought 47 along to kill Yates, to ensure that Vidal becomes Constant. Vidal spits that she will have 47 killed.

What happens next is rather surprising. So long as you remain in your suit, Vidal and Diana will stop walking around together and conduct separate routines. If you change into a disguise, however, they will revert to their original route. If you change back to your suit, they will go back to separate routes etc. etc. This could be open to manipulation…

So sommeliers aren’t able to poison drinks undetected? I’m white trash, but I’m pretty sure that’s a fancy waiter

No it is because of the space for the paragraph.

That worked! Thank you! I don’t know how people learn these little tricks.

Favorite part of this mission was during the one where you’re disguised as Corvo Black, and Diana is subtly nudging you, and even helps you get an environmental kill. Good dynamic there.

Hey, saw this mentioned over on the subreddit. Has anybody else actually seen this or have a video?

"If you follow Diana and Vidal long enough, eventually Vidal starts guessing if certain deaths were because of Diana or not. Vidal asks if Blake Dexter (the main antagonist in Hitman Absolution) was an assassination, to which Diana replies “THAT was a parallel universe.”

We’d be glad if you test it and show the result.

Oh shit. Gotta try this one.

Oohhhhhh. Mendoza, even just on a first-playthrough basis, is the best level in Hitman 3 overall.

I love how expansive it is, how it looks like the culmination of everything previously in the trilogy, while upping the stakes and adding in some cool new gameplay twists. (I love how they’ve added Diana as a walking, talking NPC!)

I mean c’mon! It’s a huuuge party, and a Providence party at that! So many conversations going on about previous members being killed, some cool name drops (pretty sure I heard Richard Ekwensi (an ET) in there) and it’s really one last hurrah to IOI’s love of lavish parties, crowd NPCs and plenty of opportunity to sneak around.

Stand-out moments had to be Diana’s use of a distraction in the winery tour (hell yeah, she’s the real MVP), the
“Closing Statement” suddenly revealing itself as a “Mission Story: Part 2” soon after, and of course the culmination of that mission story – some stabby Diana and stabby 47. Teamwork! (God, that was an awesome cinematic kill. Wish the non-target didn’t have to die tho.)
Of course, ending the level by getting into 47’s signature suit and doing an Intel tango with Diana… Wow. That’s some Bond shit right there.

And don’t get me started on that post-level cutscene… Damn it Diana! I trusted you! What’s in the past is done, 47 probably does regret it (as much as he can)… Ugh. This better be an even bigger ploy so Diana can get 47 right into the Constant’s lap, ready and able to kill him. I don’t wanna see my OTP break up.

Can’t wait to explore Mendoza even more tomorrow. It’s got potential (though I’m worried about contracts mode for this level. We’ll see on that front…)

Agreed. The only complaint I even have about Mendoza is that, for whatever reason, the role of Dexy Barat was recast and now she sounds nothing like she did in Bangkok.

And that’s extremely minor in the grand scheme of things.

Damn, even Dexy is in this level? Wowie.

Heidi too, calling Yates out for being evil incarnate.

I replaced everyone’s glasses with poison vials, but no one drank them  .

Nope. Sure there’s a slight chance it wasn’t exactly in place, but I did a pretty good job putting them down where the glasses were.
