It was never said or written anywhere previously. It was only within the game data afaik.
Playing this at the moment. Love the “new” facility!
Possible spoilers for anyone not yet seen the ET:
Very interesting ET. A lot of targets and kind of funny at some moments. Really want to see how speedrunners deal with it. But it seems like a good concept overall for the next Hitman game. ET as a one-time opportunity with some unique trophies (/challenges) system and, on the other hand, a small playable DLC with a mission (instead of arcade) like in case special assignments from Hitman 2.
Also, this DLC shows that it is good to think about the map as a place with some districts that can be used separately, and thus the rest of the map can be cut for optimization.
In case you’re wondering, no you can’t just take out Max Valiant first and complete the mission without the other objectives
Currently playing the ET and enjoying listening to the tour. Perplexed as to where I can really start, playing it safe in the Arcade before I touch the live version!
What I find quite amusing is Pritchard’s concerns of Max Valliant’s program being unethical, yet he himself is a member of a clandestine organisation that harbours assassins for hire, and even mentioned in the mission itself, an agency choosing money or power when choosing contracts…
That isn’t weird. For example, in Absolution’s trailer for The Saints (the nuns in latex with guns) you can read in a closeup that a board member of the ICA finds troubling both their nature and way they dress for being amoral and objectifying.
So yeah, even in the murder business they have their own sets of principles.
This is one of the best ETs theyve ever done, i failed my first two runs but the way theyve changed up the facility and the amount of depth to the kills is amazing. The clones themselves are bunched into groups but the way their routes are affected by the Max meetings is really fascinating
I thought it was added for the trailers, but the IOI logo shows up in the in-game briefing as well. I don’t remember seeing that in other briefings.
Does that confirm IOI exists in the Hitman universe ? Some computers show their games after all.
It happened once before.
The Patient Zero campaign. (the Author briefing, when in-universe a single mission transforms into a full campaign. A fact that arrives with an “IOI presents” “Title Card”)
this elusive target’s concept and execution is really good oh my gosh
i had to alt+F4 because 2 bodies were found in the sauna though
ICA has had qualms about certain morals and ethics before. They’ve never pursued their own cloning program despite having 47 on their payroll (Travis was breaking protocol by making Victoria); they had issue with the Ether virus, both because it puts them out of business but also it was simply too dishonorable for them to stomach; they’ve always tried to maintain professionalism and make kills quick and clean whenever possible and avoid casualties, they shy away from hiring agents who are sadists and enjoy causing pain and carnage, etc,. They did start to go a bit dark toward the end as Hush and Royce were starting to take the agency to a place close to what the Ether virus did, but they hadn’t yet abandoned their principles completely, so yeah, I think they’d disapprove of what Valliant was trying to do.
I am so happy rn. Easily the most fun ET to play with, taking 40 minutes to achieve SA and get as much opportunities as possible was a delight.
I was kinda dissapointed that Valiant himself just hid in the room and that’s it, a shame, but the surprise (I didn’t look through any trailers before) of 13 clones was just perfect. And a tie to the Romainia project, details like bullet marks, its just… extraordinally refreshing. This is practicaly a new mission, and IOI did outdid themselves.
That said, I do feel that it will be way too dificult for casual players to get SA, considering the stats for ETs and the difficulty of this one.
Definitely, I’m curious to see the stats for this.
I had to improvise and use the coin lure for a few of the clones as their animations became stuck!
I got SA on the Arcade level on level 1 after 38 minutes of exploring! But how I am going to tackle this on level 2 with the mandatory complications of no disguise changes I am not sure. Getting down to the 6 clones in the tanks and turning the temperature valve on was tricky.
He has a pretty length route tho when he does his tour and that bit where he kills Pritchard and the place turns hostile was perfect. This revamp of the facility was literally something I remember suggesting to myself as a way of making it more fun, with the fact they turned the data core into a second level AND added multiple doorways to get in and out. The level is no longer as spiraly. Plus adding and changing rooms wholesale? Genius. WHY can’t these be in Contracts/Freelancer without mods?
The part about lack of the map without mods is a real shame indeed(
But I really like how they redid the map as well, and made use of number of targets: wherever you go, you face a clone, and that’s sick.
Here are the links if you want to try them out! (spoilers for the et)
Even the clones have nuances, like if you take out a researcher the ones in the gym will go up to the locker room in the floor above for an ISO opportunity
It’s also sometimes kinda surprising… Like when you punch the clone as pritchard/guard (an opportuniy under a spoiler), and then you get that it wasn’t accident kill, I was like: “FUCK THE RESEARCHERS GONNA FIND THE BODY SHIT SHIT SHIT”.
Also the part where you come in to put the dancer out of misery… I think that they just blocked the sight of npc with invisible wall, but not understanding that while caring about SA is kinda worrying. But they don’t even care if you shot him in research outfit appearently which is… lmao.
