Movie News Thread

I refuse to address this

Fun fact: Blues Clues already got a movie in the year 2000. Not hollywood-level, but it’s happened.

he’s usually grey and blue or grey and black in the comics. it was a pretty good looking suit. shame about the contents.

short ears is frank miller’s doing:

i like them like that or exceptionally long and expressionistic like doug moench:

Oh, goody. A retelling of Finding Nemo crossed with Pinocchio, because some executive thought a movie based on that goddamn song would rake in cash.

Why are the people who make decisions in Hollywood always people who don’t actually watch any movies?

I want another Silver Age style Batman movie. I am sick of all the gritty realistic or Miller-lite takes on his character.

Won’t even be the best Pinocchio movie.

That’s for the sake of printing and to keep him visible in “dark settings.” For live action, he should always be just black, or a dark gray at best. The Batfleck suit was too gray.

Oh, God. There’s not even a point to making such a movie, nobody gives a shit about the story of Pinocchio after Disney did it perfectly the first time!

You think the company that released the Gummi Bear movie cares about the reason a film should exist? It isn’t even the only Pinocchio film coming out, Guillermo Del Toro is making one as well.

in the 40s, sure, but he’s had all black suits in the comics since. regardless, those are his iconic colours and affleck’s suit is far and away the most accurate live action suit to date. all-black is dull.

I have the luxury of knowing absolutely nothing about comic books (the only comics I’ve ever read were the Dark Empire thing where Luke Skywalker joined the resurrected emperor) so I have no idea what a comic-accurate batman should or shouldn’t look like.

That said, I haven’t had a problem with the suits for the most part, I just feel like it’s tiresome at this point. Seems like every movie is either a complete retelling (of the same story) or it’s part of a trilogy or “extended universe”. I prefer my batmen campy, cartoony, and silly rather than dark and brooding and “real” I guess too.

Perhaps, but that Affleck suit, real or not, looked like a kid’s pajamas with the jarring gray body piece and the black accessories. Black might be dull, but it doesn’t look silly.

true, the lego batman movie was probably one of the best batman movies and that was pure comedy in a setting where everything is toys

I’m moderately excited for battinson and his movie. As much as a i love ben affleck, im glad his batman got shafted. he wasnt batman at all, he was punisher light which is boring as fuck. Dont blame him for it though, zack snyder is just an all round awful writer

dude is dressed like a bat. it’s always gonna be a little bit silly, no matter the colour.

speaking of which, i take it you’re not a fan of the batman of zur-en-arrh :grinning:

basically, batman on drugs. he has a baseball bat. literally what happens when you take bruce out of the batman equation.

If Batman was with the X-Men…

nah, he’s way cooler. grant morrison’s run on batman is just full of comic book goodness. well worth any bat-fan’s time.

@Accidental_Kills98 back me up here. it’s great, right?

Not accidental kills, but can confirm that was a great run

It is perhaps the best run. Sorry this took so long, I had a booster shot and it has taken me five hours to feel fresh.

good man!

ah. hope you’re feeling alright, bud.

Better now that five hours ago that is for sure. It didn’t last long the first time I felt shitty so this will hopefully be the same.
