Season of The Dragon Roadmap - Fall 2025

This makes me realize I never tried to KO Lee and shove him in a box like I did with Diana in Mendoza to see if that would affect the mission :x

As always, live for those want to obtain the new dragon duckie drop! (should go live somewhere in the next hour or so)

I’m curious regarding your Diana experiment in Mendoza.
You would lose one exit (dance floor), but as the objectives only state to not eliminate her (and to speak with her in the kind-of story mode), are there other effects?

Best regards.

So… Did IO forget about the drop again?

At least this time they didn’t fire blank shots.

You can continue the mission as usual when she’s in a box. I haven’t tested how it interacts with Yates’ speech in the basement though (IIRC I had already killed him when I tried that).

My patience for IOI is wearing wafer thin.

It’s now live!

So The Dragon Duck is… interesting. It will shoot fire if activated, which can be used to lit oil puddles. This could be good if you are trying to get accident kill, however because it explodes soon after it negates potential SA. However, there are two ways NPC can die after being lit on fire.

  • It will attempt to put out fire but fail and then die
  • It will die immediately by “tripping” and falling

Unless the second death is activated, NPC will die from explosion. So yeah, that fire is mostly cosmetic feature. Maybe if they made that by pressing it for first time, it would shoot fire, and then for second time, it would explode, then it would’ve been awesome, but just like that it’s kinda useless (outside it looking cool).

The Dragon Duck also activates leaking propane flask.
And it will count as an accidental kill.

And since it’s a duck, it means it will be seen and attract any single NPC toward it.
Which is a unique combination.

Alright. That actually sounds awesome. You got me IOI!! I just created a Twitch account and linked it to my IOI account.

Could someone please explain how this works? There are some Roulette matches scheduled for later today. Does watching those qualify or is there something specific you have to watch? Is redemption automatic? How do these drops show up in-game?

If you’ve watched for a few minutes, your progress should be visible here:

Thank you both! Looks like Frote is one of the Roulette contenders. Hopefully, he’ll have them enabled.

I always do, thats why i always post here when a new drop goes live

I generally avoid watching other people play video games, but those Roulette matches are pretty entertaining. Sniping Janus’ stove from the starting point was unbelievable. I’m still slow-clapping.

The Dragon Duck is awfully whacky. It would be a prized tool if it were available in Freelancer, but its value in the main campaign wasn’t immediately obvious. Next time I watch a Roulette match, there will probably be people catching on fire and blowing up all over the place. Haha.

Have a lot of the Twitch drops had functional twists? I though they were all just reskins(clutter).

Most of them are literally just reskins (mostly purple ones), so you can grab those as-and-when they suit you. The dragon duck is the first item for twitch that has unique properties, though I wouldn’t say it’s overpowered or anything (as people further up the page have alluded to, you need to get explosion radius’s right and trigger it at the right time, so that’s already a bit finnicky and requires skill to do).

In theory, a new player could (try to ) follow TheKotti’s guide and reach full Whittleton Mastery in 26 minutes:

Interesting how, not only have these patch notes disappeared (as have any notes since June), but the briefcase not appearing when holding a large item in Freelancer is happening again! :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

It must have been changed at some point because I remember being able to KO her with the Kalmer and stuff her in a box without any problems… but I tried to do that again today and for some reason she wakes up from the Kalmer shot after a couple of seconds, I couldn’t even drag her to the box :x

She actually woke up right in the middle of being dragged to the box. I’ve never seen this behavior elsewhere in the game, when I tried KOing her a couple of years ago she wasn’t acting different from any other NPC (she was also reacting very weirdly to the durian, like going up stairs to vomit in front of a tree while she was 5 meters away from the door to the loo).
