[MOD] Freelancer Variations

for whatever issue I’m running into this issue while trying to load into Ambrose Bay

I own Ambrose Bay (as well basically every content there is) and Ambrose’s Bay main mission itself plays fine.

Couple of tiny things I came across in the last few runs:

The JCVD clone doesn’t dance :smiling_face_with_tear:.

On Hantu, when no crate spawns here on the ground floor of the warehouse, a shadow is still visible. Did not notice this in other possible crate locations.

Mina Ldong (the female hostage on Hantu) can be a target, but she is not shown in red in Instinct.

Wow, no idea why that clone wouldn’t dance, I haven’t touched him :S

Not sure what’s going on with crate shadow, I haven’t assigned any different properties to any of my crates in any of the variants.

I did know about the hostages (same thing happen with male hostage) and I think that’s a big reason I included the (Hawke’s Bay) map. Sadly I was unable to come up with a better solution. Sniper mode forces the story VIPs to always have a special glow, all I could do is force them to never have a glow in Freelancer, which means not even when they’re a target. But I still wanted them to be targets because they have a wide route and it could be an interesting experience.

Can confirm that :+1:! I didn’t interfere and they ended up in the container on the ship, which is unlockable by crowbar. Thought I might have to restart but there is a crowbar near the helicopter. Come to think of it, I could have tested if they can be killed by explosives in there.

1.9.5 - Banker Improvements

It’s been over a month, nothing major just fixing some issues people have made me aware of, and some little improvements I thought of to do.

Changelog

  • Paris: The Banker – Stash no longer clips through couch, removes pair of scissors that clips through couch (vanilla bug), applies Paris night improvements to variant, restores basement CCTV room guards, fixes one bad courier act, Paris staff and guards now enforce basement trespassing (vanilla bug)
  • Cuba: Suspects SHOULD no longer spawn outside of playable area (Untested, let me know)

Just had a fresh deploy and he still does dance. You must have some sort of a mod that interferes with that ET somehow

Didn’t happen again for me either. Aside from the Unofficial Community Patch, the only other mods I have installed are suit ones. Might have been “Tidy Suits”, as I think that was updated between the appearance and disappearance of the error.


Btw, any chance of giving Jin Noo a Katana that is pickupable for the safehouse?

I wish I knew how, I think a test I did had it that you could steal it off his back, which wasn’t even illegal if you’re a guard. Wasn’t sure how to do it in a more proper way so just let it be

Hey, how can I disable Hawke’s Bay from Freelancer? I have the Freelancer Map Remover mod but this map isn’t available to choose in that mod.

Turn it off in the Freelancer Variations configuration

1.9.6 - Hantu Upkeep

  • Ambrose: Restructures to read same files as Random ToDs. [Tweaks Midday to remove dark outside spots, make sun less bright, removes slight orange tinge to sky]

  • Peacock Plugin now uses new entitlements for Hawke’s Bay map slot (Just to be safe, SDK seems to still work without this fix)

  • Accommodates small Hantu Port mod tweaks/fixes (So make sure you update both mods if you have Hantu Port in Freelancer, or there’ll probably be a crash)

Click on “How to play” inside Freelancer crashes the game.

Sometimes the fake NPCs don’t exist right from the start of the mission.

Oh okay. Same for Mendoza midday?

Also, sometimes you accidentally click on “How to play” and that ends up crashing the game.

Miami “Supermap” poll

It was always the endgoal of Real Yacht to be accessible from The Undying/Silver Tongue in Freelancer Variations, so you could kill a target in the Driver’s Lounge then have to head over to snipe one on the boat. There’s been some movement recently to get it to a releasable state (so far with our tools NPCs have been bugged on the supermap and would refuse to move if they were told to go from Miami to the Yacht). If it gets working, the question is what to do with Miami’s variants (Keep in mind as always this mod will keep vanilla version vanilla)

  • Expand The Undying/Silver Tongue variants to include Real Yacht, Keep Standalone yacht variants
  • Expand The Undying/Silver Tongue variants to include Real Yacht, remove standalone yacht variants
  • Keep The Undying/Silver Tongue yacht-less variants, but make duplicate versions that DO have yacht. Remove standalone versions

Blossom Fest compatibility

I have added support for the following mod as a Hokkaido variant

It does not come bundled with FV, the only way to play it is to have that mod with SMF option, and go to the variant picker website to enable it

1.9.7 - The Infiltrator

The Infiltrator Variant

  • The Infiltrator (obviously)
  • New morning ToD (based on my Hawke’s Bay morning)
  • Fixes IO’s trespassing bug in Cross wing
  • Adds a bunch of customised hotel security to the Cross wing
  • Bruce Lee has regular NPC logic and has interactions with 47 removed (Though his in built voice lines may still identify you until I update them in AOM)
  • The judge no longer repeats the same line every 2 seconds forever if Lee does not win the tournament
  • 39 NPCs unique to The Infiltrator are set as takedown targets; then there are vanilla Bangkok NPCs, vanilla Freelancer-specific NPCs, cleaners from the Source that IO included, and my custom security guards

  • NEW VARIANT: Bangkok - The Infiltrator (Morning)
  • Bangkok: ETs (Midday) – Expanded target list
  • Yacht: Fixes early mission completion when you get a courier as target (untested), updates to latest mod files that expand map

Looks like I forgot to post about 1.9.8 (hotfix for SMF) but…

1.9.9 - Noodle Massacre Fix

Changelog

  • Chongqing: Noodle Massacre - Fixes crash (If you have external mod deployed make sure that is updated)
  • Marrakesh: AHBOS - Supplier should no longer float in air
  • Restructures AOM files (used by Noodle) to reduce file size and not double deploy if you have AOM

Piepieonline now knows how to repair Mission Companion and is just waiting on an official SDK release to base it off, so… up to the SDK creators now

Piepieonline believes with shared locations he can have Mission Companion read what variants you have loaded and display which maps you actually might end up in. So if you removed Colorado from your Colorado slot and just have Passenger Train it would show “Carpathian Mountains”. Or if you kept them all on it would say “Colorado/Carpathian Mountains”. This is not confirmed though.

I decided to look back into an old idea I had where you could use SMF options to move a location to somewhere else on the world map. For example if you have Haven Island set to mainly be Cuba, then you click the option and it would be moved there like so:

Is the mod still not working? SDK prompted an upgrade a couple days ago when I opened Hitman. Does that mean it can work again now? Or only on peacock?
