To be fair, every AAA game nowadays takes billions of both money and time to make, so it’s not that surprising that is taking this long. Unfortunately this also seems to be the reason why every AAA game is failing nowadays, the market is just unsustainable
at this point and entire companies are being shut down after just one bad game. Let’s hope IO doesn’t fall on this trap with 007.
Millions yes, not billions.
And games fail for so many reasons, and is certainly not specific to AAA either, so I feel like trying to blame it on one factor is misleading at best. Multiversus died due to mismanagement, as an example.
Remember the '90s, when videogames had 10x less people working on them and 10x less budget, but were still 10x more fun than most modern games
But something must have stalled with Project 007’s development, as we’ve not even had a screenshot since the 2020 announcement, and only last year IO hired a Mission Director for the game. We could have had two new WoA Hitman games by now if it wasn’t for Bond! Probably.
Honestly with the what, 5? Studios now i thought that one studio would keep working on a new Hitman game or at least a re-release of the HD Collection for PlayStation and Switch or something.
Given how money hungry IO are these days (looking at you Episode Sapienza!), I’m surprised they haven’t done this so that people that already own the Blood Money HD thing from a few years back have to rebuy it to get the other two games as well.
My guess is that Project 007 taking so long has something to do with the rights holders of Bond. They haven’t been happy at all with how the movies are going, and we don’t have any news about a new movie’s script or even who the next Bond will be. They might be really hands-on with the game and needing to check on what IO is doing for their approval. And if they don’t like it, then IO needs to spend a lot of extra dev time to fix it.
It might also be that IO are doing a lot more work on the second and third game’s stories now already, cause if they have a plot point in mind for the third game they wouldn’t want to spend two games building it up just for the rights holders to say no and make them change it.
I do feel confident that we’ll see something more significant about the game this year, such as some in-game footage or a cinematic trailer.
Honestly I’m still surprised they haven’t ported Silent Assassin and Contracts to newer consoles yet. Could title it *HITMAN HD Enhanced Collection Vol. 2" or something… knowing IO I’d expect them to get cashgrabby again and charge another 60$ for both of those games, a full price release (despite these games being two decades old at this point) like they did for BM and Abso…
Then you haven’t played that many modern games.
We could have had two new WoA Hitman games by now if it wasn’t for Bond! Probably.
I doubt that. IO had already stated that they were stepping back from Hitman even before P007’s announcement.
Some shameless self-promo here, but I find my original video (the first one) easy to follow as it takes you through a normal route. It’s also not artifically inflated to 8+ minutes for the sake of ads and watch time…
Although this has reminded me to re-title it for the challenge.
Make sure Xbox is included in that please!
This would be cool to see. I know we’ve technically got the games already enhanced, but seeing them further ported/remastered would be really cool! Very much like what’s happened with the Tomb Raider games recently, it would be cool if the same happened with the classic Hitman games
It’s better than the one I watched to get the locations, you took more time to line up the shots so it was easier to see what was being shot at (although the third one was still hard to follow). And you didn’t do “no UI”, which is another thing others do that makes it hard to follow what’s going on.
But I still find a well-done text guide with screenshots easier to follow for a “find the objects” thing like this, it’s personal preference as much as anything.
P.S. If you want to improve your video further, I recommend editing the description to include timestamps for each cat to make seeking to them easier. See this video for an example of the technique.
2h, one single cat…
I dont want to spoil it nor do i want to waste more time on it, what a dilemma
I agree, if I were recording it again I’d definitely linger a bit longer. I just didn’t want to get spotted!
Completely fair and understandable! I wasn’t trying to discount your text version of course. I do actually agree with you, especially when you want to skip to the information instead of how to get there/someone rambling on (there’s a reason Steam Guides are very popular).
I’ll do that. Thanks!
im probably looking too much into it but The Forger drops around the 9th anniversary of Paris right?
Well, at least we’re slowing getting closer to the next content drops now! Few more days until the RFID trigger taser too.
The new challenge is out.
You can find it in Dubai, On Top of the World
Sky-High Voltage
- Simultaneously eliminate Carl Ingram and Marcus Stuyvesant by electrocution.
Completing it will unlock the RFID Triggered Taser (and 4000xp!)
So, how does this thing work? I’ve never used any of the RFID tools and don’t know their function.
When you take either the RFID explosive or taser you get a special coin with it after a npc like Janus for example picks it up you can place the explosive / taser somewhere and when the npc holding it gets close enough the explosive / taser automatically triggers
Codename-24 is right with their explanation of how the new RFID triggered taser works. Which means the official description of the device is wrong. It says the taser only fires if it is placed in water, which is not true. The only requirement is an NPC carrying the accompanying coin gets close to the taser, then it is triggered. 47 holding the coin and coming in range doesn’t do anything.
EDIT: Placing the taser and then placing the coin next to it also works, but that kinda defies the purpose of the device.
