Serious question, do we have like a mute or hide button for specific users posts if we want to? This is getting dragged man & I just want to enjoy the thread.
Apologies in advance if there is an obvious solution i’m unaware of.

Welcome to “I want to hide the game dev talk and not hear about IO potentially exploiting their users”.
Click on a user profile’s name, click the bell, then “Ignored”. This will hide replies, though a “View X hidden reply” will appear, which will show the posts.
At some point it gets tiring to constantly type out “Special Assignments”.
Also, SpecAss is rather funny as truncations go. Herbalist Ass is also quite good.
I quite like Undying Ass as well
I kinda see where you’re coming from, but also, challenges should be…er…challenging, but fair (looking at you blooming flower). Making challenges which amount to entirely expected scripted gameplay of the ET is less a challenge, and more a checklist.
It also contributes to the whole “the price increase feels unjustified” discussed above, where you’re not exactly getting your money’s worth in that department. Honestly, just do an extra set of challenges that are more esoteric and ask the player to do odd things, that would go nicely with the assassination challenges.
Hell, make a challenge pack on them and add another new item to unlock (Herbalist especially has pretty…bad weapons in its DLC pack). Having ten - twelve challenges would be a lot better in justifying the price increase than five.
No sense in being sassy about it. Your attitude stinks…
Thanks though. You’re exactly who I needed to get rid of. ![]()
There’s some dramatic irony here.
To be fair, challenges have been like that from the beginning, but I agree that they could’ve added some extra, actually challenging, challenges on top of the easier ones we have right now.
This would probably be unpopular, but I wouldn’t mind if they made the dlc items also have a challenge attached to them, I would like that a little better than items just randomly showing upon my inventory.
Probably unpopular opinion tho, cause it would make it harder to use the dlc items.
I do expect the challenges for the previous CelebrETs will be… somewhat meh since the missions weren’t made with challenge potential in mind. Any future CelebrETs should provide more entertainment through their challenges.
As for the existing ones…
Sure, you could choose not to do this - but when the content isn’t new and your players will have already squeezed all the gameplay juice out of the content in the past - you can’t really expect much else. ![]()
This is how 7DS did its items, and I don’t recall much objection to the unlock process.
Different kind of design, similar to writing versus special effects. I don’t have a guess as to which costs more for IOI.
Also, rumor has it that they had some of those things already lying around, like the cure weapons.
It may also be that the continuing increase in expansiveness of the missions in whichever sense reached a threshold, either they could raise the price to fund it or have to pull back. And they decided to risk the former.
Though they are called the same things, the “cure” weapons are an internal name for instant sedation.
My main takeaway was that the missions we’ve had previously are generally as complex in multiple ways, if not moreso, than the Herbalist. I do agree, a concept artist is not the same as a writer, but these things still take time and money to produce collectively as a team.
Going off the previous missions, IO liked having a single expanded narrative for each mission, and It’d strike me as very out of character for them to stop doing that. Maybe the budget finally started to take it’s toll and they really do need the funds, as you said, but I really don’t think so.
With the latest update and a new CET and SAS appearing in Contracts Mode (by mistake? @IOI_Artjoms), this is an interesting option that can give the mode new “blood.” That made me think about the other CETs (/SAS) in Contracts Mode, and I believe that The Herbalist, The Dragon, and The Drop can be good additions.
Add them to Freelancer too, as well as Garden Party and the other variants!
We get it, man, you made an okay video about the Durian some time ago and some folks agreed with you, but your ego expertise is honestly getting out of hand.
Made quite a few more videos on Hitman’s mechanics and balance over the years, that’s not even my most popular one, but sure, let’s be flippant about it for a cheap shot at my apparently inflated ego?
Just to clarify, me actually seeing the perspective of others in a conversation while providing my two cents on the matter is an ego trip? That’s just…a conversation, where I’m discussing the game with people and happen to have knowledge of. I don’t pretend to be some kind of expert, but I’m safe in the knowledge that nobody who comments on the regular here is either.
This is pointlessly antagonistic, and adds nothing to this otherwise-intellectual conversation about the roadmap and SpecAss, Herbal Ass and Undying Ass’s, which I actually thought was getting quite interesting.
I have no interest in fighting, verbally or physically, particularly if it exists to derail yet another interesting conversation. And this was such a lovely morning.
