MENDOZA, Argentina (Mission #5) - Location Discussion

Vidal and Morgan seem like crimes of opportunity, Morgan because he was standing near a balcony and Vidal because she supported Diana. If you remove those two factors, I don’t know if anything would have happened.

Morgan is pretty specific but I think Vidal would have died regardless. I mean, the reunion would have to happen eventually and likely happen the discussion with Yates and all.

I don’t know. Yates seemed consumed with hatred for Diana, which led him to see anyone protecting her as a threat to him getting revenge for Morgan. Remove that factor, i.e. if she hadn’t said anything at that moment or if she didn’t go with Diana to the Heralds’ meeting for whatever reason, I think she would have lived to sneer at him another day.

Still, I think she might have died later. Because she, just like Diana, wasn’t afraid of telling Yates his bullshit upfront. So likely would have happened later anyway. Regarless, I will maintain that the reunion would have been her death even with 47 outside of the picture.

I think the biggest threat to Vidal was honestly Edwards. Based on her conversation with Diana she seems like the kind of old money aristocrat with a simplified view of simply deserving things who Edwards spent decades swallowing insults from as they mocked his lack of background, breeding, etc. She’s a politician, not a business person or a strategist.

I have to suspect part of the reason she was chosen as Diana’s babysitter is that Edwards figured that if 47 was coming he’d make sure it was someone he considered expendable so I have to think had 47 not shown up - her days were probably numbered anyway.

That’s something to consider. As much as she said the Partners were complacent and set in their ways, she also believes that questioning hierarchies leads to chaos. Definitely not on the same page as Edwards.

This was a really hard run for some reason. Yates would sometimes go down the stairs from outside, which would mean I’m screwed. I think it’s more timing than RNG though.

Nice run :+1: could’ve easily been SONKO with some little tweaks

Didn’t know the meeting could be activated SO tho. Might have to steal that for my Mendoza ninja run

Great route! I loved how you used the Sieker and emetic poison as well. You may have been able to shave some time off by going in Yates’ car, but it doesn’t matter.
I also waited in that exact spot, but depending on where Yates is, he’ll go down those stairs and mess it all up.

Yeah i did it again after and Yates did come from the outside, luckily i went up into his house and back round, I was thinking about the car exit, but they take Diana up there so i played it safe

I found out you can leave as soon as he starts talking about the Wine during the meeting and it’ll all play out so you can head for an exit, not like when he first starts talking but you can’t leave beacuse he’ll just stop :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Grape only run. It is way funnier than it had any right to be. I had practice runs where I was leaving the house and someone slipped on grapes I placed like 8 minutes earlier.

When I tried this run in the past, you had to be in that specific place for him to start talking. No other spot in the basement triggers it for some reason.
During my run, I actually found that I have enough time to get the car keys if I leave right when Vidal is killed.

Fun little trick I just learnt regarding the meeting opportunity

  • If you kill Yates and then place the wine, nothing will happen. No one will attend the meeting.

  • If you leave Yates alone and place the wine, then all the Heralds, Vidal, and Diana will come. They’ll come in one large stream and there’s too many people to handle.

BUT

  • If you KO Yates and leave him alive and then place the wine, only Vidal and Diana will attend the meeting, no Heralds.

This is the best method I’ve found to easily isolate Vidal and Diana whenever you want. You just have to be careful of their two bodyguards, but the corridor to the meeting is long enough to easily take them both out and then deal with Vidal

If you kill Yates first and then go to the Winemaker, he will still talk with Don on the phone? Or is it some other mister Yates

Lawyer and Corvo do the same thing I think.

Havent had a chance to try this myself yet, but does anyone know what happens if you trigger the meeting but then get rid of Cortesar (Yates head of security) right before you enter the room???
Who pours, sorry decants, the wine?
Does Diana still get escorted to the villa but without being sucker punched first?

I would check but I don’t know what Cortazar’s route is since he looks identical to the other guards.
