I sadly have to agree. Asia is starting to be the new USA of the franchise. Ofcourse that’s not a problem but Eastern Europe and Africa are left in the dark for quite a while now.

Not counting Carpathian Mountains cause its no sandbox

Asia is very diverse and there are parts they still haven’t visited like central Asia, Hokkaido and Chongqing are quite unique but it’s really Mumbai, Ambrose, Bangkok and Haven that have similarities, it’s starting to get boring. When Ambrose was teased everyone was saying it was a mix of Haven and Santa Fortuna, if and when a new map gets announced I hope we can’t say anything like that I want it to be a new concept with a new look and feel.

Let’s also consider Australia. Hawke’s Bay, while geographically close, isn’t enough.

We got that in Freeform Training :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m just going by what was said in-game. He witnessed Strandberg’s death during his live interview. That’s all I have to go on, otherwise it’s just hypothesizing. I think the theory of it being a hint for players is a little thin, given the fact that it’s a mission story in Marrakesh that the player can easily find.

Not a hint for them to know they can do it; a hint of “hey, remember this way that you were able to kill this target? Here’s an NPC in another map talking about it. Is that what really happened maybe?” But I doubt this. Again, because of the recurrence of discrepancies in the manner of death of targets across the series.

For a more specific example, in Rico’s bio, it says Fernando Delgado died in an apparent accident, and yet the legacy cinematic that introduces us to Grey and shows 47’s hits of the past clearly shows him getting fiber wired. So the ways that targets are actually dying, and the info being put out into the world about how they died, don’t always line up. IOI is, I’m fairly sure, deliberately contradicting themselves at various points to keep it nebulous and lacking a specific canon. This character says he saw Strandberg die, but did he? If so, it was clearly an accident, so why is another NPC in Bangkok saying that the question is who really killed Zaydan and Strandberg.

I think IOI has a “favorite” method of particular targets dying, and they drop Easter eggs to the player here and there reminding them of it without committing completely to the idea that that was the canon death, even if it seems unlikely to be the canon death. Novikov being killed by the light fixture is another good example; it’s mentioned elsewhere in the series (I haven’t heard that but someone told me it is), and we see it in 47’s nightmare in Untouchable, despite the fact that it kills so many bystanders that it’s something 47 would never actually do. I think IOI just really like that kill and mention it repeatedly without saying it’s what went down, and what we saw in 47’s dream was just him remembering how he visualized that kill working out as he considered it, before moving on to another method (this is helped by other things he “remembered” in that nightmare not being how they actually happened). Things like that.

Ok, so I´m primarily in the “snowy map” camp, simply because - like @schatenjager mentions - I want a snowy level with sufficiently large outdoor areas where I can finally put all those winter-themed unlocks to use (Hokkaido really isn´t enough in that regard, particularly when considering that Patient Zero still limits us to a default starting suit). That being said, I´d also be fine if it was a snowy version of an existing map and not necessarily a new one. Dartmoor would probably be my no. 1 pick for that (plenty of outdoors + the mansion would look great in a winter setting), with WC being a close second. If it was to be a completely new map, ski resort all the way.

Now, a casino level would also be great. Considering all the different blend-ins, interactions and mini stories we´ve seen throughout the WoA trilogy, a well-made casino level would be quite awesome and fun (not to mention a great preparation for 007, but maybe IO are actually planning a casino level for that game instead?). As for the setting, well, as much as I like @MrOchoa ´s suggestion for a secret yakuza den in Tokyo (combined with street levels), Macau would probably be more fitting (Asia-wise, anyway - plus it´s got some obvious Skyfall vibes).

However, geographically speaking, what I´d really like is one more map set in Africa. Sub-Saharan Africa to be precise (I think I once noticed some info about Hantu Port originally supposed to be set in West Africa - which btw would be more fitting for the human smuggling scenario than fricking Singapore if you ask me - but I couldn´t find it again and have no idea if there was any truth to it). And even more specifically South Africa, which has been eluding us for way too long now. There´s the cut Ether facility in Johannesburg for H2 mentioned by @Luiluix , the city itself was featured in cutscenes in both H1 and H2 to tease us enough, and one of the ideas for a H3 location was a South African vineyeard/winery (which ultimately ended up being merged with an idea for a tango event in Argentina into the Mendoza level).

So if IO were to make one more new map, I´d actually like them to finally give RSA as a location a go. It could be an Ether facility in Joburg, or somewhere else (I mentioned in another thread that if the Ether facility pamphlet in Ambrose is indeed meant to be an indication, then it would be a pretty neat twist to have it located in the Drankensberg, which could potentially also double as a snowy location), or something completely different.

Side notes:

Same here. LAX is one of my favourite levels in the series and precisely the reason why I´ve always wanted to see a Hitman take on an airport level. Hopefully they´ll give it a go eventually.

Why not both in one? :smirk: (Die Hard 2 vibes intensify)

My god, if there ever was a Hitman level set in a pachinko parlor (and I hope there never will be), I´d probably have a hard time doing anything but kill-everyone playthroughs :joy:

Chongqing covers that quite well indeed, but it´s sadly lacking in interesting (non-ICA-related) interiors and things going on, unlike Sapienza/Marrakesh/Mumbai (or even Santa Fortuna for that matter). It was a far cry from what most people expected/wanted from an East Asian (mega)city map, which is why many would probably be on board for another go (or at least a bonus Chongqing mission with some significantly repurposed interiors, which I think would be enough, although I´d still like a Hitman level set in Tokyo at some point in the future).

I´m with you on the geographical variety though (obviously). Also, Hokkaido rocks :+1:

Ah, ok, thanks. For some reason I had that name associated with this guy…

If the Freelancer safehouse turns out to be in Scandinavia or Eastern Europe, will that count?

I probably wouldn´t go as far as to say that (I mean, H2SA had more Asian levels than European ones), but I think the issue is like @the.designer.boi mentions that most of the Asian settings feel similar. They´re still unique video-game locations in their own right and I´m happy for the choices, but they are pretty cramped geographically and feel alike in more ways than would probably be desired.

As I mention above, South Africa (and more broadly Sub-Saharan Africa) would be my preferred choice for that continent, but something in the Sahara or the Middle Eastern deserts would be indeed interesting. Specifically I´ve been curious about something like this facility that shows up in the Dubai briefing cutscene (they use a hell of a desert setting in that cutscene - plus that cargo plane model - would be a shame if they didn´t utilize it more…).

Technically he has already gone there. Hitman GO has an airport mission :stuck_out_tongue: I have yet to see a good airport mission since Pandora Tomorrow. UGH! That beautiful, orange sunset.

Pandora Tomorrow with the train and airport missions :ok_hand: would be awesome to repurpose Romania into something like that

Sorry, I take it back. The final level in Max Payne 3 is absolutely brilliant.

Yeah a luxury train going through the Carpathian Mountains, full of passengers. Basically the train out of Resident Evil 0 would be a superb Hitman map due to its variety in each car and the fact that it’s a double-decker train.

Now if that ever came reality it would be amazing!! :open_mouth:

Sometimes just talking about it makes you want it more haha :joy:

I’d like an airport map. It would look visually impressive with the open-ended airfield visible through the massive airport glass. Also seeing all the planes taking off and landing would make it feel really alive and immersive. Besides we’ve already seen planes and airports quite a few times in Hitman.

ioi said will be another map or you all just guess?

This is just hypothetical. There are no confirmed new maps, unless you count Evergreen as a map.

Btw, @47Agent, this picture is absolutely fucking priceless and I’ve already saved it into a Memes folder on my harddrive as a potential forum weapon in other non-Hitman boards I post on. It’s so good!

Think this picture needs to be a defaulted auto-reply bot post if anyone ever shares the pain [I’ve been there myself] of failing an Elusive Target!

I voted for Other Snow Map (not a Ski Lodge), however, I would not be against a Ski Lodge snow map or a Casino map either. Casino levels in video games are almost always some of my favorites. I think either Las Vegas, Nevada, USA or a Macau would be a perfect Casino map.

The number 1 priority for new maps (in my opinion) should be a snow map because of all the snow related suits and items we have in the game.

I think some good Mastery unlocks for a new Snow map would be a snow camo’d Assault Rifle, Shotgun, SMG, and Pistol as we already have two snow camo’d Sniper Rifles.

I also would LOVE to see a snow-based Bonus Mission on either Whittleton Creek or Berlin, regardless if we get a new snow map or not.

I mean 47 has killed innocent bystanders / non targets in numerous other games. The main one that comes to my mind is the glass hot tub floor in “you better watch out…”. 47 also killed a LOT of nontargets in Codename 47, although some aspects were kind of retconned in the contracts version (although the contracts version has an unreliable narrator as 47 misremembered many aspects of the locations due to his current condition / blood loss, including names and weather). However in blood money nontargets killed with accidents didn’t void silent assassin.

47 definitely killed Novikov with the light fixture, considering that it’s featured in the Untouchable cutscene, and the challenge for it (the showstopper) was literally the name for the level. It was also featured prominently in one of the original trailers for Hitman 2016.
