I never said anything about Chongqing feeling (with or without reason) small, I said it does not feel, to me, as realized as it could be.

Chongqing is still my favourite H3 map despite me also feeling it could be a bit more. At the time, I think it was Mattias Engstrom who said that people rarely replayed the big maps so they didnât focus on that for H3 but that heavily reduced budget does feel suspect now.
Chongqing has an absolutely amazing outdoor atmosphere but sadly the indoors arenât that great. The Block is really uninspired and boring. The facilityâs alright but infiltrating through the vents gets kinda tiresome after the 50th time. I wish there was more focus on the small buildings, as I like the restaurant and the apartments that really give a âcrampedâ feeling, but there are too few of them ![]()
The wording in the blog post is extremly confusing.
The normal Undying ET will be avalaible only to people who own the game for one month.
The arcade contract will be free for everyone (even starter pack players) for one month.
But it also says that the arcade mission is included in that DLC (which they call âcosmeticâ for some reasson)
So what will happen after a month if i buy that DLC ?
We donât know. combatglue dropped the post with the roadmap and hasnât come back - so they donât know weâve asked this question multiple times. ![]()
Youâll keep this:
And lose this:
Most important thought even though you lose this.
You gain this.
Yes⌠BUTTTTTTTTTTâŚ
Obviously I have no metrics to back this up, but just based off of the leaderboards (on Xbox) it doesnât look like people are playing the shit out of the Arcade ETâs.
I personally would replay individual ET contracts WAY more than the Arcade versions, which I havenât touched since completing them. Because of the 3/5 structure, theyâre a pain in the ass to speedrun.
The Undying Arcade ET will end up the same IMO.
Just because Arcade is a crap.
If there wouldnât have been those stupid restictions, it couldâve played a role of permanent Elusive Targets, though still, Elusive Targets as they are will always top Arcade.
If there werenât those stupid restrictions, Arcade wouldâve been more popular, but still original Elusive Targets will always top Arcade
Arcade would work alot better if instead of pre made escalations these would be RNG escalations, just playing 3-level escalations truly not knowing who is your next target, way more intriguing.
heads up everyone that this guy is out tomorrow
Most restrictions are optional.
But imagine if they include some restriction that cannot be avoided like more enforcers or restricted loadout in the UndyingâŚ.
This is the most accurate description (to me) of why the Arcade mode doesnât work. All the community wanted was the ability to replay the Elusive Targets. Instead we got a bunch of restrictions that ruined it.
In normal Elusive Target mode we have one shot, one option to take out the target. If that succeeds, great, but there are so many different ways to do things that maybe we wanted to try out a few different methods. Maybe we wanted to try to rig up an accident or just straight up shoot the target in the face or make someone else kill them entirely. Canât do any of that though because itâs one-and-done. Even bringing them back year after year doesnât solve that because theyâre still A) time limited and B) one-and-done. If you fail you lose. Experimentation with the targets requires trial and error and the current formula doesnât support that at all.
Now, yes, but originally they were mandatory. Due to player feedback they changed that to optional but restricted loadout is still mandatory (because thereâs just no way to make it optional). As you said, more guards, more cameras - not optional.
All we wanted was the ability to replay each target over and over without any sort of restrictions but we apparently canât have that.
I am delighted that the Undying is finally coming back, but if there are restrictions on how we do it, itâs still not going to be quite what we have been asking for.
Iâm probably among the minority here but I actually like the restrictions on the ETA, as it makes me favor strategies I wouldnât necessarily have taken with those targets (in fact I liked them even more when they were mandatory and super punishing, but what we currently have is a good compromise between difficulty and variety).
I absolutely loathe the miss-them-or-fail-them-and-itâs-over gimmick of regular ETs though, so it just happens Iâm also part of the âmake ETs permanentâ team as it would allow me to actually have fun and experiment with the targets instead of going for efficiency (read: fart bombs) every single time because of FOMO.
Thereâs no reason we canât have both.
Thatâs a fair compromise. Iâd like to have both.
Itâs always hilarious when I see people trash talking the complications on the Arcade, itâs like they donât even know what the word âoptionalâ means. I get it with the unskipable complications, but even then, the targets from those contracts are also available on others that have optional complications, the only exception being The Deceivers, which is legit upsetting that IO decided to only put them on restricted loadout contracts.
Iâve been able to try all of the strategies I wanted to do on most ETs on the Arcade (you can even play roulette with them), so I donât see how it doesnât allow experimentation. The only complains that I understand are the 12 hour lockdown if you fail, which discourages riskier approaches, and the fact that you also have to kill two other targets that you might not like; I always try to avoid contracts with The Food Critic for example.
Firstly, thatâs irrelevant. Nobody wanted them in the first place, optional or required. Secondly, not adhering to those complications, optional or not, and the player does not get the best score, and that is something that matters to many players. Add onto that the fact that you canât play some ETs without going through others, and it is very clear why people donât like Arcade all that much. It was fun at first because, hey, it was some level of control over being able to play some ETs. But, the novelty of even that has worn off, because it just reminds us that we still canât play any ET we want, when we want, how we want without the score being affected.
Doesnât mean that people havenât been able to get over themselves and their expectations and still been able to enjoy playing it.
Just because the group that doesnât enjoy the Arcade is more vocal, doesnât mean that their views represent the majority of players. Also, donât forget that this forum is just a small fraction of the gameâs player base too.
