Seven Deadly Sins Act 4: Lust

I haven’t uploaded an Escalation run since Pasqual so here we go.

It’s a 2:31 4 star Silent Assassin run. 4 stars due to skipping the “Optional Objective - Eliminate The Pretenders”.
I might do it next week with the Optional Objective. It just takes too much time with getting the right 3 safes.

This morning I got around to making a kind-of tutorial video for “The Lust Assignation”. This includes the 3 “best” safe’s (IMO) as well as pictures and the 3 clues needed for each of the 8 targets. Hopefully this helps a few people out

Is there a listed challenge for the Serpent Wrap? Couldn’t see it.

I had a lot of fun with this, even though I apparently cannot decipher the clues to save my life. :man_shrugging: I personally feel like all the safes are fairly easy to get to, but I’ve been going around Berlin suit only since I first played it so I’m pretty familiar with the safe paths.

My favorite remains Sloth because it was a very interesting concept in one of my favorite maps. I think Pride and Lust are pretty fun but kind of limited in terms of challenges. The only one I don’t like is Greed mostly because I drove myself insane trying to collect all 60 coins. I was having some fun in the beginning but constantly hearing the frog at the start caused my to literally mute the tv after awhile (and I swear sometimes he would just extra lines just to bug me more).

I appreciate what IO seems to be trying to with these; they all have unique mechanics and are kind of bonus mission/escalation hybrids. That said, they all also have varying degrees of (relatively limited) replay value and somebody’s teenager was given free rein with an Instagram filter. THAT said, these can seem hit or miss because the different styles and gameplay are going to register differently to different people. Collectively, these only increase my excitement for the Dartmoor Garden Show, which seems like it’s going to take the hybrid format to another, grander level.

Great idea. Clues 1-3: admirer, clues 4-6: who extra to kill.
In addition: I think level 1 of this escalation could have been just get the admirer, level 2 also kill the one target from clues 4-6, level 3, kill them all except who is revealed in clues 4-6. Or some variation around that.

Alright, so those 3 clues are tricky as two of the 8 potential NPCs have the exact same 3 traits. So it’s either
the woman in blue dress or the man with slicked hair. Both of the are on the right side of Lust.

I’ve gotten those 3 traits a couple times and it’s random which one of them it could be.

Got in, man with the slicked hair although I failed trying to kill all the pretenders.

What’s everyone’s best methods for eliminating the pretenders?

really enjoy the isle of sgail music they implemented in Lust. it fits. my biggest complaint would be the fact that you can’t save, since it’s technically an escalation. there’s so much ground to cover, it’s hard to do it all in one go.

funny side note, I have yet to complete it but the first time I tried it I dropped a chandelier directly on the secret admirer within the first minute. :skull: closest thing I’ll ever get to a speed run lol

I agree with the music, thought it fitted perfectly! A save would be good, especially when going for the 6 clues challenge.

Overall I really liked it, frustrating at times but it’s something different and I enjoyed the randomised addition to this one, hopefully more of the same in the Dartmoor Garden Show.

All challenges complete apart from the assassinate all the pretenders in which I need to come up with a quick method for this.

Warning:

Do NOT sit down in the exit chair until the objectives are completed, because you won’t be able to get up. (don’t know if it’s a glitch or intentional)

My best run so far, completely ruined… so frustrating!

Tbh Im surprised Diana didnt butt in and spoil the experience like Dartmoor.
“47, THAT is your target.” :expressionless:

I did 50 restart and get this. Can somebody found optimal route for this escalation? I found three matches 4-45, 6-7, 9-42.
 P.S. Nicely done IOI :smiling_imp:

Nice!

It’s pretty obvious looking at the data, but I did a quick chi-squared goodness of fit test to a discrete uniform distribution on the safe frequencies and it has a test statistic of 3.28. Even at a 10% significance level the critical value is 17.275, so there is very strong evidence for a uniform distribution. That is, there is no obvious bias in the random spawning of those safes.

There are 665.280 possible combinations for 6 in 12. If you can provide a list of running times between all of them (including from start and to exit), a script can find the shortest combination. :stuck_out_tongue:

This is too much for me. There is no need to hunt for 6 safes. I go through this aggravation by restarting the mission waiting for three of these 5-7-8-9 to appear, this is quite often. Then I check my cheat sheet

More likely to have no smokers it seems.

The third tile on the top row is a smoker. She heads off to the sofa on the right side (from your starting position) for a smoke.

That is a great cheat sheet. I can imagine lots of people wanting to refer to that.

that almost happens…well not with Diana, but if you walk close enough to an NPC and they happen to be a target, that little “target is near by” tune will play, kinda spoiling the surprise
