MENDOZA, Argentina (Mission #5) - Location Discussion

She reacted a littel differently with me. I first took out their bodyguards by using coins. Then, with Tamara and Diana, they were leaving the security room, climbing the stairs. Because I didn’t want to wait for them to come back, I shot Tamara in front of Diana just before they could rejoin the party. Diana goes “oh shit!” and runs off, and then presumably just resumes her route. I don’t know if that happened for me because they were so close to other NPCs.

I don’t see what’s the issue with the Constant acting normal at all. Diana, yes, she knows you’re on a mission and you both share the same objectives, but The Constant? Why shouldn’t he panic? You’re kidnapping him after all.

If you have the snipers shoot Tamara after getting rid of her obnoxious entourage. Diana talks about what it is like being close to the assassination for the first time in her career.

I did and fucking hell was that the best decision I’ve made all year.

I blew through each level because I was so scared that something was going to happen to my girl. I’ve never been so happy to be wrong. I’ll circle back when I’ve gone through all the mission stories and my heart stops nutting.

And she can’t stop staring at her man no matter what disguise he wears. I tell you she’s the only competent character in the whole series. Who knows fucking 47 is coming for them and doesn’t circulate pictures and triple check everyone in uniform at every checkpoint.

There are some major spoilers here so please be wary, none are Diana related but I wanted to give out a warning.

Funny you should say that because Vidal is the only character that I know of that manages to completely see through 47. If you approach Diana and Vidal as Tobias Reiper three times she invites you to talk in the cinema. She then reveals she isn’t an idiot, 47’s euphemisms are see-through and his sock puppet identity is paper-thin.

Vidal might be a nasty person, but oh boy if she isn’t smart at times.

Btw, the political lore of Vidal is obviously tied with the government of Mauricio Macri from 2015 to 2019. A neoliberal right-wing ruthless party prepared to do anything to benefit the biggest companies in Argentina (they were preceded by a very corrupt government, everything is bad in Argentina, whoever wins we lose).

Anyways, one of the top woman of the political party is called Maria Eugenia Vidal and even if she doesn’t look like the Vidal in this game, the name, the party she represents and the kind of politics she seems to defend made me think of this connection.

If 47 insists on using the same alias that’s a gimme. But I fucking served her wine and she took it like a chump.

She really wanted that Pinot.

Anyone else get a “Dance with the Devil” vibe in the sense that the ICA is gone, it’s just 47 and Diana left?

I like that by now 47 and Diana can gladly be like artists of their craft: freelance.

I loved all these bits (especially the part where the cook realizes most of their former guests/clients are dead). God this mission is such a glorious lorefest

Yeah it feels nice to hear all of this stuff about your exploits. You think it would be fanservicey but I guess because it is the last mission it just feels like a victory lap.

My first time through, I leapt right on the dweeby guy from the law firm. It felt damned good to talk about all the Providence shit we’ve foiled over the years.

It’s a small complaint, but incase IO is interested, I thought it was weird that the ending cutscene was with the Signature Suit. Especially considering this is one of the few levels where you are forced to start with the default outfit. I feel like he should have been wearing his tux here.

Also fun 47 is using the ICA 19 Chrome when many of us are missing it from the inventory along the rest of items from the Requiem pack.

Well he probably got changed and also with one of the missions stories it literally lets you put on your signature suit
