I was wondering if they could finish the Hitman 2 cutscenes, I like to hear input from IOI themselves if here, and even members of the community because like it seems like it would be a nice thing to do make them more like Hitman 2 cutscenes, and additional i had questions about the cut Ether skyscraper level, what did we know about it besides what IOI already told us, and additional can we see one more level in Hitman 3 as I remember seeing some pamphlets in Hitman Ambrose Island for a Ether storage facility, and like yeah I hope it ok for me to ask this here because i’m just curious and want to bring this here for people who didn’t know about any of this
Won’t ever happen. We’ll get full offline play before that.
Nah. I like the still image cutscenes, I wish they kept with them in hitman 3 actually
It would be nice but too expensive for something they wouldn’t see much of a return on.
They’d see no return on it. New players aren’t going to come rushing to play the game, and old players aren’t going to come rushing back, just because the H2 cutscenes were redone. Of all the things they could do to improve the game that they don’t have a financial incentive to put in the time and effort for, that one is at the bottom of the list.
Depends on the day for me,sometimes for instance I like to play with instinct turned on and sometimes turned off, I like both styles honestly, it just depends how I feel at the time I’m playing the game and would just rather have the option to switch between the two styles.
I reckon there’s no financial incentive to it, cutscenes, regardless of the approach take a long time to make and personally, I think H2 are honestly higher quality than H3 in-engine cutscenes, never understood the hate towards that unique artistic approach even if done under constraint
The only incentive for them to do it is to make WoA more of a cohesive single product, but thats not enough to make it happen.
I have taken a liking to them over the years in a way, it just like it feels weird in a way at times as all I understand the circumstances though. i’m glad the game was still able to be made either way but man New York and Haven were such great and amazing levels imo I literally mean I like everything to just line up perfectly to make this trilogy even more perfect as the cutscenes are nice and I taken a liking to them but in a way they still feel out of place but they did a good job in making them though and in a way it forced them to be more creative and we’re started to miss that a lot with our videos games and entertainment but yeah I just think it can be better as all and to line up better.
I wish they had used the in game engine for H2 cutscenes from the get-go, but they didn’t, and even if it was a choice driven 100% by budgetary constraints it was still the artistic choice made so I think they should be left alone. They have grown on me over time but even if they had not I’d still say leave them as they are. Han shot first and we don’t need any revisionary craziness!!!
Speaking of cutscenes… you still can NOT watch the post NY and post Maldives cutscenes from the campaign tab… hey @Combatglue any chance that can get fixed?
Dont @ combatglue @ art
Why is this in Hitman: World of Assassination > ICA-Leak-Data-Dump? Aside from the fact that we perhaps got a sniff of the cut Ether skyscraper through files, this just doesn’t seem to belong here.
Pinging @Urben because it seems you need special perms to ping the admin/moderator group.
Honestly, I hated them when I first witnessed them in 2018 coming from the cinematic style of HITMAN 2016, but having played through the entire game again, I quite like the still image style, in some ways better than some of the HITMAN 3 cutscenes. The still images gives more time to reflect on the emotions of the characters depicted within the scene, and it also leaves it to interpretation as well for the thoughts you imagine the characters to feel.

Changed it for ya. Don’t know why this was in the leaks category
It’s the same question as finishing Bangkok. And the answer is the same - money.
It’s extra work that doesn’t pay off financially.
HITMAN 1 and HITMAN 3 feature animated cutscenes upon mission completion, but HITMAN 2 uses still, motionless cutscenes, which still feels strange to me.
If each game were separate, this feeling of incongruity might have been less pronounced, but
the fact that HITMAN 1 through 3 are bundled together makes the incongruity feel much more pronounced.
If the cutscenes were animated, the game’s overall quality would undoubtedly improve.
While I understand that altering the cutscenes isn’t realistic from a financial or user acquisition standpoint, I’m still one of those people who wants to see the cutscenes in HITMAN 2 animated.
Also, as @Yacob pointed out, I think the cinematic sequences upon completing New York and the Maldives missions should be added.
Even the quality of the cutscenes that are animated are all over the place. Look at Diana, Grey and Edwards in H1, then look at them in the cutscenes for New York and Haven, then look at them in H3, then look at them in Ambrose Island. The H1 scenes were the best, top-tier quality. H3, while better than the stills of H2, was a bit meh, and the ones for the in-betweeners were, I guess the kindest word would be: iffy.
Isn’t that bc H1 scenes were done by the pros at Square Enix and aren’t just in game engine generated while all the others were after IO went it on their own so IO were kinda just doing the very best they could with that they had?
Hitman 2 cutscenes look great imo.
Hitman 3 cutscenes on the other hand are atrocious.
