MENDOZA, Argentina (Mission #5) - Location Discussion

Yeah, you could well be right. You make your point well.

Anyone know of any straight up wiring locations for Vidal that take place on her usual path and don’t require throwing/dropping distractions?

I’ve been trying to nail down all the spots for each target where we can safely wire them suit only but Vidal seems to be pretty restricted although I haven’t stalked her too much yet to be honest. I’m thinking maybe in the security room that she visits now and again with Diana.

The security room area is where I took her out. I used weapons to distract her guards as I was doing no knockouts but you can make it easier by tranqing them or pacifying them.

I got her coming out of the security room through that hallway with the waiter, before re-entering the party. I think I had to take out a guard first in the hallway though.

Finally accomplished an SASO on Master Mode. I think I was just overthinking the whole thing. Tamara was the issue but it ended up being pretty easy once I realized you could take her out right away. I opted to kill her with the poison syringe, race over to the mansion to sneak into Don Yates’ room, and then just waited for the wife to be alone to knock out so I could take care of Yates. All done in his bedroom so the car exit was accessible. Not the fastest method, but I feel like it would be easy to repeat without issue.

Very well done Mac. Thanks. I have a similar method for Yates but your spot behind the door is much better. I normally hide behind the bed and get him when he’s on the phone once his wife has gone haha.

Ye thats what I suspected i.e. that we’d have to take out or distract multiple guards to get her. I’ve been trying to figure out all the generic locations and methods where we can isolate each target and wire them suit only without too many distractions, knockouts etc but Vidal seems really awkward.

Skillful video though :+1:

Yeah in my suit only run I was in the house wondering what to do and then the wife came in alone and I was like oh… okay. Take her out and you know he’s coming later by himself. Bit too easy really.

Thanks Velvet. The guards were glued to her at that point for me as well actually ha. She must be the hardest target to wire naturally I think excluding some of the targets in Berlin. 2 bodyguards, constantly in public when on her usual route and never picks up a drink.

Once you eliminate the guards in the security room and pacify her bodyguards, she also becomes distractible with the photocopier outside.

Thanks Bourbon. I’ll play about with it today and see what I can find out. I’m putting together a short video of foolproof/natural/generic suit only wiring locations for each target while they are on their usual paths. More for my own purposes because I’m not a YouTuber and because I always forget my best methods after not playing the game for a while haha. But I’ll post it here I think as it might give some people ideas.

What always fascinates me about IO’s work is the attention to small details. This is a very good example in Mendoza.
The female waiter at the dancefloor entrance talks about how Yates hurled a plant off the balcony after recieving a letter. The plant almost hit Isabel, a maid working in the mansion.
The broken plant lies on the ground. The letter is on a table at his balcony and Isabel is in fact a maid working for Yates in the mansion.
I love details like this

I love this stuff too. I’ve spent so much time eavesdropping on gossip in Sapienza

This. Or that targets call each other, I always tried to rush to the other target to hear the call. Its incredible.

True story, first time I tried the golf coach opportunity in Sapienza, I actually reloaded without poisoning the glass just to hear everything she says in her ā€œbreakupā€ speech. Also love how she will comment on the stereo if you turn it on before she arrives.

I noticed yesterday that if you follow Yates around at the villa he stops and talks to his wife near the pool/pond area and she suggests the whole meeting with the Heralds and how Yates should convince them to his side etc. Then when you do the meeting (ā€˜Closing Statement’ mission story) after everyone leaves if you wait there for a while rather than rushing to Diana, Yates makes some phone calls and one of them is to his wife telling her that her plan worked.

I don’t know if this is a thing that’s been in the previous games or if I’m just noticing it now, but the fact that targets and other NPCs really do call each other over the phone and you can see them standing still at a phone animation using your Instinct is such a neat detail. It always wows me when I see it happen.

I love this aswell, always doing it to chek if they actually call each other, and they do. Even in the new maps. Dartmoor for example, if you finish the photographers setup, he will take the pic his own. I stalked Caslisle around the map, she actually got a phonecall from the housecrew telling her to come around. Really really cool.

It is a farewell, to their old lives and their former, unequal relationship

But what if… IO is saving Helmut for an Elusive Target? Imagine if Portman also was there and we had to kill the right one lmao
