Thanks so much to everyone on here for helping me out!
Damn, that Vidal kill was smooth, very nice
So perhaps this was a glitch, but someone else can chime in and they have done this.
I just now saw your comment but was attempting the steps you described but was too slow. Yates called the meeting, Mr. Flowers was asked for the Grand Paladin, and doing it suit only would have required an insane distraction/evacuation.
So I emetic poisoned flowers and the other NPC in the barrel room, took the grand paladin myself, went up to the meeting room, and instead of putting the wine on the table, I stood behind that tricky pillar you mentioned, aaaaand the meeting started. Yates will even mention the wine like usual, but the guard wonât walk around and serve it.
So from the comments Iâve seen about doing this, Iâm wondering what the trigger is.
A) you usually need to place the bottle on the table at the least and my experience is an odd glitch
or
B) merely holding the Grand Paladin in your inventory and getting behind the pillar triggers the speech.
Has anybody else done it without the Grand Paladin on the table?
Sheâs hilariously easy to kill with poison at the start https://youtu.be/DFBRqfxbzOs
Whenever I tried this method my Silent Assassin indicator would turn red
That sounds like an odd glitch, but Iâd wager that the wine needs to be on the table across from Yates for the wine-serving portion to start. How else are they gonna drink?
Maybe Yates just has a scripted âPart 1â of his speech that always plays, and itâs only when the bottle is on the table that it triggers the âPart 2â.
So⌠yeah. Youâre gonna have to poison Yatesâ glass before eavesdropping on the waiter in the barrel rooms if you want to kill him that way, because the meeting gathers pretty quickly after you listen to that bit of intel. Once you have the Bottle, youâre going to have to set off an explosion or firearm so that everyone in the meeting evacuates to a safer room.
(Note: when I did this, the Herald NPCs didnât leave the room, but they were too scared to see me trespassing in my suit. Youâve just got to be quick in placing the bottle as they can calm down fast and spot you.)
Also, also, youâre going to want to enter the room from behind the Asado terrace, as the two guards who stand near where the Meeting speech activates, donât leave the room as far as I knowâŚ
You need to make sure the guard on the left is distracted . I think thereâs enough time to go place a coin next to him and then go to Vidal which should make it consistent
Edit : oh Iâm thinking that there is another issue as she only becomes a target after you talk to Diana and it seems to take a random number of seconds for her to become one, which might be the issue youâre facing.
That might be it. The game may register it as a non-target kill, despite completing the objective, because of how fast it is. I found that my kill on Vidal in the video above is easier, but maybe less convenient since you have to enter the car park. Both of these methods do take up an extra inventory slot for the Audio Distraction and the Duck respectively
Itâs definetly possible, I did it today, but it wasnât really worth it.
I blur on spoilers what I did, you can try by yourself.
First of all, you need to place any kind of poison, even emetic, on the aeration system of the vineyard facility, but donât activate it. This will trigger Diana and Vidal movement, and even Corvo Black will join them. Once this, you need to collect three grapes on the vineyard, still on your suit, wait that Vargas orders to his worker to go to job, then distract him and the woman near him and place the grapes on the table. Vargas will check them and after this will move to begin the tour.
So itâs possible to have the tour meeting without the actively partecipaton of 47, and when the tour will arrive to the bottle room, Yates will appear as usual.
All of this was done SO, but itâs pretty tedious, even if doable.
BTW, why is not worthy, IMO? Because, once you rescue Diana from the Yates mansion, and after youâve neutralized the three guard inside, youâre STILL FORCED to disguise as guard for go along with Dianaâs plan, otherwise Yates wonât come inside. You canât talk to Diana neither as long as you donât dress as a guard.
So, you can start the tour, you can also assist the meeting in SO and without collecting the vine, but youâre still forced to use a disguise for completing this mission story. I was disappointed at the end, it seemed a very flexible opportunity, like the one on Mumbai with the Kashmirian.
You can still give it a try though.
Thatâs the reskin from Haven.
You could poison Yatesâ wine I would guess so you can still do a good chunk of it and get both kills SO.
You still need to retrieve the special vine for that, while in my run I didnât collected it, but the meeting still happened.
Also, forgot to mention, you canât place the grapes on the table until Vargas will order to his worker to get to work, so no, you canât even collect the grapes and place on the table early, before Vargas come to check.
You donât necessarily have to talk with Diana to have Vidal âmarkedâ as a target; alternatively, just run down the road a little and the objectives list will be updated
I actually redid the Grand Paladin mission story as the sommelier (but without the guides) and ran straight away to the meeting, passed frisk, placed the wine, presented it, ceremony happened but the guard never served it and Yates was circling around forever in a loop.
It turns out (when I turned on mission story guides) the trigger for the guard to serve the wine was to talk to a guard after retrieving the wine, so heâd escort me to the ceremony first.
Silent Assassin Midnight Black Suit Only
The midnight black suit can enter yates property and isnât trespassing around his house. Obviously an overseen by IO which will be fixed soon. I had a lot of fun with this strategy.
yes but for this specific kill that would be too late to make the poison kill on time.
I didnât know you could trigger the meeting suit only until you posted that information. I decided to do a SONKO, accident only run based on what you said. Surprisingly, it worked a charm so thanks a lot .
Whatâs up with this broken vase on Yates terrace?
It looks like it was dropped and shattered on impact.
Maybe a failed assassination? Or just decoration?
Backstory-
I think a waitress can be found speaking about Yates receiving a letter and throwing the pot out the window in anger.
